Action RPG’s, like the little cousin
of full-blown Japanese RPG’s. We westerners have really taken hold
of this genre, which has seen incredible growth with recent titles
like Fable and Jade Empire. And now there’s a new player coming to
the homes of action RPG fans. Lighthouse Interactive will be
bringing AVENCAST: Rise of the Mage to the world this
October. Below we have the newly revealed box shot, so you’ll know what to look for whilst perusing the barren PC gaming aisle. Seriously, that aisle in the big box stores looks so sad and forlorn lately. All expansion packs for The Sims and a handful of other titles. In addition to pictures for learning what to look for at stores this October, we also have a fact sheet so you know what you’ll be playing. In AVENCAST you start off as a young adept in the world of Avencast. Using the classic trifecta of Action RPG combat, spell casting, long range weapons and melee combat, players take on the usual mix of fantasy inspired beasties and plot points. As monsters descend upon your world it is up to you to discover the origins of the creatures. Lighthouse Entertainment promises some sort of truth will be revealed that could shock and awe. Ever since KOTOR it seems that some sort of twist is mandatory for action RPG’s, and they’re really not. Hopefully this is more of a Six Sense twist than a The Village one. Read on below for the latest fact sheet on AVENCAST: Rise of the Mage:
