How to Turn Off Depth of Field:
-------------------------------
Written by iblis

Here is a short guide on how to disable Depth of Field, if you dislike it.

you can disable it same as octopath traveler 1, but file location is different.

* pass:
  %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Octopath_Traveler2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
* file name
  "Engine.ini"

* %userprofile% is your account folder.
* if your username is “user1”, then C:\Users\user1
* open "Engine.ini" and write this.

  [SystemSettings]
 r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
 r.BloomQuality=0

* restart.

Tips to Get HP and SP:
----------------------
That’s actually a lot of options.

* For HP and SP you can rest at inn for a cheap price, or even free if you
  have a good guy as Partitio’s follower.
* For HP particular, there are many skills, you can do First Aid or Doze
  (sleep and restore 50% HP) at just 2SP.
* You also full restore on level up.
* If you have the materials and the meter you can use Castii to max restore
  mid battle. Ochette has some healing capturables for herself (maybe some
  aoe ones down the line). Partitio can just rest mid fight. You got options.
* Sound like Hikari -> Castii -> Partitio -> Ochette would be a good team for
  sustaining.
* Use Agnea as your SP tank. Allure an NPC that gives you Peaceful Prelude,
  so whenever Agnea dances to buff someone, the NPC will additionally restore
  75 SP for the targeted character.
* Apothecary’s passive abilities are also great for restoring SP, such as
  restoring 30% HP/SP upon winning battles, and restoring SP when breaking
  enemies.

One of the best options I found is the first Apothecary passive. Once you get
the first license, 130 JP will give every character that wants it a 30% HP and
SP heal after every battle, which is huge. Completely changed the game.

How to Grind Money:
-------------------
* Octopuff farm on water with all the octopuff baits you have (i’ve got 3
  for the moment). King octopuff gives you 50k gold, the others 1500 that
  is not worth but all of them give you a nut for 5% chance that is great.

* If you don’t have baits, the better way to get money is stealing (all the
  pathes havin same effect for switch day/night) to get sellable items, with
  partitio and the npc with the best selling bonus you can have. I’ve fond
  one in the starting city of partitio.

* For the moment i have 600+ leaves, the boat and i’ce spent lot of money
  in weapons.

* Collect skill is good only on the bosses (chapter3 15k, chapter4 40-60k leaves).

How to Hikari 60k+ Damage (1vs1 Challenge Setup):
-------------------------------------------------
Written by Criss Silverie

How to deal high damage in 1vs1 with Hikari for mid-post game 1vs1 challenge
farming.

-=Description=-
I will just simply talk about the setup and you will all have to figure out
how to clear the side quest yourself.

-=Support Skill=-
* A Step Ahead (Inventor).
* Eagle Eye (Hunter).
* Boost-Start (Merchant).
* Deal More Damage (Warrior).

-=Equipment=-
* Battle Tested Blade, you can farm it with a low drop rate from certain Npc,
  OR complete Hikari Story, and there will be a NPC that you can steal/entreat
  from at Crackridge Harbor: Anchorage.
* Shields: Any that +Crit.
* Head: Any that +Crit.
* Body: Any that +Crit.
* Accessories 1: Alpione’s Amulet (HP+1200, Effects: Deal More Damage when Low HP)
  Once you complete Ochette Story to a certain point, Alpione’s will appear at
  Gravell as a side quest, do the side quest to obtain.
* Accessories 2: Victory Ring (+20 Physical Attack, Increase Physical Attack at
  the start of battle) from a Side Quest in New Delsta: Backstreet, there is a
  npc women sidequest regarding his husband gambling issue, finish it and you
  get this ring.
* You will need a skill called Last Gasp as shown on screen, you learn it from
  defeating a Guard at the entrance of Montwise in daytime.
* Once you have all the setup, all you need to do is get into Low HP state first,
  easiest way is to challenge high difficulty NPC and lose, once you do that you
  will be at 1hp, and now you are ready.
* Just go challenge anyone to 1vs1 with hikari, at the start of the battle A Step
  Ahead would kick in, all need to do is just Boost all the way and use Last Gasp,
  and watch the enemy melts.
* This method require you to ONLY recover SP to keep using. if you Recover HP you
  will need to lower it again to do more damage.

-=Additional Notes=-
* The damage shown are tested on a 9? Npc, you will do more or less depends on
  your Hikari Level or the difficulty of the challenge.
* I tried changing out Victory Ring to another item called Champions Belt Physical
  Attack +100, Critical +100.
* On paper Champion belt may seems better, but it only did like 40k++ damage. The
  moment i swap to Victory Ring, it straight away goes up to 60K++.
* No stats boosting Nut’s have been used at all, in-fact i don’t want to use Nut’s
  at all in my playthrough. you will do more damage for sure if you want to optimize
  it with Nut’s.
* The total amount of max HP Hikari have doesn’t affect the damage.

-=Additional Info
Npc that drops these battle tested weapon in 1vs1 Challenge (2% Drop rate).

* Battle Tested Dagger: Clockbank, Tavern 2nd floor balcony daytime, old man 9.
* Battle Tested Bow: New Delsta, outside of the Inn daytime, the Black Dress tutor
  lady 9.
* Battle Tested Axe: Cape Cold, right side corner of the town , Villager 8.
* Battle Tested Spear: Sai, Entrance of town daytime, Townsperson 8.
* Battle Tested Sword: Tropu’hopu, NorthWest ish of the town daytime, next to
  Grandma House, Young Man 10.
* Battle Tested Staff: Canalbrine, Northeast of town inside a Chapel daytime,
  Cleric 10.
* Battle Tested Shield: Montwise, Entrance of town daytime, Guard 9.

True Ending / Extra Stories Guide:
----------------------------------
Written by Ceaseless Duality

This helps you navigate through the ending of the game and its EXTRA stories.

-=Prerequisites
The Path to the Dawn (aka the ending of the game) opens up once you’ve finished
all eight character stories and all four Cross Stories.

You do not have to finish all the side stories, but once you start the end of the
game and EXTRA stories, you have to finish it before you can go back to doing side
stories. You also have to be careful not to initiate the Epilogue or you won’t be
able to finish the side stories on that file.

Note: For the final boss, it’s recommended that your party be at least level 60
with the best equipment possible. It’s recommended that you obtain said best
equipment possible before initiating the ending/extra stories.

-=To Start
On the world map, southeast of Cropdale, there will be a marker for “Extra Stories”
on the Southern Cropdale Trail. A green, pulsating marker will show up on the mini-
map when you enter the area. When you approach it, you’ll receive a rather large
warning message about the stuff I mentioned in the previous section. If you’re
worried about it, just save on another file once you’ve started the ending/extra
stories.

After the cutscene, you’ll then have access to all eight characters and can change
the party through the main menu anytime. It’ll be suggested to just wander the
world until you find clues. Lucky you for you, I’m going to save you some time
with this guide.

-=Four Locations of the Flame
You can do these in any order, but I’ve listed them in the order that makes most
sense story-wise.

-=Flamechurch
Fight Arcanette. Weaknesses: Polearm, Axe, Lightning, Ice.

Go up to the cathedral. You can find Tanzy’s Journal. Have Temenos and Throné in
your party, then use the Shiny Mirror in your inventory at the torch where the blue
flame should be.

-=Tombs of Wardenbeasts
From Beasting Village, make your way east to the tombs. At the end of the dungeon,
you’ll have to fight a boss.

Fight Grotesque Monster. Weaknesses: Axe, Bow, Ice, Light.

Have Castti and Ochette in your party, then use the Shiny Mirror at the torch.

-=Fellsun Ruins
Go east from Crackridge to get to the ruins. Within the ruins, gather 17 Journal
Fragments. Have Partitio and Osvald in your party, then use the Shiny Mirror in
your inventory at the torch.

-=Tranquil Grotto
From Ku, you can make your way east to the Tranquil Grotto. Have Hikari and Agnea
in your party, then use the Shiny Mirror at the torch.

Once all four blue flames are ablaze, the final dungeon opens up.

-=Final Dungeon: Vidania
Canalbrine has the closest harbor to the final dungeon. Board your personal ship
and head in the direction of the four light beams shown on the world map.

Vidania Castle is straightforward. Literally just go up the stairs.

-=Final Boss
This fight will make use of all eight party members. About halfway through the fight,
Vide will swallow up the first four party members, forcing you to use the next four.

Fight

Some weaknesses are missing due to me defeating stuff too quickly.

Vide. Weaknesses: Sword, Axe, Staff, Lightning, Light – Weaknesses (Changed):
Bow, Fire, Darkness,

Wriggling Tentacle. Weaknesses: Polearm, Axe, Bow, Ice, Light

Creeping Tentacle. Weaknesses: Sword, Dagger, Bow, Staff, Fire

Thwarting Tentacle. Weaknesses: Sword, Polearm,

Lithe Tentacle. Weaknesses: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Light

Oh, but that’s not even my final form!

Fight

Vide the Wicked. Weaknesses: Sword, Dagger, Bow, Wind, Light

Wicked Left Arm. Weaknesses: Sword, Axe, Bow, Staff – Weaknesses (Changed): Sword,
Polearm, Dagger, Bow

Wicked Right Arm. Weaknesses: Fire, Lightning, Light, Dark – Weaknesses (Changed):
Ice, Wind, Light, Dark

-=Epilogue
The epilogue can be initiated at Southern Cropdale Trail, at the same spot where
the ending started. Examine the campfire. Wait for the credits to finish.

Finish all side stories (or anything else) before going to the Epilogue.

Swap Your Main Character Before Beating Their Chapter 4:
--------------------------------------------------------
Written by if...

If you’re like me and want two completely separate parties for the main story.

-=The Guide=-
Locate your save data at:

* Windows: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Octopath_Traveler2\Steam\User-ID\SaveGames

* Linux: /home/user/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1971650/pfx/drive_c/users/
  steamuser/Documents/My Games/Octopath_Traveler2/Steam//SaveGames/

(Save 0 is the auto save)

Back up the original just in case then and upload your save to SaveEditOnline.com

Search for FirstSelectCharacterID and set it to 9 (making a note of what number it i
s originally would be useful as I only know the one for my main character)

Download the newly edited save and place it in your save folder

Start the game up again and you should be good to go

-=Important!=-
If you’re doing this you need to make sure you go back and set somebody as the main
character before you complete all chapter 4s. Completing the chapter 4 of your main
character triggers access to post-game things. Just follow all the steps in the guide
again, but change FirstSelectCharacterID back to whatever it was originally. Make
sure that they’re in the active party before you do this. I don’t know all the ID
numbers, but if you forgot the one for your main character Partitio’s is 4 so set it
to him.

Do not set FirstSelectCharacterID to 0 as it will just delete the string.

Secret Boss Fight Tips:
-----------------------
Here are a few useful tips:

You can cheese the second round of the fight very easily if you use Partitio for
the second phase AND if you have a lot of money. And I mean A LOT!!! Basically
Partitio has this move called Negotiate Schedule (if you visited the Merchant
altar that is).

This skill make it that, by paying money, you can “steal” the turn of an opponent.
Like I said, it’s very costly, so hopefully for you, you can deal lots of DPS
quickly with the rest of your team. And yeah, it’s a cheap move but, believe me,
the second part is WAAAY harder than the first part, so if you want to use a cheap
move don’t feel bad about it! lol

Now to defeat the first part, since that’s where you are struggling; for me the
MVP was Throné. But not just Throné, a boosted Throné. Get as much Speed on her
as you can, as much Strength on her as you can (and by saying that, I include
boosts from moves like Swift Step and Lion Dance); then also get the Defense down
on ALL parts of Galderra (a Sealtcge’s Seduction + Armor Corrosive combo can do
the trick); then ALSO have the Peak Performance passive skill equipped on Throné
(from Armsmaster), while also making sure Throné is at full health.

When you’ve managed to do all that set-up, throw an Aeber’s Reckoning in there;
If you’ve set everything up like I said before, you should, I believe, be able
to do enough damage on all the “minions” surrounding his main body part to just
straight up destroy them all! So no need to worry about counters! Just always
make sure Throné (and, yeah, I guess you need Agnea too in there) are up and
ready to do that at any time, because you never know when the minions will
come back.

So keep their BP up, keep Throné’s health up, keep the Speed Boost and Strenght
boost on Throné up, and be ready to throw the Sealtcge’s Seduction/Armor Corrosive
combo whenever the minions reappear; otherwise Throné’s damage might not be
enough. Also, a bit optional but still very helpful: For the main body part, he
gets a lot of Shield points near the end.

But I had Ochette in my team with a monster that was doing two Dagger attacks,
of which Galderra’s main body is weak against. So pulling a boosted Provoke
Beasts worked like a charm. Also something else that worked well was Agnea’s
Windy Refrain; that really allow you to keep a good control of the battlefield;
from what I recall, losing that control even for a little bit gets dangerous.

So yeah, again, that’s what I remember of how I defeated him in Octopath Traveler 2.
Again, a little bit cheesy on Part 2 but that fight was way too hard otherwise!
It’s probably not the only way to win this fight, but it worked really well for me.
