+----------+
+--------+
||1. INTRO||
+--------+
+----------+

Take a seat, ladies and gentlemen.

Most of you have helped in the fight against terrorism since the days that John
Brightling tried to kill the human race in the name of "nature." You've been
there to save innocents from the warped ideals of their kidnappers who most
definitely would have sent them to an early grave. You've been very brave over
the years, and though we have saved the world multiple times, you're needed
again.

You rookies are most welcome too, even though Rainbow has been put under a new
director. Several of the veterans are unhappy the way this so-called UBI Soft
has handled things, but all in all, every one of you is commended for sticking
through the problems and staying with us. Your respective countries thank you.

Intel suggests that we will be putting you into 15 dangerous missions. These
are life-and-death, and not necessarily just yours. I will be your guide, and
with my help, I will make sure to guide you all to victory. You may all thank
Brad (bb-bjd@mindspring.com) for convincing me to take the assignment.

Remember: no hostage is allowed to die under our watch, or we have failed. We
must remain strong and fight our enemies together. We must plan our assaults
down to the smallest detail, for only our weaponry and our intelligence give us
the edge.

If you want to see the actual plans I used, head to my website, which is at the
following URL:

http://www.geocities.com/pyrofalkon/

Good luck; that is all. Dismissed.

+---------------+
||2. GUIDE BASICS||
+---------------+
+-----------------+

For simplicity's sake, I've divided every mission into specific parts. It's
designed so that if you only want the merest of hints, you can get them without
spoiling anymore. On the other hand, if you want step-by-step instructions, I
have those too.

Please note that, in theory, there are infinite ways to go about a mission. The
method I provide is only one way, and it HAS worked for me. Please do not e-
mail me saying that a given strategy is always failing; it could be that you're
not playing it the way I am, you're unlucky, or your style is different than
mine.

That said, if you can improve a strategy (notice I said "improve," not
"overhaul"), feel free to write me. I will at least consider the contribution,
and I'll either replace or amend my given strategy, giving you all due credit.
I will not accept completely new strategies, simply because I don't feel like
posting 100 ways to do every mission.

One final note: I use the latest version of Rainbow Six 3, which at the time of
this writing is v1.41. That's EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Silenced weapons got a
massive damage boost recently, and in a couple of my missions, I milk that for
all it's worth. If for some reason you can't get a hold of v1.41, the
strategies might still work, but I won't guarantee some of them.

Oh, all plans I give here can be found on my website...

http://www.geocities.com/pyrofalkon/

You can download them and put them in the appropriate folders if you desire. I
give more specific instructions on my site.

Okay, here's how every mission will be shown to you...

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Some people won't give a crap about the story, but I'll provide it here anyway
for those who are interested. Basically I'll just summarize John Clark's and
Kevin Sweeny's comments, possibly throwing in a few of my own.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

I'll give the difficulty of the mission here, along with general information
about what to expect from the enemy and whether hostages or any other extra
circumstance is a factor. I'll also talk briefly about the building layout.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Here I'll list the general way the teams go about getting business done. I
won't mention waypoints or go-codes, just a quick sentence or two about how to
get things accomplished.

+-----------+
Agent Setup
+-----------+

I'll list every agent I use in the mission and how they're divided up among the
teams.

+---------+
Equipment
+---------+

I'll give you weapon and equipment settings here, as well as armor level.
Please note that I will never specify a uniform color. As far as I'm able to
tell, color doesn't matter anyway, so I just use black normally and switch
every few missions just for kicks.

+-------------+
Team Strategy
+-------------+

This is the meat of every mission. I'll always start with the team that is
player-controlled, and I'll work my way from there. I'll give go-codes and
waypoints here, but I won't chart EVERY waypoint out... I can't do that very
effectively with a TXT document, which is why I recommend you download my plans
from my website.

+----------+
+--------+
||3. NOTES||
+--------+
+----------+

You can't effectively use my plans if you don't know how I play the game, so
let me list some notes here for you. This part almost goes hand-in-hand with my
General Planning Strategies FAQ for this game, which should be available on the
same site where you're viewing this document.

+-----------+
Team Colors
+-----------+

Red team is always the team with the hardest objectives. Gold team is a sniper
team if I need a sniper team. Green is a hybrid, changing depending on the
mission.

I almost always play as the Gold team; I always play as them if they're a
sniper team. I simply do not trust the computer to snipe effectively. Besides,
I've never been an aggressive player in FPS games, so I'm far less hands-on
than the Red team will be.

Now, if you're a big hands-on kind of player, you may be wanting to take on the
role of Red. Be advised though that in many circumstances, I use the SATS
(explained below), and the computer CANNOT pull it off. My plans, both in text
form and on my site, take SATS into account, so if a team uses SATS, then I
have to play as that team.

While we're talking about it...

+----+
SATS
+----+

SATS is short for Smoke-And-Thermal Strategy.

Here's the thing about the Thermal Scope, an attachment to every Sniper Rifle:
it senses heat signatures. Now, the smoke grenades do NOT give off heat. An
EXTREMELY effective strategy is to smoke an area, then set up a sniper to turn
on their Thermal Scope. They will see the enemy, but the enemy will not see
them. Boom. In several missions, I live and die by this strategy.

Now, there's two problems with it. One, auto-aim usually stops working when you
SATS. This is mostly because auto-aim is for what your agent can "see," and
even your agent can't see through smoke. Now, if you don't play with auto-aim
anyway, then it doesn't matter and won't affect you. But if you do use auto-aim
usually, be ready to manually target tangos.

The second problem, as I mentioned before, is that computer-controlled teams
CANNOT pull off a SATS. They will smoke an area and set up to snipe, but they
will not be intelligent enough to turn on the Thermal Scope. CPU-controlled
teams USUALLY see tangos before they see them when the smoke starts to clear,
but it's too high of a risk.

Also, the computer does not pause to give the smoke time to saturate. They'll
throw the grenade and immediately head to the next waypoint, even if the
grenade is still airborne or not even triggered yet.

Therefore, I stress that if you incorporate SATS into your plans (whether
you're using mine or not), you MUST be the SATS team. Otherwise, the team will
get shot up before anything happens.

Now, just for simplicity's sake, I'll mention SATS throughout the document. So,
if you see this...

"SATS-crouch the hallway."

That means, throw a smoke grenade in the hallway, wait for it to saturate, run
into the middle of it, take a crouched stance, snipe, and turn on your T-Scope.
I specify the stance because it usually does matter.

+-----------+
Depth Chart
+-----------+

I'm big on sports games too, so I've made a depth chart for agents in Rainbow
Six.

Basically, it goes like this... When I need a team, I look at the leadership
ratings of all agents in a given specialty. I pick my leaders based entirely on
that leadership rating. Then I give them the best people in the next rating
category they need.

For example, let's say I need two assault teams, Red and Green. First I'll need
to get leaders. I'll look through the assault list... the two who have the
highest leadership stat are Chavez and Novikov in that order. So, Chavez is the
team leader of Red, and Novikov is the team leader of Green. Then I look at the
assault ratings of who's left... the next three assault after Chavez (since
he's already there) are Arnavisca, Bogart, and Raymond in that order. That
makes up team Red. The next three are Walther, Price, and Rakuzanka. That makes
up team Green.

If, say, Arnavisca is dead, then team Red will be Bogart, Raymond, and Walther.
Team Green would be Price, Rakuzanka, and Loiselle. Etc.

When I have a sniper team, if the sniper is the leader, I use Kure. Her cover
will be whoever has the highest assault rating once Red and Green are filled.
If the sniper is not the leader of the sniper team, then I'll use Johnston. And
again, if either of those two are dead or wounded, I'll go to the next one in
the list.

The only exception is single-agent teams, which I believe I use only in a
couple specific missions. When you use single-agent teams, the leadership stat
is completely pointless. So, if I need a single-agent team for assault, I'll
just go with whoever is the highest in the assault rating after the other teams
are filled.

Here I'll list my whole depth chart. Notice there's nothing about electronics
specialists, nor demo leaders. I never found a use for teams of demo guys only,
and I haven't found a use for electronics specialists at all. If there was a
tie, I usually prioritize the agent with higher observation.

By the way, this is based on the agents' natural numbers. Remember that their
ratings improve during the campaign, so I change it on the fly as I need to.

Also notice that I don't list *every* agent in every category. That'd be a
waste of both our times. If so many people are lost that I have to dig down to
the bottom of the barrel, then I just manually check the numbers of the
remaining agents.

3a. In-Mission Saves
+--------------------+

I'm going to say this sentence in five different ways. This is what FAQ Authors
call "idiot control." Here we go...

There are no in-mission saves.
You cannot save in-mission.
In-mission saves do not exist.
There is no button to perform an in-mission save.
UBI Soft did not put in-mission saves into Rainbow Six 3.

...Was that enough? Here's a bonus one...

In-mission saves are not part of Rainbow Six 3.

...Okay. If I get any e-mails about this, I'm going to block you and call you
an idiot. Please don't make me do that.

(Note: I don't care if there's some sort of cheat or trainer out there that
lets you do it. Please don't write to me about ANYTHING regarding in-mission
saves.)

||4. MISSION 1||
+------------+
+--------------+

Operation: Stolen Flame
November 30, 2005 @ 2300
Amuay, Venezuela

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Terrorists have occupied an oil refinery in Amuay. They're demanding that Peja
Sicic, a high-ranking official for the Axis powers in WWII, not be deported. If
he is deported, they threaten to blow up the refinery.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The building is composed of only two floors, and your enemies are fairly weak.
No one has body armor and their weapons are low caliber. This mission should be
a cinch, even if you're starting the game for the first time.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Gold clears the whole outside. Then Red and Green hit the top floors while Gold
clears out the lower floor from east to west. The final room will be on the top
floor which Green and Red will hit together.

Team Strategy
+-------------+

GREEN:
Start in the eastern insertion zone and wait for Alpha.

RED:
Start in the western insertion zone. Walk far enough so that you can turn left
and look down the alleyway. Wait for Alpha.

GOLD:
Gold starts in the eastern insertion zone. Creep around left and look up at the
catwalk; there will be a tango there (if he doesn't appear at first, wait
around because he will be there). Once he's down, continue on slowly and creep
to the left. Go down the short flight of stairs to the railroad tracks, and
immediately turn to your right. There's usually a tango at the end of the
tracks, but you'll need your scope to see him. Once he's down, continue going
straight from the stairs (that's left around the tanker car). Keep sidestepping
left until you're against the concrete wall. Head toward the stairs you see in
the distance, but keep your crosshairs up a bit because there will be a tango
on the catwalk above you. Once you pass by the oil barrel, keep your gun
trained up at the far catwalk. Then wait for Alpha. On Alpha, go forward, hang
a left around the tanker cars, then go right up the stairs. Open the first door
on your right, go into the building, and follow the hallway around to the final
door on the left. Wait for Bravo.

GREEN:
On Alpha, blitz around the corner to the ladder. Run across the catwalk, open
the door, and bang the hallway. Once it goes off, turn right and enter the
hallway. Follow it around and wait for Bravo by the next door. On Bravo, enter
the room and go across the catwalk at normal speed. Open the first door you see
on the left and bang the room and then clear it. Then go back the way you came
until you're at the door that leads outside. In front of you is the door to the
control room. Set a breech here and wait for Charlie.

GOLD:
On Bravo, count about 6 seconds, then enter the room and just go straight. This
gives Green time to clear out the enemies above you, so you will only have to
worry about the enemies on your level. Once you go as far as you can, turn left
then right as far as you can (go around the crates). Enter that door and follow
the hallway as it goes to the left. Keep aiming to the left because there will
be a tango half-hidden by a fence. Take him out, then take the first door on
your left. Clear this room out (Red has already taken out the enemies above
you). Head back into the room you just came from, turn left twice, and wait by
this door for Red's milestone 1. If it's already come, enter this room, move so
your left shoulder is always against a wall, and clear it as you walk through.
Now exit the room and go back to the tanker cars. Climb the stairs and ladder
to get to the catwalk above the tanker cars. Stop halfway across the catwalk
and aim at the door. Gold is done.

RED:
On Alpha, go straight and take the first set of stairs that you see. Keep going
straight and turn right as late as you can (this is so they can clear the open
area). Turn right and go to the same door that Gold enters from. Enter that,
follow the hallway, and take the first door on the left. As soon as you're in
that room, turn left and go up the stairs. Crouch and move forward (the crouch
is to avoid being shot through the glass). Enter the door at the end of the
room and clear it. Turn left and enter the eastern door in this room. That
leads to a small room that usually doesn't have anybody in it. Go through it
and into the next room and again crouch as you move. As you pass halfway
through this room, call milestone 1. Now continue through the rooms and
catwalks, heading back toward the control room where Green should already be
ready to enter. Set a breech on the western door and wait for Charlie.

RED & GREEN:
On Charlie, both enter the room from their respective doors and clear the room
(Gold does not participate because it's too risky to send 8 guys in all firing,
but they cover their door in case someone comes out of there).

||5. MISSION 2||
+------------+
+--------------+

Operation: Cold Dagger
December 2, 2005 @ 1600
Jura Canton, Switzerland

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Hostages have been taken within the city of Jura Canton. The hostages are IMF
delegates, who were just on a ski trip and were in the wrong place at the wrong
time.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The terrorists are just about as unorganized as what you dealt with in the
first mission, but now they have two hostages. You'll be dealing with several
buildings, all of which have multiple stories. All the buildings overlook
streets, making crossfire a real threat.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Red does all the work; Green simply provides cover for Red's and the hostages'
escape. Gold does not participate in this battle.

+-----------+
Agent Setup
+-----------+

RED:
Chavez, Ding
Arnavisca, Santiago
Bogart, Daniel

GREEN (Player Team):

AP Army, silenced

Flashbangs

GREEN:
Light armor
M82, scope (assaulters)/PSG-1, T-scope (sniper)
AP Army
Flashbangs
Smoke grenades

+-------------+
Team Strategy
+-------------+

RED:
Start near the front of the insertion zone and walk bearing left. There's a
ramp behind the stack of logs; throw a flashbang down that ramp before you get
to it. Once it goes off, run around the logs and down the ramp; there will be a
tango overlooking the ramp, but the flashbang will distract him long enough to
take him out. Follow the wall along the left and keep going until you are in
the small lean-to. Wait for Alpha beside the hay and wagon.

GREEN:
Start further back in the insertion zone so you don't run into Red. Turn right
and go along the house. Peek around the corner and clear any tangos that you
immediately see. Once it's safe, throw a smoke grenade in front of the window.
Once it saturates, move on and take the first left you can (down the stairs).
Wait for Alpha before turning the corner.

On Alpha, bang the area directly in front of you (aim for the car window). Move
out and shoot anybody you see. Hug the wall on the right and follow the
building around. Enter the door, but only enough to clear the immediate
vicinity, then step back out into the open. Hug the right wall and move
forward. Once the wagon with barrels disappears from your screen on the left
side, SATS-prone the middle of the street, halfway between the blue truck and
the building to your left. Green will do nothing but snipe from here for the
rest of the mission.

RED:
On Alpha, bang the street along with Green. Move forward cautiously and fire
into the street if you can, but do not actually go into the street. Instead,
bear left, and take note of the first door on your right (this door is right
beside a ladder in the map). You'll be in there in a second. Stay bearing left
and go to the end of the alley, just to make sure there's no one there. Now
head back and enter that door beside the ladder. Bang and clear the room, then
exit out the room from the other side. You'll step onto a small porch; exit the
porch and go out onto the street, ignoring the double doors. Continue down the
street, following Green. Hold for Bravo at the wagon with barrels.

Call Bravo when Green is settled to snipe. Continue down the street (using
Green for cover fire) and enter the first door on your left. Around three
tangos will be in this room. Take them out, then head up the stairs to the
left. Enter the LEFT door. (If you enter through the right door, the hostage
will probably die because he's in the line of fire.) Once the tango nearest to
the hostage is down, circle the room and make sure the whole room is clear,
both the ground floor and the overlooking balcony. Secure the hostage, then
head back downstairs. Turn left twice and enter the door. Clear this room and
secure this hostage. Exit the building via the closest door to Green's
position. Head straight for the extraction zone, and you'll pass the mission
when both hostages are in it.

+--------------+
+------------+
||6. MISSION 3||
+------------+
+--------------+

Operation: Mountain Watch
December 2, 2005 @ 1900
Jura Canton, Switzerland

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Rainbow arrived at the last hostage situation a little too late. Even though
you got two hostages out, other terrorists took other hostages away. During the
escape, the terrorists had a car accident in a tunnel on highway N90. The
terrorists have retreated into the tunnel and are firing from the barricade of
wrecked cars.

Meanwhile, Intel is trying to figure out what the terrorists are up to. The
hostages have said that the terrorists were looking at old bank records before
going for the cash. Nothing makes sense, so hopefully you'll find someone who
can provide a couple answers.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

You'll start outside the tunnel and have to go in. The tunnel has several
entrances and multiple floors. The walls are tight and there's cover everywhere
- for you and the terrorists. Like the previous mission, these terrorists are
not very well armed. Also like the last mission, all you need to do is get out
the hostages so the priority will be on that and not wiping out the tangos.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Gold makes the first entrance and clears a path for the other two teams. Green
and Gold then set up to cover the exit route. Once they're set up, Red will go
in, get the hostages, and get out.

+-----------+
Agent Setup
+-----------+

RED:

+-------------+
Team Strategy
+-------------+

RED & GREEN:
Start the mission in the insertion zone that's outside. Red holds for Bravo,
and Green holds for Alpha.

GOLD:
Start the mission inside the cabin. Draw your pistol, and head down the stairs
and out the front door. Cross the tiny snow path and walk in front of the next
door. Open this and get ready to pull your trigger because sometimes there's a
tango there. Enter the stairwell; as soon as you do, note that there is a
terrorist directly below you. Go around the stairs and take him out when you
can. Keep going down the stairs until the floor in front of you looks a little
different than the stone; this is the bottom. You need to SATS-crouch the next
room. There will be about 5 tangos you'll have to deal with. Snipe until Alpha.

Don't call Alpha until you've waited about a minute to make sure everyone's
down. When you call it, pull your pistol out and stay crouched as you move
forward. Keep your gun favoring the right side because occasionally there's a
terrorist around the corner (if there is one, you'll see his shadow before he
can see you at all). SATS-stand the hall after you turn right at the chain link
fence (the reason for this is because there is occasionally a terrorist at the
end of the hall, and if you don't SATS, he'll see you a split second before you
see him). Follow the hallway around and look to your right as you turn left.
Remember the steel door; this is what Green will cover.

Proceed to the left. When you're at the top of the stairs, throw a smoke
grenade down to the blue door below you. By the time you get to the door, it
will have saturated. SATS-stand the next room and scan it from the safety of
the smoke. Now SATS-prone halfway between the wrecked black van and the blue
van that's against the guardrail. You need to position yourself so you're
facing the tunnel, and the concrete post nearest you is blocking your view
between the same blue van and the far wall. This way the terrorists will have
to come around the blue van to see you, by which time you'll have picked them
off. Fire off a couple warning shots, but make sure you do it before the smoke
clears. Also before the smoke clears, reload your sniper rifle. This way you
can pick off as many as you can before the computer takes over the sniper team.
Gold snipes here for the rest of the mission.

GREEN:
On Alpha, Green follows Gold, and covers the steel door I mentioned. Green will
"snipe" here for the rest of the mission.

RED:
During all this, Red stands motionless in the extraction zone outside, waiting
for Bravo. I seriously recommend you switch to Red here; the computer seems
incapable of handling this mission. I don't usually let the computer snipe for
me, but it does a good enough of a job for this one mission.

In any event, once Gold and Green are set, call Bravo. Send Red running down
the same route that Green went. Red will not have to worry about enemies as
Gold has cleaned them all out. Once you're in the same part of the tunnel as
Gold, go into the far door (the one to Gold's back). After walking through the
hole in the stone wall turn right QUICKLY. A terrorist will be there waiting to
shoot you. Take him out, then go down the hallway where he was at. Turn the
corner slowly and look up; a terrorist will see you. Crouch and slowly walk up
the ramp. Gas the room; once it goes off, go into the room still crouched. Move
slowly because you are in a crossfire and will have to take out the tangos
carefully or risk being exposed. After you take out the tangos to either side
of you, throw a second gas grenade in front of you. Walk through the stone arch
and take out any tangos remaining. There's a door to your left; inside are the
two hostages and one terrorist. If you have any doubts about your ability, use
the "open & clear" team command (accessed with the space bar) for that room.
Once that room is clear, go in and secure the hostages. With that done, go back
the way you came at full speed and get outside to the extraction zone. If Green
and Gold are still alive when Red attempts that last dash, everyone should be
able to make it out without any problems.

||7. MISSION 4||
+------------+
+--------------+

Operation: Sentinel Wolf
May 2, 2006 @ 0300
Bergen, Norway

+-----+
Story
+-----+

It's been 5 months since anything's happened but now a group of terrorists have
taken over a shipyard. They plan to destroy tankers that are being constructed
for Venezuelan oil companies. They demand the release of other terrorists who
have had issues with oil companies also. Between this mission and the first,
you can see that oil seems to be a favorite target among these terrorists.

A terrorist was captured after the Swiss incidents although he's not saying
anything yet. So far the only thing Rainbow knows about the terrorists is that
they had Argentinean passports.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

There are two major parts to this area: the docks, and the buildings and ships
themselves. The docks are wide open with plenty of sniping points that only the
terrorists can get to. The buildings and ships are a little tight, but nothing
worse than it has been. There are three bombs onsite that must be disarmed, but
you won't have to worry about disarming them directly.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Gold starts by clearing out the entire outdoor area (although Red will probably
end up helping). All three teams then enter the building from different sides.
Green will take care of the southern half of the lower floor, Red will cover
the catwalks above Green, and Gold will finish the rest of the first floor. Red
and Green then storm the offices together. After that, all three teams position
themselves near the hulls. Red and Green will secure the hulls while Gold
covers them.

RED:
Start at the western insertion zone. Turn the corner around the semi, look
east, and wait for Alpha.

GREEN:
Start at the back of the eastern insertion zone. Don't move, and wait for
Alpha.

GOLD:
Start in the eastern insertion zone in front of Green and walk up the short
ramp. SATS-prone around the corner of the boxes. Your primary target is up to
the right. A window will block the heat signature, so you'll have to blow it
out with a round, but you need to take out the tango up there, or he'll shred
you to pieces. Stay sniping for awhile and see if you can take out a couple
more enemies. Call Bravo (only for yourself) and SATS-stand around the corner
of the first box to your left. There's an enemy sniper high up in a tower to
your left. Once he's down, continue forward bearing left. Walk around the large
set of boxes, always keeping your right shoulder against them. Eventually
you'll see the semi behind which Red is stationed to your left; turn right here
and you'll see a pick-up with an oil barrel on it. Walk to the truck while
keeping an eye on your right side. Once you reach the truck, you'll have
finished clearing the area. Wait here for a moment, then call Alpha.

GREEN:
On Alpha, head forward from the insertion zone. Turn right and follow the line
of boxes all the way forward. Go up the short set of stairs on your left, and
enter the door there. Stick along the southern wall and walk through this room
(although it's not necessary, you'll pass by the first bomb, so you may want to
disarm it while you're here). Walk north past the bomb and enter the first door
on your right. Climb the stairs to get into the control room. Hold for Charlie
at the southern door that leads to the offices.

RED:
Any fighting that Red has done outside will cause enemies to come out of the
door nearest them, so that door will be open. On Alpha, go forward and throw a
flashbang inside that room. Enter it, go up the ramp partway, and throw a
flashbang ahead to your right. Take a step toward the flashbang so you can pick
off any potential threat in the adjacent room, then go up the ladder. Proceed
east along the catwalks and enter the first door you see. Walk through the same
control room where Green was and hold for Charlie at the northern door that
leads to the offices.

GOLD:
*NOTE: While Gold is doing the following, Red and Green will both signal that
they're ready for Charlie. Gold has no Charlie command, so call it as soon as
the other two are ready.*

On Alpha, enter the same door that Red does, but make sure that you're behind
them. Go up the same ramp, but wait at the top. Once Red starts heading up the
ladder, cover them by aiming up on the catwalk on the far right side. Once Red
is up on the catwalk, you can move forward.

Go into the closed door that's behind the boxes in front of you. Clear that
room, turn right, and smoke the next door before opening it. If you open it
before smoking, you may encounter a couple tangos looking right at you. Check
it out with your T-scoped sniper rifle. Once it's clear, SATS-stand the small
steps in front of you and look up to the left. The third and final sniper is up
on a ship high above you. Once he's taken out, go east and clear this entire
outdoor area. Enter the door at the far end, and clear this large room, going
counterclockwise starting from where you enter. With the first floor completely
clear, go into the eastern door in this room (you have probably already seen
Red come from that door). Descend the stairs, and you'll probably be right in
step with Green when you open the next door. Follow them as they wait for Alpha
on the stairs, and wait for Alpha yourself just behind them.

RED:
On Charlie, enter through your door and walk along the hallway. Shoot anybody
you see and go into the door at the end of the hall. Descend one flight of the
stairs and enter the first door you see. Stick along the wall to your right and
enter the first door you see. You're back in the open. Turn left and go down
the far flight of stairs, stopping before you get to the corner. Hold here for
Alpha.

GREEN:
On Charlie, enter the offices through the southern door. Go east down your
hallway, and when you get to the end, turn left. You should see Red going to
your right into the door. Turn left, going back the way Red came in. Exit out
the door they entered from and go down the stairs of the control room. Once on
the floor below, go down the next set of stairs also in the control room.
You'll eventually come to a door. Enter it, follow the hall around, and take
the first right that you can. Go far enough so that you can clear this room,
then go back into the hall (the one with the bomb), clear it, then go through
the door at the north end of the hall. Take an immediate left and go down the
stairs, stopping short of the corner.

RED:
On Alpha, turn the corner and bang the western hull (the first one you see).
Clear it, then enter the second hull from the first. Clear that, too, then
return to the hallway.

GREEN:
On Alpha, descend the steps, bang the eastern hull (the first one you see).
Clear it, then enter the center hull from the first one. Like Red, clear this,
then return to the hallway.

GOLD:
On Alpha, follow Green. Once their bang goes off, head into the hallway and
snipe down it to cover the other two teams.

Operation: Falcon Hour
March 10, 2006 @ 1300
Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands

+-----+
Story
+-----+

A small airport in Cayman Brac is the scene of a hostage crisis. American and
British officers were there to do a drug bust, but the smugglers knew they were
coming, took hostages, and opened fire.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The terrorists are spread out over three buildings and a lot of open ground.
The three buildings are a hanger, the terminal, and a small emergency building.
There are three hostages in two different locations. This time you can't just
get the hostages out; you have to take everybody down.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Gold clears the outside as Red and Green clear the emergency building. Once
that is secure, Gold snipes the other open area as Red and Green hit the
terminal. When that clears, all three teams hit the hanger.

GOLD:
Start in the eastern insertion zone. Exit the alley, turn right, and head
toward the tanker truck. SATS-prone the yellow post, facing west. Make sure you
take out the sniper that's downrange, hidden behind boxes. Snipe here until
Bravo.

GREEN:
Start in the southern insertion zone. Go forward and immediately turn left.
Follow the wall and then turn right about halfway along it. A door will be on
your right that leads into the emergency building. Enter the first door and
wait in the small room for Alpha.

RED:
Start in the southern insertion zone. Go into the other small room, the one on
the eastern wall of the emergency building. Like Green, wait by the second door
for Alpha.

*NOTE: The following part is partially based on luck, depending on the place of
tangos, the hostage might be executed and you won't be able to do a thing about
it. Most of the time, however, this will work, so if the mission fails here,
just Retry Action on the Mission Failed screen.*

When Red and Green are both ready, call Alpha. Enter the room and stay against
the southern wall (the wall where Green enters). Enter the door beside the
stairs. Clear the small room, then breech the next room. Keep moving into the
third room. When that's clear, exit out the emergency building via the north
door. Turn left and enter the door that you see. Clear this room; sometimes
there's a tango at the far end of the room. Once it's clear, exit the same way
you came, and turn left and head to the tanker truck that Gold is sniping
beside. Go behind the tanker truck and move north until you're behind two short
metal crates. Wait here for Bravo.

GREEN:
On Alpha, immediately enter the door and turn left. Head up the stairs and open
the door to the overlooking office. Gas the room, clear it, and secure the
hostage. Once you've got him, bring him to the extraction zone at full speed.
With the hostage secured, run north and stop short of Gold's position. Wait
here for Bravo.

RED:
When all three teams are ready, call Bravo. Move west along the open area, then
head south when you pass the last plane. Smoke the space between the terminal
and the hanger, then go into the terminal through the northeastern door. Head
forward and take the second left, up the stairs. Once you're on the second
floor, turn right and then immediately left. Enter this door (this is the
northern-most door on the second floor of the terminal). Clear this room, then
head through the next door. Set a breech on the first door on your right, but
don't set it off until you hear Charlie.

GOLD:
On Bravo, stop sniping and head forward. When you get to the alley between the
terminal and the hanger, wait for Red to throw the smoke grenade, and wait for
Red and Green to pass you. Follow Green into the terminal, take the first left,
and enter the door at the end of the hall. Clear this room and the adjacent
room, then throw a smoke grenade through the window. This should land roughly
the same place that Red's did. Head back outside behind your smoke grenade. Go
prone and snipe south. Wait for Charlie.

GREEN:
On Bravo, follow Gold. When Gold stops to wait for Red's smoke grenade, pass
Gold and follow Red. Enter through the same door Red does and take the same set
of steps. Once you're on the top floor, turn right twice and set a breech on
the door you see. Don't fire it off until Charlie.

If everyone is in the right spot, Green and Red are ready to breech the last
hostage room.

GOLD:
On Charlie, stop sniping and move forward. Take the first left you see up the
stairs. Enter this hall, which is the top floor of the hanger. Proceed to the
second door on your right. Open the door a crack and frag the room. Once it
goes off, open the door completely and shoot out the panes of glass with your
pistol. SATS-crouch the now-open window and snipe into the bottom floor of the
hanger. Snipe here until Alpha.

RED:
On Charlie, breech your door and run into the room. Don't secure any hostages,
just help Green clear it. Once it's clear, exit the room through the same door
you entered. Turn right and then turn left at the end of the hall. Head down
the stairs and out the door at the bottom. Move forward and take the first left
you see. Enter the door, clear the room, and exit out the other door. When the
room bends left, throw a flashbang at the end of it. After it goes off, quickly
follow your flashbang and turn right. There will be at least two tangos behind
barricades at the end of the hall. Take them out, and then go to them to make
sure there's nobody left. Exit out the southern door of the terminal and walk
through the parking lot. Take the southern door and sprint to the extraction
zone. Once there, turn left and sprint to the eastern door of the hanger. Set a
breech and wait for Alpha.

GREEN:
On Charlie, breech your door and help Red clear the room. Secure both hostages,
then exit through the far door. Move cautiously along the balcony and slide
down the ladder. Go north through the alley between the hanger and the
terminal. Turn right twice and enter the hanger through the northern door. Go
down the hallway and take the first door on your left. Set a breech at the next
door and wait for Alpha.

When all the teams are ready, call Alpha. After you make your call, breech your
door and turn left. Go through the next door and turn right. Circle south
around the first plane and go to the southwestern corner of the hanger, taking
out everyone you see.

RED:
On Alpha, breech your door and turn left. When you reach the wall, turn right
and go north until you hit the wall.

GOLD:
On Alpha, exit out of the room. If you wish, head back outside and look for
anyone you may have missed.

||9. MISSION 6||
+------------+
+--------------+

Operation: Pearl Castle
April 19, 2006 @ 1300
Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Police in Cayman Brac were going to ask routine questions of people in the
vicinity of the airport concerning that incident. When they got to the mansion
of Nikola Gospic, they were fired upon. Two of the cops were taken hostage and
the rest called in for Rainbow's assistance. Intel says that Gospic isn't home,
but considering the security he's got, he's probably tied to the incident
somehow. Your mission is to get in, wipe everyone out, and get out.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The inside of the mansion is tighter than the ships you faced in Mission 4. The
outside of the mansion is fairly open but not nearly as open as the airport.
Due to the confines of the estate, taking full teams would be suicide. There's
one hostage on the lower floor and one hostage on the upper floor.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Red and Green enter the mansion together. Red will clear most of the first
floor, all of the outside, and secure the hostage on the first floor. Green
will secure the hostage on the second floor and will clear most of the second
floor. Gold will not participate in this mission.

GREEN:
There's only one insertion zone. Start there, head forward, and go into the
garage. Sometimes a tango is in the far corner. Don't worry about the first
door you see, it leads into a laundry room and there's never anybody in there.
Turn the corner and head up the stairs. Wait at the door for Alpha.

RED:
Start in the insertion zone, head forward, and turn left. Go up the first
flight of steps, then crouch before going up the next flight. This will allow
you to stay under the living room windows and out of the sight of the tangos in
there. Wait by the front door for Alpha.

RED & GREEN:
When both teams are ready, call Alpha, open your respective doors, bang the
room, run in, and clear it.

GREEN:
Head forward and walk around the short barrier. Go into the dining room, and
from there into the kitchen. Double back the way you came, turn right when you
reach the same short barrier, and go up the stairs. When you reach the landing,
throw a flashbang up and over the railing. Head up the second part of the
stairs and go down the hallway. Stop before turning the corner and wait for
Bravo.

RED:
Once your flashbang goes off, run into the living room. Take the door at the
end of the room near the piano. Go through the next door you see. Turn left and
enter the door closest to you. Clear the room and secure the hostage. Clear out
the three rooms in this area, then go to the stairwell adjacent to the room
with the hostage. Throw a flashbang up the stairs, follow it, and enter the
next door you see. Go to the first door on your right; don't enter it but wait
for Bravo.

GREEN:
On Bravo, turn the corner and take the first door on the left. Clear the
billiard room, then go back the way you came. Go to the double doors that lead
into the master bedroom. Bang the room and clear it. Clear the balcony through
the double doors, then enter the master bedroom again. Facing the two separate
doors that both lead into the bathroom, enter the one on the left (that will be
east on the map). Run in, secure the hostage, and head for the extraction zone.

RED:
On Bravo, enter the guest room and clear it. Don't worry about the guest
bathroom, just go back into the hallway. Go into the same billiard room where
green is, but exit through the southern door. Go outside, turn left, and go
down the short flight of stairs into the pool room. From there, go to the back
yard and take out anyone you see. That should take care of it, but head to the
extraction zone if it doesn't. You'll probably see the remaining enemies on
your way.

||10. MISSION 7||
+-------------+
+---------------+

Operation: Crimson Hook
May 17, 2006 @ 0500
Pilar, Argentina

+-----+
Story
+-----+

A hostage situation has developed in Pilar. Intruders were destroying company
records at a meatpacking facility, and a guard spotted them. The guard was
killed, but he alerted police. By the time they got there, several night shift
managers had been taken hostage. The intruders opened fire with AK-47 rounds,
showing that they mean business.

The twist to this is that one of the shareholders of the facility is Nikola
Gospic, the man whose mansion you just filled with gunfire. It's because of
this connection that Rainbow was called in.

Meanwhile, more information is coming in about not only Gospic, but your
earlier missions as well. Gospic funds an Argentinian presidential candidate
named Alvaro Gutierrez. Gutierrez is supported by neo-facist organizations; in
other words, the Nazis from World War II. Not only that, but he managed to get
the passports for the terrorists involved in the Switzerland incidents.

So what we've got is terrorists connected to Gutierrez, Gutierrez connected to
Gospic, and Gospic connected to the meatpacking facility. The question at this
point is just how much everybody knows of everything.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The inside of the meatpacking facility is a little tight. There are several big
rooms, but for the most part the building is hallways. All three hostages are
in separate rooms and all are tightly guarded. You'll need to be more quiet
than anything to succeed, and you'll have to be sure to hit the hostage rooms
with perfect timing.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Red enters through the north entrance while the other two teams enter through
the south. All three teams meet up in the same room, the processing room (the
one with sinks). From there, Gold and Green will position themselves, and
together rescue the hostage in the cafeteria. All three teams will hit the
final room and rescue the last two hostages simultaneously.

RED:
Start Red in the top left corner of the insertion zone. Have them enter the
door closest to them and turn the corner into the deli. Open the double doors a
crack and bang the large room adjacent to the deli. Enter this room cautiously
and go forward and up the small set of stairs to your right. Hold for Bravo
before passing through the open-frame door.

GOLD:
Start at the south edge of the insertion zone and sprint to the door leading
into the corral. Enter and immediately turn right; there are no tangos to worry
about here. When you get to the end of the corral, SATS-crouch around the
folded door and snipe into what appears to be the killing room. There's at
least one tango in the control room, so you may need to blow out the windows of
it to see him on the T-scope. Snipe here until Alpha.

GREEN:
Follow Gold at a normal pace. By the time Gold sets up to snipe, Green should
be behind them, aiming into the same area but not sniping. Wait there for
Alpha.

GOLD:
Once several tangos are down, call Alpha and wait for Green to go ahead of you.

GREEN:
Pass Gold and turn left as soon as you enter the killing room. Go through the
first door you see into the locker room. Go to the west wall and then head
north, clearing out anyone in there. Turn left at the end and exit the locker
room. Follow the hallway around to the processing room and wait at the double
doors for Bravo.

GOLD:
After Green passes you, enter the killing room and stay along the walls of the
control room. Poke your head in to make sure it is clear, then enter the door
at the north end of the killing room (the one that leads into the room with the
forklift). Go through this room, turn left, and hold for Bravo at the open
frame that leads to the processing room.

Call Bravo and hit the processing room with the other two teams. Exit the room
the same way Green came in. Follow the hallway west and turn left when you can.
SATS-crouch the open door to your right and aim at the catwalk a little above
you. There will be at least one tango that needs to be taken out, so wait here
for Charlie.

GREEN:
On Bravo, enter the processing room and turn left. Open the door a crack and
throw a frag next to the forklift in the long room. Enter the room, clear it
out, and then exit it through the northern doors. Enter the warehouse and go up
the south staircase. Enter the hall that leads to the offices and take the
first door on the left. After passing through this door, you'll be in Gold's
crosshairs. Follow the catwalk and when it turns left, hold for Charlie.

RED:
On Bravo, pass through the open door and turn left twice. Take the long way
around, but exit through the same door that Green does. Go into the warehouse
the same way Green does, but circle inside it to make sure it's clear. When it
is, head up the north staircase in the warehouse and turn left into the
northernmost hall on the top floor. Hold for Alpha before turning the corner.

GOLD:
Once Green is ready, call Charlie and continue down the hallway you were going
down in the first place. Throw a flashbang into the cafeteria, then enter it.
Ignore the hostage and continue to the double doors that lead to the room with
three forklifts. Enter carefully because sometimes there is a tango to your
right. Bear left and enter the next set of double doors, then continue straight
and bear right. This should lead you into the same warehouse that Red and Green
have already passed through. Go into the hallway on the first floor that is
directly below Red's current position. Unlike Red, do turn the corner. Throw a
smoke grenade next to the door but do not open it yet. Instead, wait for Alpha.
Don't worry because it shouldn't be too long before you call it.

GREEN:
On Charlie, head down the stairs. Gold's flashbang should go off JUST before
you enter the cafeteria. Take down anyone near the hostage and secure said
hostage. Make sure there's nobody else in the cafeteria, then head back up the
stairs. Cross the catwalk again and hold for Alpha at the door that leads to
the hallway with the offices.

RED:
On Alpha, turn the corner and open the door. Walk onto the catwalk and make a
beeline for the hostage that's standing in the middle of it. Secure the
hostage, then head down the stairs of the catwalk.

GOLD:
On Alpha, open the door and immediately back up so you're behind the smoke.
Turn on your T-scope and snipe anyone on the lower floor that you can. Enter
the room and immediately turn right because sometimes a tango is there. If it's
clear, continue to the end of this room.

GREEN:
On Alpha, enter the hallway and enter the first office. Clear it, then exit out
onto the catwalk. Go to the end of the catwalk and enter the second office.
Secure the hostage there and that should end the mission.

+-------------+
+---------------+

Operation: Stone Cannon
June 10, 2006 @ 0500
Porto Alegre, Brazil

+-----+
Story
+-----+

With all these missions happening in the Western Hemisphere, Rainbow has
temporarily moved from Hereford, England, to Langley, USA.

A U.S. Coast Guard cutter intercepted a freighter. On board were drugs,
weapons, and propaganda for the Nazis. The ship was heading for a specific
shipping firm in Porto Alegre, Brazil. This company was also mentioned by some
of the terrorists who survived the Cayman Brac ordeals. With a link
established, the Brazilian government watched the shipping firm. They managed
to get footage of many illegal things going into and out of the warehouse. In
addition to weapons and drugs, ingredients for chemical weapons were also
discovered. Although Rainbow doesn't normally do police actions like this, John
Clark managed to get permission to have Rainbow confiscate the contraband.

The ingredients spotted seemed to be for a chemical weapon called VX. VX is a
nerve gas that causes quick and painful death from even the smallest doses. It
can kill you whether you inhale it or touch it, and it decomposes at a very
slow rate. Needless to say, the stuff has got to be taken off the streets.

Intel, meanwhile, has confirmed the motive behind the meatpacking plant
incident. The intruders wanted to destroy 40 years worth of financial records
while leaving the rest of the plant intact. Luckily for Intel, the intruders
missed the backups. So Intel is now going through them to see if they can find
any clues.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

There's one large building and one tiny building, connected via a second-story
walkway. Outside of the buildings, the areas are open and spacious with little
cover. Inside, the rooms are a little larger than what you've experienced
before. The problem is that the enemies are better armed and must be dealt with
accordingly.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Gold starts by clearing the way for Red and Green. They clear the first floor
of the small building and set up to snipe one of the open areas. Green will
then clear the entire second floor of both buildings, while Red will hit some
of the first floor of the larger building. All three teams enter the first
warehouse together, and then enter the second warehouse together. Though there
are no hostages, stealth is necessary for two of the teams.

Team Strategy
+-------------+

RED & GREEN:
All three teams start at the northeastern insertion zone. Red and Green will
immediately wait for Alpha behind Gold.

GOLD:
Walk out of the alley and aim up with the AW Covert. A tango will be in a
balcony, and if you don't take him out now, he will see you and things won't be
pretty from the start. Once he's down, look left at the street level and keep
walking out onto the street. A tango will have his back to you, because he'll
be working on a car. Rainbow is not about honor; put a sniper round through the
back of his skull. With that done, enter through the door to your right that
leads into the smaller building. Turn left and enter through the door at the
end of the hall and go into the locker room. There is sometimes a tango in
here, so let your assaulter clear the room. Once that is done, exit the locker
room through the other door and then open the next door that you see. An enemy
will be in here, and he'll be facing you, but he's watching a test screen on
the TV, so you'll be able to catch him off-guard. Open the door and quickly put
a couple rounds in his face, then continue through the hallway. Take the last
door and quickly move past the window. Open the door slowly because sometimes
there is a tango right there. Once you're outside, SATS-prone around the corner
and aim into the open field. You should be able to immediately take out at
least two enemies from your location. Snipe here until Bravo. Once you're
settled, call Alpha.

*NOTE: Red and Green do the following steps at the same time, as always through
this FAQ. However, these are going to be long, so bear with me.*

RED:
On Alpha, walk into the street. Turn left and head toward the car that the now-
dead tango was working on. Look right, into the open area, in case someone can
see you. Continue south past the car and turn right. Open the northeastern door
to the larger building (it should be the closest door to you). Gas and clear
the room, then enter the door closest to the ladder. Cautiously creep through
this room and go into the hallway. Make a quick U-turn and enter the door into
the next room. Still staying low to the ground, open the door that leads to the
lobby. Frag the room, then clear it. Go behind the divider wall and clear the
room adjacent to the lobby. Exit back into the lobby, then go into the hall.
Make your way out of the building the same way you came in.

Once you come back to the same car, turn left and walk under the skyway. When
you reach the dumpsters, go south along the white trailer truck. Hold for Bravo
at the tiny set of steps right before the loading dock. If you're positioned
right, Gold should not be able to see you.

GREEN:
On Alpha, walk into the street and enter the smaller building through the same
door that Gold did. Unlike Gold, however, turn right and go up the stairs.
Enter the room at the top and clear it. Head onto the skyway and go into the
larger building. Cross the catwalk and enter the first door you see (the one
closest to the ladder). Enter the next room and turn left through the door.
Bang the balcony, then follow it and aim down onto the street. There should be
a tango next to a car that you can reach from here. When he's down, go back
into the building. Go south and enter the room that's at the corner of the
building. Clear it, then return for the third time into the bigger room.

(In my downloadable plan, Green calls Milestone #1 here. This signifies that
Green is about to enter the biggest room on the second floor.)

Throw a frag into the large room, then cautiously enter it and clear it. Go
south and head onto the south balcony via the unlocked door. Clear the entire
balcony and go back into the room through the locked door. Enter the very small
room adjacent to the big room. There will be an enemy here, but you'll have a
split-second advantage because he'll be watching a race on TV. Exit the small
room and head toward the door that leads outside.

(Green calls Milestone #2 here. This signifies that they are done with the
second floor.)

Open the door and head down the stairs. There are at most two tangos outside.
Take them out, then go under the stairs and head back into the larger building.
Turn right, go through the door, and clear the last room on the first floor
(aside from the warehouses). Exit into the hallway, turn left, go through the
hall, and wait for Bravo by the last door on your right.

ALL TEAMS:
When all teams are ready, call Bravo. On Bravo, sprint into the western-most
warehouse. Gold will probably end up not seeing any action since they will take
the longest to get there. All teams wait for Charlie in the middle of the first
warehouse in order to make sure the room is clear and to make sure all teams
are ready. When they are, call Charlie and have all three teams rush into the
central warehouse. Have all three teams spread out to make sure every point is
covered.

This should end the mission, but still make another couple waypoints for Red.
Send them into the room where they threw the gas grenade (it's adjacent to the
second warehouse). If the mission is still not done, have Gold use their
Heartbeat Sensor and sweep the building. Typically, if any tangos were missed,
they were high up in one of the warehouses.

||12. MISSION 9||
+-------------+
+---------------+

Operation: Shattered Glass
August 9, 2006 @ 0900
Buenos Aires, Argentina

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Because it's now confirmed that Gutierrez helped the terrorists in Switzerland,
suspicions have been raised about him and Gospic. Intel picked up Gospic, who
claims to have nothing to do with the incidents in his mansion and the
meatpacking facility. There is no hard evidence against him, so for now he must
be taken on his word.

However, because he's supporting Gutierrez, we can't rule him out. Since
Gutierrez has been linked to the terrorist acts, Rainbow has been authorized to
spy on Gutierrez. Rainbow needs to plant a couple bugs in Gutierrez's
penthouse, but must do so quietly or Gutierrez will know something's up. To aid
in this mission, the Argentinean police are making a ruckus Gutierrez's office.
This is drawing Gutierrez and most of his guards away from your objective.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The penthouse is composed of four floors. You must plant a bug on a computer
which is on the second floor. You must also plant a bug on one of two phones,
which are located on the first floor and the third floor.

You're not allowed to fire a single round, and you're not allowed to be
spotted; you need to be the shadow that walks, or something.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Red team will infiltrate the building and plant the bugs. Green team will... I
don't know, play Pokemon or something.

+-----------+
Agent Setup
+-----------+

Because this is a special mission, the people I suggest for the Red team are
very specific.

RED (Player team):
Yacoby, Ayana*

*NOTE: If she's not available, use Woo, Tracy. If neither of them is available,
use Maldini, Antonio. If none of your recon specialists are available (backups
excluded), use Chavez, Ding. If you're still short on people, find someone with
high stealth and high electronics.*

GREEN:
Lofquist, Annika*

*NOTE: You can use ANYONE for Green; however, I use Lofquist because there's no
other use for her in the campaign... and she's hot.*

+---------+
Equipment
+---------+

RED:
Light armor
None*
AP Army, silenced
Heartbeat sensor
Electronics kit

GREEN:
Light armor
None*
AP Army, silenced
None
None

*NOTE: To select no primary weapon, scroll above the submachine guns and select
the word "None".*

*NOTE: Green can carry anything they want to, but for simplicity's sake, this
is the equipment I recommend.*

+-------------+
Team Strategy
+-------------+

RED:
Start by walking forward and opening the metal door to the fire escape. There
are no enemies here, so you can run down the whole tower of stairs. There is
another metal door at the foot of the stairs that actually leads to the
penthouse itself. Enter, still running, and open the door at the end of the
short hallway. There are still no enemies here, don't worry. Slow down to a
normal walking speed. Stick against the right wall until you come to a pair of
steps, and PEEK around the left edge. You'll see a pair of double doors made of
glass. You can see through them, and yes, so can the tangos on the other side.

However, of the three guys in the other room, two are engrossed in a soccer
game with their backs to you. The third is walking around randomly, so you need
to look for him. Unfortunately, you're too far away to use the Heartbeat
Sensor. For this little predicament, I actually draw my pistol. I play the
single-player game with Auto-Aim (yeah, I know, I'm a wuss), so the crosshairs
jump whenever the guy comes into view. That will help you figure when he leaves
as well; once he walks off to the left, you can proceed. Walk to the set of
stairs on your left, and go up the stairs until your gun is in line with the
edge of the wall on your right.

Now, don't whip out your Heartbeat Sensor here. There is only one guard who is
patrolling this area in a clockwise pattern that you need to avoid, but there
might be as many as three blips on your sensor due to various people running
around. Just wait there, peeking to the left. The guard will never see you,
because he'll walk past your position, and you'll see his back as he moves.

Once he passes you, go forward to the next corner. He's taken a turn down the
hallway that you want to go to, so wait. Make sure you're WAY behind the
corner, because he's going to come back toward you. Take out your Heartbeat
Sensor here; he'll be the only one who will probably show up, but even if he's
not, it won't be too hard to figure out which blip is his. Wait until he goes
off to your right, then hurry down the hallway he just came from (DO NOT RUN,
he might hear you).

To the right in that hallway is a set of glass double doors like what you saw
downstairs. Go in, and you'll find a desk with a laptop. MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE
THE DOOR BEHIND YOU. If for some reason you get delayed and the guard sees the
open door, he WILL come and investigate. Get behind the desk and hold down the
space bar to start planting the bug on the computer. The electronics kit will
operate by itself, and the bug will be complete in 7 to 8 seconds.

Now you have a choice. If you want to be aggressive, you can immediately exit
the room (SHUT THE DOOR BEHIND YOU again), and run to the right for the stairs.
If you were as smooth as James Bond planting the bug, then the guard will
probably still be out of position. However, if you got delayed for whatever
reason, then you may want to wait for the guard to complete another lap before
exiting the office. Should you choose to wait, hang out near the statue on the
left facing the doors from the inside. (If you're by the right statue, he can
see you.) Use the Heartbeat Sensor to watch him, and when he starts to head
back toward the center of the building, go on to the stairs on the right.

Whether or not you were aggressive getting there, climb the short flight of
steps and stick against the right wall. Wait once you get to the corner.
There's another single guard here, but he's patrolling counter-clockwise. You
can pick him up on the Heartbeat Sensor once he circles along the nearest hall,
but you don't have to bother with it. Just peek around the left corner and wait
to see him cross the hallway from left to right.

Once he passes to the right, head forward and turn left, heading down the
direction he came from. Along the left wall is a door; enter it, and close it
behind you. You're now in the master bedroom, which has a phone on the far
wall. Simply walk up to the phone and hold the space bar to plant a bug on the
phone.

GREEN:
Green has the sole objective of walking ten feet from the insertion zone to the
extraction zone. See, the game will merely check that SOMEONE is in the
extraction zone; it won't care whether the agent there is actually the one who
was inside.

Now, obviously this objective takes about one second, so if you want them to do
something while Red is doing its thing, have them run laps around the roof. Or,
if you want to give them some exercise, have them run up and down the tower of
stairs that Red used to enter the building. Use your imagination! Basically,
their activity doesn't matter as long as 1) they don't get anywhere near an
enemy, and 2) they end in the extraction zone, hopefully by the time Red is
done.

+-------------+
12a. The Turn
+-------------+

After Mission 9, the enemies become harder, they fire sooner, they're smarter,
and they tend to see things a little quicker. From here on out, do not expect
to get through missions without taking a bullet anymore. That's not to say
you'll be losing people left and right, but you may start having to use
replacements to the agent suggestions.

+----------------+

Operation: Lion Shadow
September 23, 2006 @ 1500
London, England

+-----+
Story
+-----+

A banking house in England is your next setting. Terrorists have taken
hostages, and of course you're the one who has to rescue them. In addition to
the hostages, the terrorists want to destroy some financial records for some
reason.

The leader of these terrorists is Douglas Preston. He's a former soldier in the
British Army, with time served in Kuwait under his belt. Once he returned to
Britain, he killed his own reputation by publicly sympathizing with the Unified
People's Front, an organization that supports the neo-Nazis. Kevin Sweeney
guesses that Preston might have some connection to Gutierrez.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The banking house has three floors. They're tight but there are multiple ways
to be seen. Also, one terrorist has commandeered the bank's security system. If
he knows Rainbow is there, he'll raise the alarm.

One hostage is on the first floor, two hostages are in the basement, and the
financial records are on the second floor. That means your teams will have to
explore the entire building before you can succeed.

These terrorists are well-armed and they have body armor, so you need a little
bit more firepower than usual.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Gold takes care of the security system and a high sniper. After that, Green and
Red break in and go to the second floor. All three teams secure the first
hostage, and then Red secures the financial documents. Red and Green will clear
the second floor while Gold clears the first floor. All three teams will then
head into the basement and secure the last two hostages.

+-------------+
Team Strategy
+-------------+

RED:
There is only one insertion zone to start in. From it, go to the left door of
the front set. Plant a breech and wait for Charlie.

GREEN:
Sprint north and around the corner. Set up in front of the side door and wait
for Bravo.

GOLD:
For this initial part, go by Recon rules (that is, don't shoot unless you are
fired upon). Follow Green and climb up the double-decker bus. Select your
sniper, go prone, and snipe the terrorist in the security room. Because the
sniper rifle is not silenced, you will attract some attention (which is wanted
in this case). As Gold, cover the room because sometimes some terrorists will
run in there. Green, meanwhile, will have the side door covered, so you'll be
safe. Enemies will not come out of the front door. Snipe on the bus until
Alpha.

After several terrorists have been taken out (as many as seven might go down by
the time you and Green are done), call Alpha. Leave the bus and go to the
northwest corner of the building. SATS-stand around the corner; there will only
be one person you'll have to deal with, and he's on a second-floor balcony.
Once he's down, call Bravo. Sprint to the back set of double doors. Don't
bother calling a code; just enter the building from there. You'll be greeted by
a terrorist just in front of the door. Take him out, then turn right. Go down
the hall and take the first door on your right. There is sometimes a terrorist
in the next couple rooms, and sometimes there isn't. Go south as far as you
can, then turn east when you have no choice. Exit out the door that is next to
the steps. Go down the hallway next to the steps and wait by the metal door
until Alpha.

GREEN:
On Bravo, enter your door, turn left, and stop just short of the first door on
your right. Wait for Charlie.

RED:
When Green is in position for it, call Charlie. Breech your door and turn left
in the lobby. Head up the staircase and wait for Alpha behind the door that
leads to the balcony that overlooks the main floor.

GREEN:
On Charlie, run into the lobby. Go up the staircase nearest to you, stop short
of the door the same way Red is, and wait for Alpha.

Call Alpha when all three teams are ready for it. Go out onto the balcony, go
west, and turn right at the end of the balcony. Turn right again and head into
the conference room, shooting as you go. Clear the conference room and then
exit out on the same side as you came in but through the other door. Clear out
all the small rooms west of the conference room. With that done, head down the
stairs closest to out and clear out the rooms in the northwest corner of the
first floor. Pick the lock that leads to the stairway to the basement. Head
down the stairs to the basement, turn left, and wait for Bravo before turning
the last corner.

RED:
On Alpha, go to the balcony and walk along it on the opposite side of Green.
Once you get to your end, turn around and go back the way you came. Turn right
(in my downloadable plan, Red calls Milestone 1 here; this marks that they are
about to enter the financial records room). Turn right and head straight for
the computer in the corner of the room. With the records secure, clear out the
southern half of the second floor. Make your way slowly west through all the
rooms until you get to the lavish waiting room. Clear that, then head down the
same set of stairs that Green took. Turn right twice and go through the metal
door you see that leads to the tellers' area (Gold has already picked it for
you). Go down the stairs behind it and continue along the only path in the
basement. Hold for Bravo before you get to the bulletproof window.

GOLD:
On Alpha, open the door leading to the tellers' area. Take out the tango there,
then exit through the other door. Turn right twice and go into the large main
room. All three teams will have cleared everyone out of here by now, so secure
the hostage and continue south. Clear the two small offices on the south side,
then exit the building through the front doors. Take the hostage to the
extraction zone, then go back inside. Follow Green's path, and wait behind them
in the basement for Bravo.

RED:
Call Bravo when all three teams are ready. Run to the door and breech it. You
will be spotted, but meanwhile...

GREEN:
On Bravo, turn the corner and head toward the vault. You and Red will probably
be spotted at the same time. While Red works on the door, clear out anyone who
comes out into the hallway, but getting into the vault is your priority. Once
inside, whack the tangos and secure the hostages.

GOLD:
On Bravo, follow Green. Cover their tail and take out anyone that goes into the
hallway. Take the first door on your right and clear that room if it isn't
already.

RED:
Once you're through your door, turn left and take the first door on your left.
Clear that room if anyone's there, then clear the small room adjacent to where
you are.

||14. MISSION 11||
+--------------+
+----------------+

Operation: Broken Stone
November 11, 2006 @ 1100
Pilar, Argentina

+-----+
Story
+-----+

The documents you saved from the last mission provided one of the last pieces
of the puzzle. During the Second World War, Hitler's people systematically
stole assets from Holocaust victims. Different people are listed (I assume as
the money holders), including Peja Sicic. In case you've forgotten, he was the
one who was going to be deported in Mission 1.

The financial records also mention a man named Dejan Blazevic. Intel got old
pictures of Blazevic and electronically aged them. The result is someone who
looks strikingly like Nikola Gospic. Blazevic/Gospic escaped from Europe in
1945. When news broke of Sicic's deportation, Gospic was afraid that his own
cover would be blown. So Gospic staged the attempted raid on the Venezuelan oil
refinery.

As Kevin Sweeney says, there's more bad news. Intel has discovered that the
import/export business you dealt with in Brazil is owned by Gutierrez, and
Gutierrez's company does a lot of business with other companies owned by
Gospic. Specifically, Gospic's meatpacking company in Pilar was mentioned
several times in phone conversations the two men had (heard thanks to your
planted bugs in Mission 9). They discussed plans for that meatpacking company:
the use of the VX chemical weapon in the food.

With all this information, Rainbow has been ordered to head back to Pilar to
collect any VX they find inside the meatpacking company.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

You've been here before, so the layout is familiar and the mission is during
the day, not night. However, you're dealing with more enemies who are better
armed. Luckily, there are no hostages to deal with.

The VX is a problem by itself. It's so lethal that John Clark doesn't want a
drop to be exposed. There are three locations where the VX is, and the valves
can only be opened by tangos in hazmat suits (the containers seem to be
bulletproof, too).

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Red clears most of the first floor and all of the outside. They will end up
securing one of the three VX locations. Green and Gold, meanwhile, will secure
the second VX location. After that, all three teams secure the last VX
location, and together hit the final room.

GREEN:
All three teams start in the cafeteria. Start by going around the tables and
wall and wait for Alpha by the door leading to the large room with the VX.

GOLD:
Exit the cafeteria through the door leading into the room with the two
forklifts. Turn left so you face the hallway leading into the room with the VX,
but don't advance yet and don't fire; just wait for Alpha.

GREEN:
Call Alpha when both teams are ready. Open the door and clear the room,
starting with anyone near the VX. Circle the room to make sure it's empty, then
go back into the cafeteria. Go up the stairs and wait for Bravo by the door at
the end of the catwalk.

GOLD:
On Alpha, sprint down the hallway. A tango will probably be in your way, so
just run and gun him. Still at full speed, open the doors leading to the VX
room. Help Green clear it, then go back the way you came. Wait for Bravo by the
double doors in the hallway linking the forklift room with the VX room.

RED:
Start the mission in the cafeteria like the other two teams. Exit the cafeteria
through the open door and go into the hallway. Take the first right into the
locker room. Clear this room, then exit out the door to go into the killing
room. Head north and enter the small room with the single forklift. Go through
this room, turn left, and sprint into the room with the VX. Walk onto the short
catwalk, and you'll have a good view of the whole room, especially the VX
container. Clear the room, then go through the open door on the catwalk. Turn
right and clear this large room. Next open the door to the deli and clear it.
Continue through the deli, through the hallway, and exit to the outside.

Proceed south, sticking against the wall. Clear anyone you see and re-enter the
building via the corral. Clear the corral, then sprint back to the VX room you
cleared. Exit it through the west door to go into the long warehouse. Hold for
Bravo at the first double doors that lead to the last VX room.

Call Bravo when all three teams are ready. Sprint through both sets of double
doors and head straight for the VX container. Run through the room and hold for
Charlie at the double doors that lead to the last room.

GOLD:
On Bravo, sprint into the final VX room. Bear left so you don't run into Red.
Clear anyone on your side and continue forward into the hallway that wraps
around to the final room. Wait for Charlie by the door.

GREEN:
On Bravo, go through the door and go onto the catwalk overlooking the final VX
room. Walk along it and exit the room north through the hallway that's above
Gold. Wait for Charlie by the door.

ALL TEAMS:
When all three teams are ready, call Charlie. Hit and clear the final room to
finish the mission.

Operation: Briar Gate
December 22, 2006 @ 1710

Intel has traced the origins of the VX ingredients. Preston managed to buy it
from the black market, who in turn got it a long time ago from the USSR. The
problem is Preston didn't just pick up the VX; he also got ingredients to make
more, along with another chemical which is probably a blistering agent.

You got the ingredients to the VX when you cleared the import/export business
in Brazil. However, the blistering agent is unaccounted for. Because Gospic
seems to be involved, Rainbow has been authorized to go back to his mansion and
search it.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

Like the last stage, you've been here before, so the layout should be familiar.
Yet again there are no hostages, but also yet again there are more, better-
armed enemies. Also, as soon as you are spotted, they'll try to destroy
evidence that could incriminate Gospic. That is something you'll definitely
have to prevent from happening.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

This one is simple: Green clears the entire second floor while Red and Gold
clear the first floor and the garage.

RED:
Start as far forward as possible in the insertion zone. Head forward and throw
the flashbang into the courtyard. Take two rights and go poolside. Wait for
Alpha by the double doors that lead to the main part of the mansion.

GOLD:
Follow Red until they turn toward the pool. When they do, wait for Alpha by the
double doors, near the picnic table, that lead to the main part of the house.

GREEN:
Follow Gold and assist both teams in clearing out the outside. Follow Red up
toward the pool, but go up the stairs that lead to the overlooking balcony.
Turn right to go into the first door that you can, which will lead into the
billiard room. Clear it, then go back out onto the balcony. Enter the guest
bedroom, clear that, then go into the hallway. Head east through the hallway
and take the last door on your right. Follow the hallway around and go into the
master bedroom. Clear this and the adjacent balcony and bathroom.

GOLD:
Call Alpha when you and Red are ready. Enter the mansion at a normal speed, and
follow your hallway around into the large central room. You should get there
roughly the same time Red does. Help them clear it, then continue into the
living room. Once you are clear of the central room, RUN to the computer room.
If you get delayed for any reason, you might fail the mission because the
evidence was destroyed. Once you get the room clear, exit out into the small
courtyard and clear the three rooms in the northwest corner. Head up the
nearest flight of stairs and clear that, but don't go into the second floor
hallway. Just wait at the top landing.

RED:
Enter your door at a normal speed and head toward the center of the mansion.
Turn right as soon as you can, so you go into the dining room. Continue to the
kitchen, then exit to the outside. Head down to the driveway and, when the
outside is clear, re-enter the house via the garage. Go upstairs, go through
the living room, and go into the computer room (which Gold should have already
secured).

+--------------+
+----------------+

Operation: Talon Steel
December 22, 2006 @ 2330
Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Rainbow just found out that INTERPOL had a man inside Gospic's operation. He
just called in from the Cayman Brac Airport and provided the rest of the
information:

Gospic's people were at the airport trying to smuggle the blistering agent to
Rio de Janeiro. A large parade for a holiday called the Festas Juninas is set
to start in Rio soon. Gospic, who Intel has found out to be terminally ill, is
crazy enough to kill himself in a very public demonstration. The blistering
agent gives him a good tool for it.

Although in theory, Gospic's death might be a cause for celebration, there's a
world-scale problem: thanks to the information found on the documents recovered
from the second meatpacking plant mission, Intel now knows that Gospic has been
sending money to support a new Nazi movement. Upon Gospic's death, all his
money would transfer to an anonymous benefactor who will start the movement.

The INTERPOL agent I mentioned has unfortunately been killed. INTERPOL
immediately responded and, although they didn't make much progress, they did 1)
shut down the airport, thus preventing the enemies' escape; and 2) confiscate
aerosol equipment which is probably the method Gospic plans to use to
distribute the nerve gas.

Rainbow has been called in to clean out the rest of the airport and try to pick
up any final clue.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

It's deja vu all over again (don't you hate that phrase? I do, too.). For the
third time in a row, you're revisiting an old stage. For the third time in a
row, hostages are not part of the equation this time. For the third time in a
row, there are more and better-armed enemies.

The problem is that this won't be as simple as the last two. The enemies are
MUCH better armed, including a few snipers that will be tough to take out.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

This is about as freeform as it gets in this game. Red partially clears one
parking lot while Gold partially clears the other parking lot, and Green loads
up their saved Pokemon game from Mission 9. Then Green will finish clearing out
the first parking lot and join Red in the terminal while Gold goes to the first
parking lot. Green and Red clear the terminal and Gold stirs up trouble in the
hangar. Gold will then make their way to the second parking lot and the runway,
shooting the whole way. All three teams will basically cross each other and
line up to hit the hangar, taking out anyone left.

+-------------+
Team Strategy
+-------------+

GREEN:
Start in the insertion zone and wait for Alpha.

GOLD:
Turn east and sprint to the far corner of the emergency building. SATS-prone
for Alpha around the corner. Your main target is a sole tango who is usually
behind the fire truck, and you can shoot him under it. If he's not there, he's
patrolling left and right. Make sure you wait and take him out before moving
on.

RED:
From the insertion zone, head into the west parking lot through the door. Use
the two vans for cover and wait for Alpha by the second van so you can see the
door to the terminal but still have cover on your right side.

GOLD:
Let me stress again: do NOT call Alpha until that tango outside is down. Once
he is and all three teams are ready, call Alpha. Head north and take the first
door on your left, which leads to the eastern small room which is adjacent to
the emergency building. There is always a tango in the small room, so be ready
to pull the trigger. Continue into the main room of the emergency building
proper. If there is a tango here, he will be on the other side of the fire
truck, probably with his back to you. If he isn't there, don't worry about
looking for him. Either way, continue out through the north door and step back
outside. Aim right because sometimes an enemy has come to investigate the
corpse of the patrolling tango that you've taken down. Once it's safe, go into
the room on the left that links the two parking lots. Use the space bar to
order your partner to open and clear the door to the second parking lot. While
he's picking the lock, cover the door you used to enter this room. When he
announces it's clear, hit R to get him back to you and head out into the second
parking lot. Throw a smoke grenade into the alley between the terminal and the
hangar. Once it saturates, crouch against the tanker truck and snipe north
until Bravo.

RED:
On Alpha, throw a smoke grenade against the door to the terminal. Cautiously
move toward your smoke grenade, enter the terminal, and turn left. By the time
you do all that, the smoke grenade will have magically penetrated the walls and
will keep you safe from tangos in a perfect ambush position in the airport's
lobby. Hold for Bravo when you reach the gift shop desk.

GREEN:
On Alpha, sprint through the door that Red used to go into the west parking
lot. Run between the two vans, and as you move, watch Red's back as they throw
the smoke grenade and enter the terminal. Hold for Bravo at the rear corner of
the tanker truck.

GOLD:
Don't call Bravo until you have taken out the sniper who is laying under the
plane on the runway (you can reach him even if you're directly against the
tanker truck). Once you're sure he's down, and all three teams are ready, call
Bravo.

Turn right and head up the stairs. Go all the way to the end of the hall and
take out the sniper in that last room. After you do so, exit the building the
same way you came. Cross through the small room again to go back to the east
parking lot. When you come to the corner of the building on your left, SATS-
stand around it. When it's clear, move east and go north around the ambulance.
When you reach the second ambulance, SATS-stand around that. Now, enemies will
probably be in all directions, so aim quickly and accurately; try to take down
everyone on the runway using only one smoke grenade. When it seems clear, move
north and go behind the short steel crates. Go prone and snipe until Charlie,
facing the general direction of the alley.

RED:
On Bravo, move forward and go toward the security checkpoint of the terminal.
Clear the smaller rooms to the west, then enter the hallway with the staircase.
Hold for Charlie before actually coming to the staircase.

GREEN:
On Bravo, go into the terminal the same way Red did. However, instead of
turning left, go straight through the crooked hallway. Clear the small office
and then go into the hallway in front of the bathrooms. Turn right, then left,
and right again. If you're at the right place, you'll be standing in front of a
door that leads to a bigger office. Enter and clear it, then exit out the west
door into that hallway. Follow that around and turn left. You'll probably see
Red, either holding for Charlie or almost there. Turn left and go up the stairs
to the second floor. Once you're on the second floor, turn right, then left,
and go into the room that is closest to the runway. Clear it and go into the L-
shaped hallway. From there, enter the room where the hostages were the first
time you came here. Clear that room, then exit out onto the balcony. Slide down
the ladder and wait for Charlie between the dumpster and the corner of the
building leading to the alleyway.

RED:
When all three teams are in position, make sure Gold has no targets to snipe,
then call Charlie. You're going to be running for this entire step. Exit the
building through the closest door (the one closest to the alley). Run all the
way across the runway and, when you turn the corner south toward the
ambulances, wait for Alpha a good distance from the door.

GREEN:
On Charlie, go through the alley at a normal speed. You'll probably see Red
running past; just ignore them. Turn right twice, enter the hangar, and go into
the hallway. Take the first door on your left and wait for Alpha in the middle
of the office, facing the door that leads to the hangar proper.

GOLD:
Like Red, you'll be sprinting through this whole step. As soon as you hear
Charlie, sprint to the same door that Green will take into the hangar. You will
probably see Red go past you and you'll probably beat Green into the hangar.
Either way, once you're inside, slow down to a normal speed and walk to the end
of the hallway. Head up the stairs, turn right, and go through the second door
on your right, into the room with the glass window. Take out the tango inside
the room and blow out the panes of glass. SATS-stand the room and snipe into
the hangar. Snipe here until Alpha, but feel free to make as much noise as you
want. With any luck, terrorists will think they can come upstairs after you.
However, as they try, Green will blow them away.

RED:
When all teams are ready for Alpha, wait a bit until Gold and Green have taken
out as many tangos as they can. Call Alpha when you're satisfied and throw a
smoke grenade next to the eastern door of the hangar. Crouch and move
cautiously to that door; by the time you get there, the grenade will have
saturated. Enter the door and turn right. Go as far as you can and go around
the dividing wall. Duck under the starboard wing of the plane and continue
south. Loop around the forklift and go under the tail of the plane. Head back
to the door you took to get in here, but approach it from the south since you
already cleared the north.

GREEN:
On Alpha, throw a smoke grenade at the door leading into the hangar. It will
not have time to saturate before you start moving, but it will provide enough
of a distraction to help keep you alive. Go through the door and turn left.
Exit the tiny room and go around the small dividing wall. Go under the port
wing of the plane and continue all the way south. Clear the storeroom at the
south end of the hangar.

GOLD:
If Red and Green finish their routes and have not taken everybody out, check to
see if you can snipe someone from your position. If you can't, go downstairs
into the office where Green waited for Alpha, and go through their door into
the hangar. Turn right instead of left and sweep the hangar one more time.

||17. MISSION 14||
+--------------+
+----------------+

Operation: Whisper Blade
February 4, 2007 @ 1100
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Intel has recovered a notebook kept by the agent who was killed before the last
mission. It has an address where Gospic's people have been building a parade
float. It also has the time the float will be sent into the parade and the fact
that Gutierrez will be in the vicinity. Every year, Gospic sponsors such a
float in the Festas Juninas parade. So what we've got is Gospic's float in the
streets with a whole bunch of people and a blistering agent when we know he
possessed aerosol equipment. It doesn't take Jack Bauer to figure out what's
going on.

The parade float may have left the garage already, but even if it has, the
garage should have plenty of clues, and we can grab Gutierrez while we're
there.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

The garage is very tight with little cover and a crapload of tangos. Gutierrez
must be captured alive, so you can't just run through shooting randomly.
Luckily, he is always in the same room. The other major problem comes from the
terrorists' placement. Most of them are in groups and can cover doors very
easily. I found that the most effective strategy is to SATS the hell out of it,
so that's what we're going to be doing.

Oh, by the way, I redefine the term "sniper team" here. You'll see it in a
couple sections.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Green will do most of the clearing. They will hit almost every room and will be
solely responsible for Gutierrez's capture. Red, though technically the lead
team, will be playing a strictly supporting role. Gold will not be
participating this time.

<>
This mission needs to be run and described a little differently than my
previous ones. As you've probably noticed, throughout this guide I've been
giving team instructions go-code by go-code. The beginning of this mission,
however, will not be that formal. Also, because of the number of smoke grenades
that are going to be thrown here, you must always know how many your current
sniper has. Between fire fights, switch to the next sniper (using the Page Up
or Page Down keys) if the current sniper has run out. Also feel free to use
more smoke grenades than I mention if you're not as good with SATSing yet.

I know these circumstances are a bit strange, but bear with me because this is
the only mission like this.
<>

GREEN:
Start at the front of the insertion zone and walk out into the alley. Turn
right and, as you approach the barrels, throw a smoke grenade or two in the gap
in the fence. Go through that gap, turn right, and enter the building. Take out
anyone you initially see, then throw a smoke grenade at the intersection of the
hallways. Go down your hallway and turn left twice. There will be at least one
tango after you make that turn. After you take him out, wait for Alpha.

RED:
Start beside Green and stay crouched. Slowly walk into the alleyway to the left
of Green. Don't go through the gap in the fence until the smoke grenade has
saturated. Once it does, go through the gap and turn left. Move to the end of
the alley and enter the building from that door. Turn right enough so you can
see into the next room and hold for Alpha.

GREEN:
When both teams are ready, call Alpha. Your smoke grenade should still be
active, but throw another one at the same place. Walk into the middle of all
the smoke and turn left. SATS-stand into the repair/maintenance garage.

RED:
On Alpha, head into the room with the bathrooms. Go around the corner and go
into the same garage into which Green is SATSing. Go around the dividing wall
and head into the door that leads to the storage room adjacent to the garage.
Clear and continue through this room and go through the door at the end of it.
If you're in the right place, you'll only be a few feet from where Green held
for Alpha. Go forward into the door which sits at the intersection of all the
hallways. Go into that small office and wait for Bravo.

GREEN:
As you just read, Red is coming into here, so make sure you SATS quickly. Once
you're satisfied, or once you see Red (whichever comes first), stop SATSing and
move forward. Go through the garage, heading south. When you get to the beige
car, throw a smoke grenade into the open door at the south end of the garage.
Once it saturates, go to it and SATS-stand facing left. If the double doors are
closed, quickly run forward, open up one of them, and run back to the smoke.
Once it's clear initially, go into this room (it has another beige car in the
center of it). Make sure this room and all of its open-doored adjacent rooms
are clear.

Once they are, go back the way you came. Go into the first garage, and continue
back north. Throw a smoke grenade at the corner of the hallway that leads from
the bigger garage to the cafeteria. SATS-stand the hallway. Once it's clear,
move forward and take the first right, into the cafeteria. Go through the
cafeteria, turn left, and go into the tiny room that connects the cafeteria to
the locker room. Throw a smoke grenade into the far, large opening connecting
the locker room to the second storage room. Enter the locker room carefully,
because sometimes there's a tango waiting to pounce. Once you're in the locker
room, SATS-stand into the second storage room, using the smoke grenade you just
threw. Enter the storage room, crouch, and move to the west-most door. Wait for
Charlie in front of it, then call Bravo.

RED:
On Bravo, exit the room that you're in. Run full speed to the locker room; by
now Green has cleared out anyone in your way. Once you're in the locker room,
crouch down. Slowly walk to the eastern door of the storage room and wait for
Charlie.

Call Charlie once you're ready. Enter the adjacent maintenance room at a normal
speed. Stick to the left of the pillars and testing equipment. Turn left when
you reach the wall, but don't take more than a couple steps before holding for
Alpha.

GREEN:
On Charlie, enter the maintenance room with Red. Stick to the right of the
pillars and testing equipment, and exit out the doors that lead outside. (Be
careful when you open these doors, as there could be a tango waiting to jump
you.) You should be at the cab of a long semi-truck. Switch to a sniper in your
team who has a full six smoke grenades, if you haven't already. Move along the
semi-truck and when you're about half way along its trailer, throw FOUR smoke
grenades past the end of the trailer: two to the left and two to the right. By
the time you throw the fourth one, the first one should be fully saturated. Run
to the middle of your four smoke grenades and look left, into the room by which
Red is holding. There will be one (and only one) enemy in this room.

Once he's taken out, face back out into the parking lot. There will be a large
number of tangos out there, upwards of six to eight. You have to snipe these
guys quickly or you may have to throw another grenade. However, if you're quick
and accurate, you should be able to do this before you are revealed. Once
they're down, throw another smoke grenade at the corner of the semi-truck, and
step up into it. SATS-stand here and face right. There will be at least one
(probably two) tangos that you could not see from your previous spot. Once the
entire parking lot is clear, call Alpha.

(In my downloadable plan, Green has an Alpha here. Typically when I run this
mission, this part is so precise that I put the Alpha there simply to remind
myself to call it.)

Once you're done, go through the parking lot and open the door that leads back
into the building. As soon as you open the door, throw a smoke grenade inside
it. Once it saturates, turn right and open the double doors that lead to the
showroom. SATS-stand into the showroom, but don't actually go into the showroom
until Bravo.

RED:
On Alpha, go through the small room that had the sole tango in it and exit to
the outside. Crouch down and slowly walk through the parking lot, following
Green. Re-enter the building through the same door they do, but make sure the
smoke grenade is fully saturated first. Continue through the couple tiny
hallways and go to the room with the beige car that Green cleared fairly early
on. Go through this room and into the small hall that connects it to the
showroom. Set a breech on one of the double doors and wait for Bravo.

When you're ready, call Bravo and breech your door. Enter the showroom and bear
left. Clear both offices, but make sure you enter them both from the side
opposite the display cars. Once you're done, head up the stairs closest to you,
but do not enter the conference room.

GREEN:
On Bravo, go into the showroom. Throw a smoke grenade at your feet and snipe up
and left. Take out anyone you can on the walkway, but note that you will
probably not take out everyone who is up there. SATS as much as you can, and
then ascend the stairs closest to you (the opposite set of Red). Carefully go
upstairs because, as I said, there will probably be a few tangos up there that
you couldn't snipe. Clear the landing and throw a smoke grenade next to the
double doors leading into the conference room.

Open the door to the conference room and snipe into it. You will see one man in
there who does not have a weapon. Do NOT shoot him: that is Gutierrez. There
are, however, two armed enemies in that room. You can take out the first from
where you're standing, but to take out the second, you'll have to go into the
room and turn right quickly. If the smoke grenade can't cover you when you go
into the room, set the Vintorez on full-auto and just turn the corner with the
trigger pulled. Once both terrorists are down, go up and cuff Gutierrez.

It's almost impossible to miss any tangos following those steps.

||18. MISSION 15||
+--------------+
+----------------+

Operation: Steel Rose
February 4, 2007 @ 1800
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

+-----+
Story
+-----+

Gutierrez has sold out Gospic in order to get a little leniency on his
sentencing. Gutierrez provided the following information:

The float with the blistering agent has been located. It's at a side street,
getting ready to start the parade. Because Rainbow has already taken Gospic's
aerosol equipment, he's set up an alternate distribution method. He simply
attached a bomb to the middle of his float and will set it off when the float
is in the middle of the street. The worst case scenario is that this will
actually work, spreading the blistering agent over half the city. The best case
scenario is that is simply kills everyone in the middle of the street.
Obviously we don't want either one to happen. Gospic is here, too, but unlike
Gutierrez in the last mission, Gospic is fair game. When you see him, take him
out.

+----------------+
Situation Report
+----------------+

This area is composed of two buildings and a side street between them. The
parade float and bomb attached to it are in the middle of the street. Both
buildings have snipers who are overlooking the street. Gospic is located on the
rooftop of the second building, so he will probably be seen last. Resistance is
heavy, so you'll need to bring all your skills to the table.

The bomb must be activated manually, so a tango will actually have to get to
the street and press a button on it, killing himself in the process. The
enemies don't require much motivation to go after it. In fact, if any on the
street hear the rooftop snipers firing, that might be enough to send them
toward it and set it off.

+----------------+
Overall Strategy
+----------------+

Gold will take out all the snipers. When the street is safe, Red will
temporarily guard the bomb but will not disarm it. The street is too large for
them to try to disarm it prematurely. All three teams will eventually rush the
street together, securing the bomb and clearing the street at the same time.
Gold will make a pre-emptive strike on the second building, which will then be
hit by Red and Green. Gold will do nothing while Red and Green clear the second
building, floor by floor.

GREEN:
Start in the eastern insertion zone. Immediately throw a smoke grenade at the
end of the alley. Creep over to it, stand in the middle of it, and wait for
Alpha.

GOLD:
Start at the back of the western insertion zone. Throw a smoke grenade around
the corner, then crouch. Head forward and sidestep left until you are on the
left of the third pillar. Snipe there until Charlie.

RED:
Start at the front of the western insertion zone. Throw a smoke grenade to the
west. Between your smoke grenade and Gold's, the area should be extremely
obscured. Creep to the left and, when you reach your smoke grenade, throw
another one at the opening connecting the outdoor tables and chairs to the
marketplace. Continue north to the door past the tables and chairs. Enter this
room and ascend the stairs. Exit out the door at the top and turn left to go
into the first building. Turn left once you're through the door and turn right
immediately after to head down the spiral stairs. Hold for Alpha before you get
to the locked door.

GOLD:
THE INSTANT Red is ready for Alpha, call Charlie. Sprint to the door that Red
took past the tables and chairs. Climb the stairs but turn right where they
turned left. Hit R to tell your ally to stay where he is, and then climb the
ladder to the rooftop of the first building. Crouch as soon as you're up the
ladder. Throw a smoke grenade in the distance beside the antenna. Once it
saturates, run up to it and throw another smoke grenade between the antenna and
the wooden sign, then SATS-crouch across the street. Try to pick off as many
snipers as you can (there will usually be one to three). When you have, use the
second smoke grenade you threw as cover and run behind the wooden sign. When
you get to the end of it, toss a smoke grenade between the sign and the eastern
antenna. When it saturates, SATS-stand, facing toward the street again. By now
more snipers may be in view on the rooftop or you may see some in the third-
story windows. Take out as many as you can but try not to stay too long. Once
you think it's safe, call Alpha.

RED:
On Alpha, run to the locked door, pick the lock, and take no more than a few
steps outside. Wait for Bravo in a position where you can cover the bomb. This
way, if any tango attempts to go to it to set it off, Red can take them out.

GREEN:
On Alpha, go into the marketplace. Head forward to the black SUV. Wait beside
it for Bravo.

GOLD:
After you call Alpha, head back down to where your teammate is waiting for you.
Go into the first building the same way Red did, but turn right toward the
center of the building. Throw a smoke grenade into the corner of the hall and
SATS-stand around it. (On the Recruit difficulty setting, there's a sniper
across the street through the windows that you can pick off. However, I never
saw him appear on the Veteran difficulty. Still, you should be SATSing this
part just in case.) Go into the rooms in the building. You will have probably
only one tango still alive there. Take him out, then carefully open the door
into the hallway. There is a patrolling tango in the hallway, either just
outside the door or around the corner. Either way, take him out and descend the
stairs on the east side. When you get to the bottom of the stairs, you'll be by
a door which is very close to the black SUV that Green is waiting beside. Hold
for Bravo at the door and reload as necessary.

GREEN:
When all three teams are ready for it, call Bravo. Run out into the street and
run between the float with the bomb and the float on the opposite side of the
bomb. Once you pass between the floats, throw a smoke grenade to the left
between the bomb and the alley leading to the side of the second building.
Continue forward to the double doors and wait there for Charlie.

RED:
On Bravo, go west to the end of the street. Circle around the westernmost float
and go back to the bomb. By the time you get there, Green's smoke grenade
should be making you invisible to the alley. Disarm the bomb, then go toward
the double doors that Green is waiting at. Wait by the eastern float for
Charlie. (Don't wait for Charlie AT the doors; you need to be a fair distance
from them.)

GOLD:
On Bravo, go through the door and turn right. Pass the black SUV and turn
right. Loop west around the easternmost float. Walk on along the street between
the floats and the second building. Go to the alley; by the time you get there,
Green's smoke grenade should be fully saturated. Use it to SATS-stand into the
alley: there will be one tango at the end of the alley near the side door. Go
to the end of the alley, put a smoke grenade at the bottom of the side door,
and SATS-stand into the casino. When you stop hearing the smoke grenade hiss,
or you simply start to feel uncomfortable, feel free to throw another one.
(Because you're in light armor, you'll be down in a flash if you're spotted.)
Continue SATSing until Charlie.

Call Charlie when you've taken out everyone you can. Go into the casino and
head to the southeast door, the one that leads to the room behind the desk.
Once it's clear, exit the casino and go back up to the rooftop of the first
building. Snipe toward the rooftop of the second building for the rest of the
mission. (You probably won't be able to take anyone out like this, but it's
better safe than sorry.)

GREEN:
On Charlie, open the front door of the hotel/casino and bang the lobby. Enter
and clear it, then go left and hold for Alpha on the second landing in the
stair tower.

RED:
On Charlie, follow Green after their flashbang goes off. Go through the lobby
and go into the casino. Head to the northeast tower of stairs and, like Green,
hold for Alpha on the second landing.

RED & GREEN:
Call Alpha when both teams are ready. Have Red clear out the northern rooms of
the second floor while Green clears out the southern rooms at the same time.
When both teams are done, they should return to their respective stairs, go up
two landings, and wait for Bravo.

Call Bravo when both teams are ready for it. Again, Green takes care of the
southern rooms while Red takes care of the northern rooms. No matter how
tempted you may be, do NOT fire upward through the skylight. If you do, enemies
on the rooftop will start to come after you. Although Gold might be able to get
a couple, this really does just make things too complicated. The computer AI,
as far as I know, never fires up unless fired upon first, which almost never
happens. In any event, once that floor is clear, have both teams go to their
respective stairs and go all the way up. When they are by the doors, both teams
wait for Charlie.

When both teams are ready, call Charlie. Green will clear the south side of the
rooftop while Red clears the north side. Gospic is up here somewhere, but he's
no more special than an ordinary terrorist, so just take him down.

If any enemies were missed, they were probably somewhere in the hotel. They'll
probably come up after Red or Green, but Gold can go after them if they choose.

18a. The Ending
+---------------+

The game ends with John Clark interrogating Gutierrez with the Rainbow team
watching. Gutierrez spills the whole plan. Most of it Intel and Kevin Sweeny
have already figured out, but I'll recap it here, too.

Sicic and Gospic (under a different name) stole money during World War II. When
news broke that Sicic was caught and going to be deported, Gospic panicked,
thinking that his cover would be blown. When the initial terrorist strikes
happened and Sicic was not released, Gospic started putting the stolen money
toward reviving the Nazis on a global scale. He contacted Gutierrez to get
political protection in return for large amounts of money. Gospic got the
chemical weapons, planning to use them to kill a lot of people, especially in
the Venezuelan oil companies. This would drive down the economy, making those
oil companies very cheap to purchase. He could then send his own people to buy
them up and send the profits into the same revived Nazi fund.

As Gutierrez says, the plan doesn't matter now because Gospic is dead and
Gutierrez is on his way to getting a human booster shot by a guy named Molly
(thanks, Family Guy!).
