Tips & Tricks:
--------------
* Don’t forget the essentials!
In the heat of the moment, it can be easy to forget the essentials. Remember
to regularly check that your patients have a source of food, a drinking source,
things to keep them entertained, places to sit, access to bins, access to
toilets and then, depending on what kind of level you are on available air
conditioning or radiators (if required).

* Use marketing
Marketing can be the difference between your hospital surviving and thriving. If
you’re suffering from low reputation, or want to attract patients in to treat
specific conditions, then you can do that by building a marketing room and hiring
an assistant with marketing qualifications.

Say, for example, you’re playing Melt Downs and you’ve got an objective to bring
in and cure 5 patients with Denim Genes and 10 patients with Shock Horror. If
you’re waiting around for patients to come in, try three things.

Boost your hospital reputation. Make sure you have plenty of GP’s offices,
pharmacies and low-level cure rooms to deal with a steady flow of patients. Make
sure you’re building rooms you need to cure illnesses that people are arriving
with.

Prepare for – and deal with – emergencies. You could get a Denim Genes emergency
at a point in the level. Best to be prepared by getting a room built (if you can
afford it) to maximise your chances of curing patients quickly. Ensure you have
a doctor trained in the DNA lab qualification (it’s super-important in general
to ensure your doctors are all qualified to use the equipment you’re assigning
them to!)

Run a marketing campaign specifically targeting potential Denim Genes patients.

* You can free-rotate items by holding left-control when holding objects. This
removes the snap-to system and allows you to place items on completely arbitrary
angles. You can even find yourself a little more space to squeeze in objects here.

* As well as research and training being important in optimising your hospital,
upgrading machines is also a key factor. Research upgrades then deploy janitors
with the mechanic ability to upgrade your cure machines.

* When hiring better staff, consider their traits as well as their qualifications.
You may have a staff member who is qualified to the nines, but will they get on
with their colleagues?

* Don’t forget your Kudosh! Getting to higher star ratings in some hospitals
unlocks more items/upgrades, and extra Kudosh. Kudosh is important in unlocking
special items which you can place throughout your hospital to make it prettier
or more functional.

* Try jumping between hospitals to complete extra objectives. Especially if a
hospital is proving to be difficult to manage, try jumping to one of your other
hospitals and see if you can discover anything new there.

* More diagnosis rooms means you’ll diagnose people faster which will help keep
queue lengths down and cure rates up!

Incidents:
----------
Every now and then, you’ll receive an email with a blue light on it, and these
are incidents. They are major events, like an accident or people running away
and needing help, and will test your hospital’s services within a set timeframe.

If you successfully cure the majority of the patients, you’ll receive a bonus
to your reputation, Kudosh and money. If you do not cure most of them, you’ll
either get nothing, or you’ll get a slight ding to your reputation. Keep in mind
that, since some cures take longer than others (such as Jest Infection), having
only one room dedicated to that cure may not be enough, especially if the patients
get hung up somewhere (bathroom, for example), or the doctor in charge goes on
break or has a negative trait like falling asleep, which wastes time.

Some of the incidents you may face are:

Curing 7 patients with Jest Infection within 90 days

-=Staff Experience=-
Staff come with various levels. A one star staff member is slower and prone to
mistakes, and will only have one slot available for traits. They are also the
cheapest to hire. You can hire staff with more experience, or train them to
increase their level and title, which then increases how many traits they can have.

-=1 Star=-
Student Doctor | Student Nurse | Intern Assistant | Intern Janitor

-=2 Stars
Junior Doctor | Junior Nurse | Junior Assistant | Junior Janitor

-=3 Stars
Doctor | Nurse | Assistant | Janitor

-=4 Stars
Consultant | Senior Nurse | Senior Assistant | Senior Janitor

-=5 Stars
Senior Consultant | Chief Nurse | sss | Head Janitor

Staff gain experience by doing their job. Staff will start at a minimum of one
star. To improve, they need to accumulate:

2 stars:
3 stars: 250 XP
4 stars: 600 XP
5 stars: 1000 XP
Once at level 5: 2000 XP

Staff Management Tips:
----------------------
Not everything is so cut and dry with this game as the systems and mechanics
are quite in depth and allow for quite a bit of experimentation.

For example you can create treatment or diagnosis doctors and nurses which instead
of being specialised are used as on hand staff which can react to different illnesses.
With this strategy you want to focus on the speed skill to ensure they can get around
the hospital efficently.

There are also multiple other very useful traits such as ‘cheap’ and ‘tireless’ which
can save your money in the long run, so look out for these if you’re on a budget.
The romantic trait can occasionally give your staff a happiness boost when they fall
‘in love’, and a member of staff also receives a happiness buff if they receive a
reward, or cure a patient, to name a few.

Also if you’re using a lot of plants to increase the prestige of your rooms, think
about allocating them to staff with the green fingers trait so they can alleviate
the massive work load from the janitors by watering their own plants.

And lastly, consider placing food and drinks objects for your staff in their rooms
so that they can recuperate their hunger/thirst between patients. Although this only
works if it’s not too busy. Also it’s beneficial to keep food and drinks objects
within the staff room. Staff when on their break in the staff room receive a constant
happiness and energy gain while inside, so you want to keep them in their for as much
time as possible, and not have them spending their break running around the hospital.

It is entirely possible to work staff without a staff room by refilling their energy
with coffee or energy drinks. This works particularly well with researchers or any
staff where happiness is not important.

Missing Your Golden Toilet?:

Missing Your Golden Toilet? Read Here!
You need to head here twopointhospital.com, where you should be prompted to redeem
the golden toilet through Steam.

Once that's done you'll need to log into your Steam account, authorise SEGA to activate
keys. As long as you own the game you should then be greeted by a 'DLC Redemption'
success message. Then the DLC should appear in your steam account.

Reduce Long Waiting Times and Deaths:
-------------------------------------
Written by Schluppdidupp

To prevent patients from having to wait too long and thus becoming dissatisfied or
even dying because everything took too long, there is a trick that works very well
for me.

Click on the patient list at the bottom, then click on „Diagnosis“ twice in succession
at the top so that everything is displayed in succession with the treatment progress
and not in a jumble. Then click on each patient once in this list and when the
personal information window appears on the right, click on the green button “Send for
treatment”. Then they go directly to the room in question and don’t have to waste any
more waiting time for other rooms.

This saves a lot of time and of course they still die but not nearly as often as they
do when you don’t send them directly for treatment.

If you want to click on everyone in this list, you should press the space bar for this
duration so that the game is paused. Otherwise, the positions of the patients change
constantly which makes it difficult to click on the treatment button or it disappears
during the time when the patient goes somewhere else instead of going straight to
treatment.

You should also click on the patient list every 1–2 minutes or so, so that not too
many patients accumulate and it is possibly too late for some of them to receive
treatment.

Another way to shorten the wait is to click on the tab for finances at the bottom
and then on “Guidelines” at the top right and then tick the box right at the
beginning to speed up the process.

Also in hospitals, for example, where you constantly need a lot of money and there
are many deaths because you don’t have money for treatment rooms or new properties,
you can select a high number at the top of the “Guidelines” to reduce deaths.

At the same time, you should also go to the “Finances” tab and then click on
„Prices“ and try to increase everything to get more money for everything. Of course,
you shouldn’t overdo it because otherwise, the patients will refuse to spend so
much money.

For me, it works quite well when I increase everything to 30%. This and also what
I mentioned about the “Guidelines” have to be re–adjusted at every hospital if you
haven’t done it there before.
