Remove Intro Videos/Movies:
---------------------------
Written by Symystery
In this guide I will show you how to disable the intro logos that
play when you open the game to make starting the game quicker.
* Paste the following into your file browsers top bar, it'll send you
right to the movies folder, unless you have manually changed it;
x:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Outlast Trials\OPP\
Content\Movies
* Rename (or delete) the following files.
I recommend adding .disabled at the end instead of bk2 so you remember
you disabled them if you want to re-enable later;
"TOT_ThirdParty.bk2"
"RedBarrelsLogo.bk2"
* Now you should be able to launch the game without the intro videos.
How to change the Field of View:
--------------------------------
Written by Mal0
A simple way to modify the game's Field of View inside the client config files.
-=Accessing the client config files=-
* To find the config files, first press your windows key + r.
* This will open the run menu.
* Enter in "%localappdata%" this will take you to your local appdata directory,
* Next, you're going to want to go to this directory from where you are
"AppData\Local\OPP\Saved\Config\WindowsClient"
* You are now inside the config files directory, the file you will be editing
is "Game.ini"
-=Editing the Config file=-
Now that you are inside game.ini, you need to enter in these lines.
[/script/opp.rbsettings_gameplay]
DefaultFOV=110.000000
AimingFOV=110.000000
The number value is your desired FOV, by default it is 90.0.
Once changed, save the file and load up the game, you will now see your new
field of view.
Useful Tips and Tricks:

A bunch of tips I gathered while playing the game.
* When in psychosis all Ex-Pops and the Prime Asset will ignore you, the only
threat is the Skinner Man himself. You can use this time to explore around
the map or even do an objective knowing that enemies will not attack.
* If you’re downed and the exit is open crawl to it, It will count as an escape
and you will revive yourself.
* You can destroy psychosis mines, electric traps, and duck bombs with bricks
and glass bottles (you can use bricks three times, bottles once).
* Enemies can not see you in the dark! (obviously) you can turn on the darkness
indicator in your settings to see if you’re hiding in the darkness or not.
* There is an enemy with night-vision goggles that can see you in the dark if
you’re in chase with him run to a bright place immediately and he will be
stunned for a moment, hes blind but can still hear in the light while hes
stunned run away and you’ll gain distance from him. the darkness indicator
also tells you if you’re in a bright place.
* Co-op doors can still be broken into if players are on opposite sides of
the door.
* Hitting sleeping enemies or the screamers with throw-able items will make
them run away.
* You can sprint while pushing objects, Adrenaline helps you move faster while
pushing said objects.
* Adrenaline helps you transport heavy items also!
* Stepping on glass shards will attract enemies, I’d recommend buying the
slippers amp as soon as you can to get rid of this.
* Activating noise traps like the hanging cans will hurt your score try to
avoid them as much as you can.
* You can sprint jump while exhausted, You can use this to dodge attacks.
* The more people lifting a rolling door the faster it is.
* The giant guy covered in metal is blind but can hear very well he is very
fast and it is hard to outrun him, be quiet around him you can tell how
much noise you’re making if you turn on the noise indicator in the settings.
You can also lure him away if you throw bricks and glass bottles.
* You can know an enemy can hear you if your noise indicator display is red.
* Doors that have a red light on them are trapped open them slowly by holding
the open door button and pressing forward, you can also disarm the trap and
get a free battery from it.
* Pay attention to your surroundings! You can look out for maps in Mother
Gooseberry’s trials to see where you’re at and you can follow the pipes
from the main room to figure out which one is real.
* The Pouncer will peek out before attacking, you can also spot her with the
X-Ray Rig and hear her voice when shes nearby.
* You can react to a container with a gas trap by looking at the sides, if
there is a device at the sides of then quickly jump away and wait for the
gas trap to activate.
* The Pusher (guy with gas mask) can spray multiple people if you’re near
the first person he grabs.
* Broken glass and noise traps usually have a vault-able obstacle right beside
them, use this to avoid making noise and save your score.
* If you’re downed try to crawl to a dark room so your teammates can revive
you safely.
Misc Tip’s:
-----------
Written by nugget biscuit
-=Tip 1=-
When your friend is being pounced on or being attacked or executed you could
throw a bottle.
Or a brick at the attacker to stop the attacker from doing anymore damage.
-=Tip 2=-
Never do solo. At least until you level up more.
-=Tip 3=-
Always talk to your teammates. Communication is key. Even if you don’t have
a mic you can still use the little voice line menu and ping system.
Beginners Tips:
---------------
I’d highly recommend playing solo before trying to play in a group. When I was
brand new I was placed in a group that was just running ahead of me doing all
the stuff while I was still just figuring out where I need to go and what to do,
and them doing that made things way harder to figure out. It was my biggest
mistake early on.
It wasn’t until I tried it solo after that I started getting a feel for objectives
and layouts.
Other smaller tips is if you need to get through a door with a trap quickly,
crouch to avoid the trap.
Enemies are really dumb in the dark. As long as you are crouching and not right
next to them they aren’t going to notice you so no need to be extra cautious.
While crouched doing little crouch hops lets you move quicker without alerting
enemies as easily. It’s a good way to not alert enemies as easily before the
point in the game you can get the noise reduction amp.
Avoid actually hiding in designated hiding spots. It’s nearly always a waste of
time and more likely to get caught by an enemy than just crouching in the middle
of a dark room, or just running and putting a lot of doors between you and the
enemy. Too many new players fall into the trap of camping inside a locker/trashcan/
under a desk or whatever. and it’s one of the easiest tells that someone is new to
the game since most people at higher levels don’t even touch hiding spots.
Don’t invest in the Xray rig. It’s the most useless rig in the game. Instead get
into the habit of pinging an enemy with your middle mouse button to get an idea
of their general area when out of your sightline. Blindness, healing and stun all
have better use. Get one of those. Blindness is especially useful in solo play so
I’d recommend getting that one first. Playing kill the snitch can be a bit painful
the first time trying it without one at the end. It’s a useful crutch though try
not to get overly reliant on it, as I’ve seen people who can’t seem to function
without it when playing modes that disable rigs.
Advice to Stay Together:
------------------------
* Listen for audio cues indicating you’re drifting from teammates. Weird whooshing
noises mean you’re getting too far. If you stray too much, your ESOPs will zap
you, and you can’t do objectives.
* Keep an eye on your team. Don’t rush ahead without checking if they’re with you.
If they’re going a different way, follow them to avoid damage.
* Equip top-tier rigs and amps. Bad gear hurts your team. Stun and Heal rigs are
great. Avoid X-ray. For amps, go for Noise Reduction, Strong Arm, or others
from the third category. Weekly rules might force specific loadouts.
* Use mics or pings. Communication is key. If you can’t talk, use pings. Even if
you speak different languages, pings help coordinate movements.
