Laxius Power Part 1 Random Story
Walkthrough by Moxy

This document is a complete walkthrough with some appended lists and stats. The
prose is terse, so if you get lost then re-read the section. Backtrack to a
known location and try again. I haven't included any story descriptions so
spoilers are kept to a minimum.

I will list items that I have found, you may find more. I will not tell you
when to save, what to buy or sell. Nor what books to use on whom, nor what stat
boosters to use on whom. Undoubtedly you will find some mistakes, like
spelling, syntax, grammar, omission, and/or descriptive... too bad. There is a
bug that you must heed, save with more than one slot. Because very rarely an
overwriting save file will not save but erase instead. If you do this over your
only file then you will have to start over.

GAME INFO

Laxius Power Part 1 Random Story

Laxius Power I is a retro RPG using an old school 2D layout with sprites. This
game is an epic fantasy tale with mature themes. The battle system is turn
based where the player controls a maximum of four characters. You must decide
the actions of all four characters prior to their execution. The actions are
then slotted to the speed stat so strategy is important.

This walkthrough is written for the original game without add-ons. This game is
almost impossible to enjoy without maps. Maps can be found at the official
website and I urge you to use them. The most important hot-keys are the ESC,
SPACE BAR, F4, and the directional keys.

I Opening

II Rillia : Jewel of the South Western plains

Rillian Mountains

Enemies: Common Scorpion - Antidote - XP none - GP 1
         Hill Chicken    - none     - XP 1    - GP 4

Eventually you will end up in the Rillian Mountains and have control of the
story's hero, Random. There are no hidden items here. Exit south to the next
area. You will be prompted to choose a difficulty level. Normal is the original
design setting and the one that this walkthrough will follow.

I will refer to these areas as "main maps." This is the Rillian Plains main
map. You cannot explore very much yet so proceed north into your secret cave.

Secret Cave

"Talk" to Sarah by checking her. Checking is a gaming term which means to face
the object and to use the appropriate action key. You will be checking almost
everything in this game. Sarah and Luciana will automatically join your party.
Go to the rear of the cave and check the crates for 240 GP. Exit to the east.

*** Return here after reaching North Tangar Hills for a chest left by your
    secret admirer that will contain a Flash Rapier, Skull Staff, Galleon,
    Jungle Raider's Bow, and a Loukross Gauntlet.

Rillian Plains

Click through the cutscenes and arrive on the main map. Check the sign post.
I have tried to label the sections of this walkthrough according to locations
as dictated by these sign posts.

The first thing to do is to find Coryool. He is located in a tree (a hidden
area) in SE corner of the main map. After that go to your HQ which is a house
on the NW side of the main map, above the town. You will be introduced to your
pets, Guanidia and Herasia. They are playable characters. You will have the
Yveen's Pendants placed in your inventory, use it to change your party members.
Search your HQ to find a Map of the Western Deport, Dream Book, a book of game
stats, 270 GP, a book of game designer information, and later the Demons' Atlas
Book. Exit the HQ, use the Yveen's Pendants to make up your party. You can
always come back to your HQ for free healing.

Now we can explore Rillia Plains in earnest. NE of you HQ is Zobkr's Home,
which has nothing of interest. South to the town, Marlon's House & Warehouse
has an Iron Sword. In Pierrick's Home, talk to Pierrick for a Pine apple. I
recommend that you save all your stat boosters for later. At the end of the
game, return for another Pine apple. Talk to Jezzie in her home to start her
quest which you won't be able to finish until near the end of the game. In
Careyn's Home there is a Spider Horn. In Becker's Ceremony Room there are 75 GP
and 76 GP. Kevin the Explorer's Home has Bread x3. The General School of Rillia
can not now nor ever be entered. Bombas' Home has nothing of interest. Rillia's
Library is Luciana home and you can find a Shelby's Joy scroll in her room.
Gondurack's Finest Metal is the weapons shop and has an Ice Tea in the back
room. I don't recommend buying anything yet. Sandy's Home has 18 GP, 80 GP, and
a Coin. Elmo's supplies sells healing items but don't buy any. Yveen's
dedicated Church is where you save, do so. Buck's Inn for Everyone (like all
inns) is where you can rest to heal for a price. On the second floor is a man
who will, temporarily, sell you a scroll (4500 GP). Come back when you have the
money for a Magdalena's Empire scroll. You can change your menu window here.
Talk to Buck to hear the latest news. Now leave, you are done with the town of
Rillia.

*** Return to Jezzie's Home after getting the Fairy Salt to finish her quest
    and find a Yveen's Tear above her bed.

To the south of Rillia is a ruined temple, search the NE corner for an Apricot.
In the middle of Rillian Plains are two trees, search the northern one for a
Noble Eagle Feather. Walk east toward Rillia's port. In the Northern Dock you
can find an Oak Bow, Trout x2, and an Ice Tea. In the SW corner is a sailor who
will, later, take you to some secret islands. In Rillia's fishing port -
Counter there are Beer x2, a Trout, a Trout, a Sea Ring, 10 GP, and 17 GP. The
Southern Dock has a Red Bone, 43 GP, and 47 GP.

Proceed north and east to Chanterless Woods

III Chanterless : Village of the Woods

On the eastern side is a save point. It also has a battle stat book and a slot
machine. Saving your game costs money (2 GP) here.

I suggest that you got to the Post Office next and get some new items; Sylvian
Rapier, Mirmillic Robe, and a Sea Ring. Now go to the Dahlos de Loo secret area
which is a stump to the NW. Battle the Guardian of the Loo x3 for the Dahlos de
Loo. Now you are ready to take out the nest of Mosquito-Bee x10, which is a
bush above the save point. Find the Minotaurs' Hideout to the north and after
beating Big Cow x4, search for plot development and Beer x7.

Return to Chanterless Village. In the Dusty Boar there is 120 GP, I suggest
that you buy some Phoenix Feathers. The Chanterless' Weaponsmith has nothing
hidden. Next to the Post Office is the Dirty Old Man's House. If you keep
"talking" to him you will get a reward from The Goddess Yveen. Search the house
for an Antidote and a Kid of the Sun scroll. Proceed to the Chanterless' Town
Hall and talk to the mayor for your next quest and the Church's Key.

Chanterless Church

Enter the church. In the left hand room there is a chest with an Iron Sword. On
the right hand side check the skeleton and defeat it for the Antic sword.
Further north is a red chest with the code ("666") to open the gate. Back in
the entrance hallway, further north and left, is a crate with Iron Shield x2.
On the right side is a Jaws 'o Treasure masquerading as a treasure chest. Go
to the little box next to the gate and enter the code. Grab 230 GP in a crate
above the demonic star circle. Go left, wrap around and find 510 GP in the
crate. Go through the doorway to the next screen.

Walk up to the gargoyle statue and check it. Defeat the Gargoyle of the Dark
for Maxilasari's Key. To the right and north is an Aura Rod. This demon circle
is where you will access an optional boss later. Go back left then north. Check
the grave to find Rodirack's Tomb, you will come back here later when you get
the 13 Cinders quest. In the dirt area find 720 GP and a healing flower. Go
south and check the crates for 3 GP, a Trollish Gauntlet, and defeat Tricky
Spirit x2 for Miniletheas's Key. Return to the main gate and check it. Defeat
the Dark Order Priest. Go around to the back of the throne.

*** Come back to Rodirack's Tomb for 13 Cinder's quest.

*** Return to the demon circle and check the skull, which appears later, to be
    transported to a cellar. You can fight Dogura x10 for experience and check
    the ghost to defeat The Guardian of D. Souls for a Black Stone. I recommend
    to be around level 37.

River Cave

Enemies: Zombie       - Antidote - XP 12 - GP 40

Check the blue torch ahead for healing. To the left is a crate with 35 GP. Go
back to the torch and north, zig-zag left at the wooden statue and then south.
Check the crate for 67 GP. Go north and west and wrap around south to the chest
for a Purple Robe. Come back and traverse north to a crate containing a
Trollish Gauntlet. Above here is a Phoenix Feather in a crate. Now check the
bluish flame. Before going north backtrack to the east and north to enter
another cave, it is a dead end and has 97 GP in a barrel. You can't reach the
red chest, it a "teaser" and just one of many. Return to the save flame. Check
the nearby entrance to defeat the Werewolf. 

Underground Temple

Proceed west and down the vine, watch the cutscene. There is a Coin in a barrel
on the right, leave the screen and check the barrel again for as many as you
want. Check the barrel just left of the middle west of the carpeted area to
proceed. I suggest you return to the mayor to finish the Werewolf quest, rest,
save, pick up the Blue Pearl quest (talk to the man near the mayor), buy the
scroll from the man in Buck's Inn and then return here. OK.

Proceed west, go north into the doorway and defeat the ambush for 400 GP and an
Oak Staff. Continue into the northern area and search the rear crate for 1210
GP. Come back and go west and south. Defeat the ambush and check the crate to
the left for 1600 GP. Continue south and check the chests for a Wolf Helmet, an
MP Revival, and Phoenix Feather x2. Continue to the right and down and inspect
the doorway above the bed, defeat the ambush. Go SW, ignore the SE path, and
check the crate for an Ellipse Shield. Go north through the door and defeat the
ambush. Check the barrels for some food (Express Food x14, Sandwich x5, Bread
x36). Go south into the library, defeat the ambush, and search an eastern
bookshelf for a Lord of the Chasm book, return to the food barrels and go
north. There is a blue flame here. Through the door to the left is the stairs
down to the cellar, I suggest that you ignore this for now as you will access
this room later when you are at higher levels. Instead go north around the west
side of the pool and find a Dark Priest Rod, an Egress Certificate, and an
ambush which yields 1500 GP and a Black Order Ring. Now go north around the
east side of the pool and through the door for another ambush. Search the crate
for 542 GP and the bookshelf for a book of Phoenix 8 Tales. Go into the dark
doorway ONLY if you have gotten all the items. You must burn out the laboratory
eventually to progress the game, so I suggest that you do it now. Defeat the
ambush of Evil Sorcerer, Demoniac Dog x2. Explore, leave, Egress, rest, save.

Gentle reader, you should decide now whether you want to continue this game.
You have been exposed to a small dose of what is to come. Brutally copious
random encounters with large and confusing dungeon layouts. If you have any
doubt by now then I suggest you find another game more suited to your tastes.

Forest Maze

Before you go north out of Chanterless Woods into the Forest Maze you may buy
equipment to fill out your characters (I didn't). Regardless, you should buy
about Antidote x50. When you're ready, exit into the Forest Maze. To the left
you should see a chest, go there for a Lady's Bow. Now, go to the NW corner,
passing a dragon, to another chest with a Flare Hat. Egress. From the start go
toward the Lady's Bow chest, but instead of heading south, go east and north at
the sign to a chest with a Drunkard's Hat. Return to the sign and head east,
circle around to a chest with 1 GP, Egress. From the start, go east past the
fairy bridge, to a chest with a Fairy Lakes Tunic. Continue east then work your
way north to a chest with Fairy Sugar x3, Egress. From the start, return to the
chest that held the Fairy Lakes Tunic, go north, west, north, east, and north
along a row of tress to a chest with a Nenuphar Ring. Return south to the main
path and continue north then east (near a blue flame) and SE to a glade
surrounded by dead end bridges and a chest with a Dado Axe. Return to the main
path, a little bit south then west, north over a bridge and west to a chest
with the a-Maze-ing Rapier. Egress. Now you are going to defeat the optional
battles and then find the Blue Pearl. After that you will run straight to the
exit and never return to the Forest Maze.

From the start, go north, east, north, then east to a bush with three skeletons
around it. Defeat the nest of Giant Oak x4 for 8000 GP, Oak Bow, and a
Chantefleur Hat. Remember this area, to the north (just out of view) is a
Teleport Fairy. Egress, from the start work your way to the NW corner like
before except, when you see the dragon, wrap around and check him. After
defeating Torahl the Great Wyrm, go into his lair for 18000 GP, Gudar Sword,
Omanite Robe, and an Ajax Ring. Egress, return to the Teleport Fairy and get
teleported to a random location in the Forest Maze. Do this until you finally
wind up near the Blue Pearl. Get it, return to Chanterless and end the quest.
Come back to the entrance. Now, go north, east to the chest that held the
Fairy Lakes Tunic, north, west, and north to the main path. Continue north
until you get near the blue flame. Go to the right and north, wrapping around
west and south, west through an alley of trees. Continue NW through a tree
illusion and north to exit.

IV Fairy Town - Mizabrandeau

Enemies: Stagnation - none - XP 17 - GP none

Go around to the SW and open the chest for a Rune Sword. In the NE corner is
another chest which you cannot reach yet. As for the town itself, you can rest
and save, buy some things and play with the weather. Find Leanda and the fairy,
Meenoba, in the same room. Talk to them both to pick up two more quests. Defeat
the spider nest by the northern exit and then exit.

*** Return to Leanda when you find her Orb of Energy and she will join your
    party.

*** Return to Meenoba (the fairy in the same room as Leanda) when you find the
    Rose of Styx.

*** After the Evil Tower, talk to the teleport fairy at the Chanterless
    entrance to the Forest Maze. She will be sick and teleport you to the chest
    in the NE corner of Fairy Town. Open it for Krieger Horn, Milk of the
    Brave, Yveen's nectar, Talysma Roots, and Fairy Salt. Then go south off the
    screen to a hidden area with a chest containing the Box of Moanings.

*** Now with the Fairy Salt, go to Jezzie's Home and finish her quest.

V Upper West Plains

First, to the north is an inn and a save point, we will explore this small town
in more depth later. Keep going north, cross west over the bridge. After going
west until you find Patre Magnusson the Thaumaturgist, set up a Teleport
(10000 GP). Retrace your steps to the small town of Merthuns. This will be
your base of operations for exploring the Upper West Plains. Because the main
map is so large, I am going to divide it into four regions; north, south, east,
and west. The town is pretty much in the southern middle.

main map - south

Starting at the entrance from Fairy Town, go west and ignore Tamara the Witch,
then enter Golden Weapons & Armors for no hidden items. Backtracking east to a
house with nothing. Go NW to a bush with a nest of Lizardman x5. Keep going NW
over the bridge and N to the save point called The Path of Glory. Directly
north of the save point is a bush with a kid (Jock) hiding in it, remember this
for later. To the west is an amusing house. To the NE is Dan the Bread Cooker
where you can find a Bread x3. Return to the save point and cross the bridge.
The town of Merthuns has an inn above the sign post. Inside The Trout and the
Porcupine, talk to the old man about a secret cave near Merthuns. Next to the
inn is Geddy's Weapons, find a Chain Armor. If you check the counter, Geddy
will come out of the back room. He has a first time only inventory and a
regular inventory. To the north is a rock which is Merthuns Cave, we will come
back here first after we finish the main map. To the east is an old man and a
church, we will come here after Merthuns Cave. Further east and south is a bush
that is a nest of Monstrous Vine x1. East of here is The Landstalker's
Supplies. Going south is a house with a Tonic Tea. And lastly, east of here is
a rock which is a nest of waves of fish. This "fishing area" will regenerate.

*** Return to Tamara the Witch when you have Grokrl's Amulet and are around 
    level 27 and beat her. If you care about collecting all the Artifacts then
    choose the Tamara Ring as your reward.

main map - east

From the fishing area, walk north and east to a signpost, we will come back
here shortly. To the north is a golem guarding a cave, avoid this area. Balthus
Cave is the hardest dungeon in the game and you need to be around level 37.
Continue NE to a slime, talk to Charly to begin Wendala's quest. Keep going NE
to Josh's house to find 433 GP, and a Mithril. To beat Josh at arm wrestling,
Coryool needs to be at level 33. Go north to an oasis to find an Amethyst, Ice
Tea x3, 990 GP, Ice Tea x10, and you can watch Sarah swimming. To the west is
Barandos the Red, at around level 15 you can defeat him and his dog for
Leanda's Orb of Energy and the Barandos DaMuhl.

*** At around level 10, follow the bridges to an island and defeat the Noble
    Guardian of Twin Sisters Island for a Golden Wave Armor.

*** At around level 15, defeat Barandos the Red for Leanda's Orb of Energy and
    the Barandos DaMuhl.

*** When Coryool is at level 33, return to Josh's house and beat him at arm
    wrestling to get the Diamond Fists.

main map - north

This is the brownish area surrounding the Tangar Mountain entrance. From 
Barandos, go west to a nest of Jungle Crotale x6. West of that ambush is
another, Lizardman x5. South from here is a chest with a Magnus Fists. Go west
to Tangarian Counter and search for 551 GP and a Misty Chainmail. Check the
sign for a nest of waves of regular enemies. Directly north is a hidden nest of
waves of Harpies, come back when you're at level 18 or so. Left is a lion
standing by a skeleton, another nest, this time of lions. Lastly, south of the
lions den is Gudar's Manor which we will enter after Gudar's Church.

*** Return when at level 18 to finish the last nest in Upper West Plain,
    defeating the Harpies.

main map - west

Go to the western area where you set the Teleport. To the north is Yveen's
Shrine where you can save, among other things. NW is the desert and Pallalaa,
avoid this area for now. West is the Teleport house and south of that is a fish
shop, Delicious Meals from the Ocean. Further south are two houses and a cave
which is the town of Capul. One house has a Dwarven Mace and the other house
has 33 GP, 14 GP, 5 GP, and 7 GP. Ignore Capul for now. Go back to Merthuns.

Finish the optional battles and nests, if you need to level up then go through
Merthuns Cave and try again. This will be standard procedure when entering a
new main area. Wander the landscape picking up items and quests. Defeating
nests and optional bosses. Running dungeons from easiest to hardest. Returning
to previous areas to finish quests. Moving on to the next area.

Merthuns Cave

Enemies: Sanguine Bat    - none       - XP 21 - GP none
         Stalac' o Light - none       - XP 24 - GP none

         Adventurer      - Tonic Tea  - XP 30 - GP 355

Check the rock north of Merthuns and enter Merthuns Cave. Work your way north,
after the wooden fence, there is a path to the west which leads to Marthus'
Tomb, remember this for later. Keep going north, past a sign, until you can go
east down a path that leads to three chests, Chrome Sword, 250 GP, and Diamond
x2. Return to the main path. Continue north until you can go east again, past
the stairs to the north. Go over the wooden bridge eastward then south to Fairy
Sugar x3. Return across the bridge and go south to two chests containing a
Mithril and a Tonic Tea. Continue south and work your way to a switch
surrounded by skeletons. Defeat the Drake and then activate the switch. Return
to the main path and go up the stairs you passed before.

*** Return here for Marthus' Tomb for the 13 Cinders Quest

Go north to a barrel with a Diamond, backtrack a few steps, go west then north
to a chest with Shark x5. Go back to the barrel and proceed north to the NE
corner for a crate with a Trout. Exit out of these caves, back to main path.
Walk all the way west to the next screen.

Go west then north, up the stairs, and west to a chest for a Spell Devotion.
Return and go into the dark doorway left of these stairs. Proceed NE to a blue
flame and past that to a chest with a Palace Shield. Exit back out. Work your
way through the crystals (one in the middle can be walked under) to the gate in
the NW corner. Go through the gate and north into the next screen.

Go north and defeat the boss, a Red Orc. Open the chests for a Speed Ring, an
Antidote, Diamond Jewel, and a Percussion Ring. Exit south until you can
Egress.

Gudar's Old Silent Church

From Merthuns, go north to a house next to a old man who gives warnings. Enter
Gudar's Old Silent Church. At the entrance are three men, go north and take a
right near another man. When you reach a large room with a red carpet, go south
and down a small staircase. Immediately go south to a grave holding a Sacred
Staff. Run east along the southern path to a smaller store room which has an MP
Revival in a near barrel and 250 GP in a rear pot. Return to larger room and go
north into the little spiral for 133 GP in a pot. Return to the staircase and
go north, turn east, take the southern spiral for 73 GP in a pot then return, 
continue east then north to a barrel with a 200 GP. Go east through a little
store room to a pot with an MP Reserve. Keep going east to a small staircase
that goes up. To the SW there is a Tonic Tea in a pot between two beds. Work
your way west for a Black Stone in a pot. Return to the staircase, but make
sure to grab the Snow Robe in a barrel in a room with bookcases, go down. Work
your way back to the starting staircase, go north along the western side. At
a barrel with a 96 GP, go east and search a bucket in amongst some pots for a
Mithril. Egress.

From the start, go north until you reach three doorways. Along the eastern side
is a hidden path with a Talysma Roots. Now enter the left hand doorway. Go into
the northern room and find a Medicate in a far pot. Work you way to the large
room with the red rug and statue. Near the middle in a left hand room is a
barrel with another Medicate. Go across into the right hand room for a Tonic
Tea in a barrel. From the large room, go south into a large hallway. Work you
way south, collecting an Antidote and a Diamond along the way. In a store room
is 55 GP in a crate and a stairway that leads to an empty cellar. Egress.

From the start, go north and enter the middle of the three doorways. Continue
north to a room, then west and wrap around to find a pot with 11 GP and a
barrel with 760 GP. Come back and go into the NE room for 750 GP in a crate.
Now go down the SE path to a room with an Egress Certificate in a crate.
Egress.

From the start, go north into the right hand doorway. As soon as you enter,
look to the right and remember that skeleton. Now, work you way to the pot on
the other side of the wall from that skeleton for a Carillon Book. Go east to a
barrel with 167 GP. SW to a pot with a Diamond. East and south for a crate with
another Snow Robe. Work your way around to the south and down the staircase.
Then up the other stairs. Talk to the man for Gudar's Key. Remember Gudar's
Tomb for later. Return to the skeleton and check it. Defeat the Lord of the
Chasm for the Aygaryan Rapier. Egress

Gudar's Magnificent Manor

From Merthuns head north, past Gudar's Church, until you reach Gudar's Manor.
Use Gudar's Key and enter. Go north until you must go east or west. Go east
through a small room to a larger room, go to the NE corner for a chest with a
Diamond. Then south to a small room for a Milk of the Brave in a pot. Return
to the entrance hallway and go a little west and then north into a small room.
Search for a Larch Needle in a pot and a Golden Robe in a chest. Go back and
continue west then north, ignoring the SW paths. Keep going north by another
western path, but remember this one for later, and turn east to exit off this
screen.

Continue east past two southern paths and go south into the third. Follow this
path to a store room for a Chrome Sword in a jar and a Cryzalis in a crate. Go
back to the hallway and east then down the fourth southern path. Find 70 GP in
a bucket and four trapped chest with Carn 'o Carns. In the room at the end is a
barrel with Tonic Tea x13 and 1000 GP. Take the stairs down. Search the store
room for 451 GP in a pot, return to the hallway and go down the second southern
path.

Being careful of the lava, go south to a crate with a Beer. Go NW, then south
to a room with a staircase going down. Explore this lava throne room, in the NW
corner is a chest with Marco's Key. Exit, continue west along the lava hallway.
In the NW room is a Beer in a crate. In the southern area is another Beer in a
crate, go down the staircase. Search this cellar for 332 GP in a crate. Return
to the hallway with the four southern paths and exit west off this screen.

Go west then south then west then north to a room with a pot for a Tonic Tea.
Unlock the chest with Marco's Key and get the Orb of Energy. Return to the
hallway with four southern paths and go down the first path. Go down the
staircase.

Follow the path, picking up a Whale, and go up the staircase. Go north, over
the lava, then east, then north into the second room for a Brutal Axe. Exit and
continue east to a large room. Wrap around SW to find a Mithril in a pot. Go
SE down the path. Remember Horacio's Tomb for later, find a Percussion Ring in
a chest, go down the staircase at the end. Use the other staircase, again, and
again. In Gudar's Sacred Crypt is a blue flame. Defeat Gudar's Ghost who
dropped a Cyuper Shield. Collect 1000 GP, Gudar's Spear, Saphir x2, Emerald,
Mithril x3, Diamond x2, 2110 GP, Orb of Wisdom, The 4 Saviors, RuthGarden Key,
Dark Amulet, Cryzalis, and 12000 GP. Egress.

Capul - Minotaurs Southern Capital

In the western part of Upper West Plains is where you set the Teleport. South
from there is a cave which is actually Capul. Talk to the guards at the
entrance. Be wary of the purple water that will cause madness. From the
entrance go south, then all the way west to some pots for a Double Fur and 4
GP. Return to the entrance pathway and work your way to the far SW island and
check the crate for a Medicate. Now work your way to the SE corner, beating a
guard along the way. Go up the ladder, defeat the guard and find a Fladeon
Shield in a barrel. Leave the screen and check the barrel again for as many as
you want. Go north, there is a blue flame here. Go up the ladder and defeat
Dorado and Co. Search the area for Dwarven Gauntlet x37, Iron Shield x25,
Palace Shield x11, Cyuper Shield x7, and Golden Shield x3. Go down the ladder
and enter the building. Search for 1100 GP, and 1830 GP, then talk to the
Minotaur in the western area for 35000 GP, Diamond x4, and a Sky Diamond. In
the building to the south is a Beer. Return to the entrance of Capul and talk
to the guards to pick up Orfuls' quest.

First we will explore the outer mountains and then dive into the cave system.
From the start go right to a pot with Express Food x3. Go up the stairs and
check the pot for a fight with Trick Trolls, these trick pots regenerate. Go
west and down a vine for an Emerald Shield in a chest. Return to the trick pots
and go up the next stairs. Check the pot for an Extasia Hat. Go north up the
stairs next to a doorway. Check the pot for Lady Mariah Bracelet. Work you way
east over a bridge and then north to Azkard's Tomb, remember this for later. To
the SE is a red chest with an Emerald. Search the pots south for Krieger Scale
x3, Cryzalis, 12000 GP, and Red Parsley x2. South is a mound which is a nest of
waves of Jungle Crotale. Go west to a statue with a chest and a vine. The chest
has The Clouds' Ceremony and down the vine is Christopher's Trips and 1500 GP
in a chest. Return to the area above the first trick pots. Go north up the path
by the "Many Fallen rocks." sign and check the chest at the end for a Misty
Chainmail. Return to the sign and work your way west over the bridge and off
this screen.

*** Come back here for Lord Azkard's Tomb when you get the 13 Cinders quest.

Continue west then south down the stairs and find a Red Parsley in a pot. Go
south down a vine for Holidays at Sea. Return, work your way NW, behind a tree,
and up some skinny stairs and then down a vine to hop over to a chest with a
Huge Armor. Climb down the vine and hop off. Check the nearby barrel for a
Dandelion Bloom and a Solstice Acorn. Now climb the vines for a Mountaineer
Diploma in a chest. Go NW to a chest with July's Blood. Search inside the inn
for 230 GP and a Dwarven Gauntlet. Exit the inn and Egress.

Tangar Mountain Maze - cave system

From the start, go north up two sets of stairs and into the doorway to the
right. Work your way west and south (it is a long walk) past a fork until
you can enter north into a circular room with some green patches and a Red Bone
in a pot. Keep going SW and enter the doorway. Back outside, check the chests
for a Trout and Using Inner Energy. Return to the fork and go SE. Search the
pots forming a large triangle in a corner for a Raw Scaloide. Around the corner
to the NE is a Cyuper Shield in a chest. Keep going SE and enter the doorway.
Back outside, search the chest for a Platinum Sword. Climb down the center vine
and find a Tonic Stone in a chest. Egress, go into the same doorway as before.
Go south into a gray area. Continue SE and search a crate for a Dwarven
Gauntlet. Go west and north through a doorway. Back outside, check the chest
for a The Legend of Thalbu. Go through the other doorway. Work your way north
then east and south into a spiral for a Holy Pendant at the end. Return and
work your way west to a chest with a Golden Axe. Egress.

From the start, go NW through the first dark doorway. Work you way NW, up some
wide stairs and search the crates to the west for 1730 GP and 2855 GP. Return
back near the entrance to this cave and go east. Keep going east until you find
a red chest with another The Legend of Thalbu. Return west and north up some
wide stairs. Work your way north, east, then south into a lava room. Search the
pots for 740 GP and the crate in the middle for a Tonic Tea. Exit north through
the doorway. Back outside, work your way east and enter the other doorway. Go
SE then west then wrap around west and north to some crates. Search the middle
group for a Medicate. Return near the entrance of this cave and go north into
the path closest to the doorway.

See the store room to the right? Go there and search for Mithril, Emerald,
Diamond, Balance Shield, Dwarven Mace, Saphir, and an Egress Certificate. Work
your way NW, passing a lost man, and eventually coming to a pond. We will exit
north from here later. Now, work your way south, wrapping around. When you can
go west into a smaller area, do so, and search for Brutality in a chest. Go
east and check the crate for a Phoenix Feather. Work you way east, wrapping
around south for a red chest with 6000 GP. Come back and go north to find Almos
the Freeze Mage. Remember how to find him for later. Go west and search the
area across the stream for a Brutality and a Sphere. Return to the pond and
exit north.

*** Come back for the Freeze Mage after Luciana learns Giga Freeze to complete
    the Granit Tower.

Continue north and pick up the Ice Cave Sword from a red chest. Continue east
and search the northern pots for a Nature Diamond, search the southern pots for
a Yveen's Tear. Go east past the exit doorway, and wrap around NW to find a 405
GP in a crate. Return to the exit and go through the doorway.

Back outside, go NW and enter the doorway between the water falls. In a lava
corridor proceed north, under the partition, the east to a chest with a Brutal
Axe. Return west then to the NW corner to an object which you can't see for a
Diamond. Exit back outside and climb the vine north. Continue climbing north,
noting the blue flame SE of the man. At the top, go all the way east and down
the long vine.

Back inside the caves, work your (long!) way SW, checking a chest for a
Mithril, and enter the doorway at the end. Back outside, enter the other
doorway. Back inside, check the middle barrels for 210 GP and the southern
open chest for a Flash Ring. Continue west then south through stalagmites and
wrap around east and north up a vine. Check the chest for Lady Diane 1st Bow,
remember this area for later. Return through the stalagmites and go west then
north under a partition.

*** Come back here for Lady Diane's Tomb when you get the 13 Cinders quest.

When you can, go east until you find a red chest with a Milk of the Brave.
Return to the main path, go north until you can check a chest for a Fairy
Wings. Go east and check the pot for a Coin. Continue east then south, under a
partition, go to the SW corner for a Red Parsley in a barrel. Return to the
main path, go east. Search the northern pots for 420 GP. Go east to a locked
red chest - remember this chest. Work your way SE to a chest with Shark x2 and
more east to a crate with a Sankt Crown. South is a path we will go into after
going east to a hidden object with a Pine apple. Now, take the southern path.
Check a crate for 348 GP and continue to the end. Jump up to the vine and go
up. Back outside, go into the cave entrance, noting the blue flame here.

You will end up at a four corner intersection. Wrap around SE and north to the
red chest for an Orc Blood. Return to the intersection and work your way west
to a Frozen Key in a red chest. Keep west and search for a Noble Eagle Feather
on the other side of the waterfall. Return to the intersection and exit the way
that you entered. Work you way back to the locked red chest and unlock it with
the Frozen Key for an Arkus' Ring. Return to the intersection and go north to a
fork. Go east and work you way to the vine and exit outside to face Aethyne. Go
around her and enter the cave that is behind her. Open the chests for a
Mithril and a Georgi Ring. Return to the fork north of the intersection and go
west. Work you way around and go east, ignoring the northern doorway. Cross the
bridge and at the end search the store room for a Brutal Axe and Grokrl's
Amulet. Return to the northern doorway you ignored. Go through it and all the
way west, passing the FINAL exit to a chest with a Fur Coat.

Return to the last blue flame, go to Aethyne. Defeat her for an Azura. Go to
and through the final doorway to be outside at Tangar Mage.

Tangar Mage - the area just outside Tangar Mountain Maze, as listed
              (temporarily) in the Teleport menu. Another sign refers to this
              area as Mount Aryas.

Search the area for 562 GP in a barrel. Set the temporary Teleport. Pick up
Lise's Package quest by talking to her. Climb down the vines in the SE corner
to find the Rose of Styx. Exit north off this screen. Go west over a bridge and
up a ladder for a Golden Bandana. Return and go north. Check the bridge to
begin the Kevin quest.

Egress to Upper West and drop off the first package to Jock who is hiding in
a bush above the save point. Return to Fairy Town and give Meenoba the Rose of
Styx. She will give you a Fairy Herb as your reward. Teleport to Tangar Mage
and get Lise's second package. Go to Jock's hiding place and try to deliver the
package, do not open it. Return to Lise and you will get the Love's Amulet
among other things.

*** Return here after reaching North Tangar Hills and open the chest left by
    Lise for an Ocean Love and a Clash Cutlass.

Egress to Upper West and Teleport to Rillia. go through your Secret Cave, go
south and climb the rope to enter the Rillian Mountains proper.

Go north, next to the cave is a vine which leads to a blue flame. Around the
back of the cave is a crate with 25 GP. Proceed east across the bridge. This
area has the Sword of Scrolls in the middle of a lake, which you can't access
yet. Go NE up the stairs. Wrap all the way around, NE then SW, to the red chest
on your right for a Snow Storm Cape. Return to the lake.

*** Return here when you have completed the 10,000 battle quest and you have
    Wendala to get the Sword of Scrolls.

Go south down the stairs to a farm. Go south to a ladder that leads to a cave.
Search the cave for a Chrome Spear in a pot. Go down the stairs and search for
22 GP in a crate, 672 GP and a Mithril in a pot. Return to the farm. Search the
pots in the back for a Passionata. Go south down the stairs.

Keep going south down some more stairs. Talk to the girl in the boat. After you
have made it to the other side, check the nearby well. Check any of the many
bushes for a Rare Meruanda Branch. Go to the NW of the cave and climb the vine.
Go NE and work your way up all of the vines. Return to the beginning area with
the blue flame. Go to the NE corner and climb the vine.

Go up the stairs to the NE and work your way to the vine in the NE corner.
Climb up and go to the NW corner for a Shiny Page in a pot. Return to the
previous area and go south down the stairs and then down the vine in the SE
corner. Work your way south, east, and north. Climb the vine. Go around east
and climb the vine. Search the flowers for an Indigo Edlwss Petals. Continue
north and check Kevin. Egress. Teleport to Tangar Mage. Check the bridge and
return to finish the quest. Proceed north over the bridge.

*** Return to Rillia Mountains when you are around level 30 to defeat the
    Rillian Anacondas and explore the cave.

If you check the signs, you will read that you are in a non-descript area
between Tangar and Upper West, Tangar Hills. Go NW and cross the bridge west.

the east for a Krieger Scale, Pamela Peach, O Donnell Skull, and Red Parseley
x4. Go up the next flight of stairs and check the barrel for a Harpy Key. Open
the chest for a Talysma Root. Return to the main path and go east. Up the
stairs is a dwarf, defeat the mercenaries (Ryucan, Chief Ogbolumbd, and
Tyrtyra) who drop an Ogulmb Shield and The Interpretation. Go back to the main
path and exit north.

IX Tangar. Hill Village

Search the Tangarian Counter, which is a temporary building, for 7800 GP. To
the east is house with a save point. South of that is the inn, The Mountaineer,
search for 1550 GP on the second floor. Next to the save point is Tangarian
Items shop where you can't buy anything yet. South of that is Richard's Best
Armoury. To the NE is a house with a cow, search for Whale x2.

Go NE and enter Baretta's Artifacts. Buying items from Baretta is a quest. Buy
her first item, the Vaporeon Shield. Only enter this shop when prompted and
always buy her items.

Return to the town and go into Tangar's Town Hall, search for a book of
designer facts. Talk to the mayor and pick up the Granit Tower quest. 

Bad Cat House

South of the town hall is a house with a mini-quest. Put Herasia in your party.
Talk to the lady and go through the doorway. There is a blue flame here. The
"dungeon" is not large and the cat is hiding in the rear NW corner in a bush.
Along the way search for a Bread, Phoenix Feather, Dwarven Gauntlet, and an
Emerald. After capturing the cat, exit.

Granit Tower

eastern side of the main map is Maria's House which is empty of items. To the
NE is Randhal's General Store, buy at least one item. To the NE is another shop
in a cave, this time for your pets.

Before proceeding to the next area, do the following. Go to Baretta's Artifacts
and buy her second item, Evil Ring. Go to where Lise gave you her package. Open
the chest for an Ocean Love and a Clash Cutlass. Go to your Secret Cave and
open the chest for a Flash Rapier, Skull Staff, Galleon, Jungle Raider's Bow,
and a Loukross Gauntlet.

Return and go north to the next area.

First go north and bear east until you reach a ladder, climb it and open a
chest for a Ferratile Robe. Egress. Go north and bear west and open the chest

north to a jumping sack, jump. Proceed north and east to a pot with an
Antidote. You can enter the cave and talk to the lady but I found nothing worth
interest. See the ladder to the left? Climb it north to the next screen.

Go north and climb the ladder. Climb the ladder to the west. Go north and open
the chest for a Rainbow Diamond. Egress.

Go NW and up the ladder. Continue north and open the chest for Cockatrix
Feather x2. Climb the right hand ladder, checking the sign. Continue north
until you find a chest with a Royal Nem. Go west off this screen and open a
chest for a Savior Scarf, return. Climb the nearby ladder north off this
screen. 

Go north until you find a Brutal Axe in a chest. Continue north, and remember
this area for later. Keep going north and open a chest for Red Parsley. If you
go NW behind the tree, you can find an amusing lady.

Return to the chest that held the Royal Nem. Climb the ladder to the east. Wrap
around south to a chest with an Elfic Spear. To the west is magic stump, use
it to jump over. Remember the tomb to the south. Continue north and west off
this screen.

Keep following the path, shortly you will encounter a merchant. Talk to him for
a one time chance to buy his goods. Go east then north. Eventually you will
come to a larger area with two chests containing a Gold Bar (False) and a Metal
Scimitar. To the NW is a boss blocking you way. Defeat G-Hog x2 and Gorgona to
exit north.

Go north, past the Evil Tower, into the town of SankT Leona. Turn west, over
the bridge and north to the School of Transports. You will recognize it when
you see a shrine-like building. Enter and set up a Teleport. Review the other
options and do as you wish. Go into the doorway in the NW corner and search
the book case near the wizard for a Shiny Page. Go to Baretta's Artifacts for
her third items (Benederix and Bread), return.

We'll explore the houses in SankT Leona, pick up some quests and then explore
the surrounding countryside. The most SW house is Argolithian Fishes which has
nothing hidden. The next house to the north is the House of Alchimy and Rare
ingredients which has nothing hidden. Directly north is a house with 1238 GP in
a barrel. Across the bridge, on the northern side is a house with a Cockatrix
Feather in a pot and an impressive sword (remember for later). Next door to the
SE is the Guardians' Headquarters which you can't enter yet. The shrine to the
south is the SankT Leona Arena where you will enter you inscription but do not
do this yet, there is nothing hidden so DON'T ENTER. The house to the south has
nothing hidden. Over the bridge and north is The SankT Dragon which has nothing
hidden. Go south to the blue manor house and talk to Bruce and start the Rat
quest. Return north past the SankT Dragon and the blue manor house here is
Lirico's Manor, which you need to remember for the 13 Cinders quest. Continue
NW to Mateo's house which has a Forest Marguerites in a pot. To the west is
Mirlina's Bazar which has a Boabab Ring in a barrel.

*** Return to Lirico's Tomb when you get the 13 Cinders quest.

In the eastern half of the city, the first house on the bottom left is SankT
Leona Inn where you can rest and will become a place of interest later. Across
the street is a house with nothing hidden. Above that is The Knight's Gauntlet
which has nothing hidden. Across the street is The Knight's Essential Tools,
there is an Earth Trout in a pot near the blue flame. Also in the rear, is the
"pets' tournament," which we will enter and win later (along with some more
items in the back room by the blue flame). Above here is a house where you can
sell Cockatrix Feathers. Across the street is Isabella's Felicity where you can
eventually buy your Red Apricot Tree. The SankT Leona Castle will become a
major place of interest later, for now search the Garden for a Mayuca's Winter
and a Black Stone in a hidden chest.

Continue east to the next avenue. The most southern house has Marianne the Gem
Dealer who will join your party as an NPC at your HQ. Search her house for a
Diamond. Above is a blue manor house where Clara will give you a quest. Above
is SankT Leona's Hospital which you can't enter yet. Next door is the House of
Administration which has nothing important. The shrine-like building to the
north is the Sage's Tower which you can't enter yet. Next door is the SankT
Leona Royal Library which has nothing hidden. To the east is Yveen's Perpetual
Chapel where you can save among other things. Above the castle is a tree and to
the west is a bushy area, remember these for later.

To the north of SankT Leona is a bush that is a spider nest. South of SankT
Leona is the Evil Tower (the tower surrounded by a purple moat), in the NE
corner of the courtyard is an Octrium Hat in a chest. Continue west over the
bridge to Athors' Warehouse. Inside, search for 15000 GP in an open chest and
an Athors Co. Sword in a chest. Along the eastern mountains are some more nests
which you can't handle yet.

Clara's Father Quest

Go to the SE corner of SankT Leona main map and talk to Clara's father, but
first search the roof for a Fairy Pepper in crate. Return to Clara's house in
SankT Leona and talk to Clara. In the library, explore until you can leave. You
can find a book of battle stats and a person who gives you some item stats.
Back at Clara's house, talk to her for The Hand & the Crypt and a Black Stone
hidden in the back room.

Old Shrine of Vankov

Near the entrance to SankT Leona main map is the Old Shrine of Vankov. Inside,
explore and solve the puzzle to open a secret passage. There are two sets of
colored rocks and two sets of colored switches, you can reset by leaving and
re-entering. After you have pushed the rocks onto the correct switches (brown,
gray, gray, brown), go down into the crypt. Check the grave stone, explore and
leave. Defeat the boss, Aleksandr XII Vankov and Co., for a Vankov Sceptre.

Hyspanyel Town

From the GandJe Proud Teleport, go west to Hyspanyel Town. The first house
above the sign has nothing hidden. North of that is house where you pick up the
Dobuhl-Ag quest. West of the first house is a merchant's house where there is a
Sphere in a chest. North is a house with a brown ooze, remember this for later.
Work you way north and wrap around to the other houses. Along the way, search
the old man's house (north on the riverbank) for a Medicate in a barrel
upstairs. To the south is The Hyspanyel Shop. Below that is a house where you
should talk to a man about "a little path through the Mountains." Return to the
sign post to the east, go south and check the mountains for a path to the grave
that you can see. Enter the hidden area, the burial ground of Maczo and Wendala
Diroslav. In the rear, activate the switch which opens up the Granit Tower.

*** Return to the brown ooze house, after Sarah is kidnapped, for the Cell Pass
    which is hidden in the back room.

On the extreme west side of GandJe Proud (go north around Hyspanyel or through
the mountain paths) is a town on the coast, Minotaurs' Coast. First go south,
down the ladder for a Pentagonal Shield in a chest, return. Search the pots for
a Tonic Tea. Continue west and defeat Rock Arms and Co. to proceed. Go west
over the bridge. At the island, head west over another bridge. Search for a
Shark in a barrel. Return to the middle island and go south. Continue west and
defeat the ambush on the bridge, on this island search the NW barrel for 2700
GP. Go north over the bridge. Defeat Garuja and Co. to proceed north off this
screen. 

Go north and collect Shark x5, Trout x3, and Coral Flesh x2. Return and go east
then NE to a chest with Tequila Sunlight x6. Work your way east, check a pot
for a Tequila Sunlight, proceed east, hopping over a small strip of sand to a
Black Stone in the middle of this island. On the eastern side are Opium x8 and
Opium x3 in two chests. Go north over the ladder to the next island. Work your
way NW to climb a ladder to a deck. Climb up to the next deck and open the
chest for Korka Hammer x2. Check the sack to jump over to Orfuls' Boat.

Orfuls' Boat

On the main deck, climb the stairs and open the chest for a Royal Harpoon.
Return and go to the NW side of the boat and talk to Batabog. Now go down the
stairs near the front (south). Go north and down the stairs, search for a Tonic
Tea in a SE barrel. Go north along the corridor, checking Buster's room for a
Knight Shield, and down the stairs at the end. Go into the room to the west and
down the stairs. Search for 552 GP in a barrel (go through the left doorway
past the beds and look in the middle one of a group of three), return. Go south
along the corridor, staying along the west side and go down the stairs (instead
of going down now, you can go all the way south and through a small opening.
Search for a Phoenix Feather, and another Phoenix Feather in the NW rear corner
then return.) Work your way to the other side of the room and check the hole in
NE corner. Wrap around to the other end of this room and, when you can, defeat
Billock. Climb the sets of ladders, in this room is a yellow flame. Defeat
Orfuls and Co. for Orfuls' Fur Cape, Orfuls' Royal Key and a Treasure Key. Open
the chests for a Comrade Helmet and Royal Tequila x4.

Backtrack to the outside deck. Go to the top and down the stairs. Go all the
way down to the brig, finding a Royal Nem along the way, and rescue Lauralee.
Check the barrel here for 205 GP. Return and open the locked chest for Orfuls
Warlord Axe and 18500 GP. Climb the main mast and search for a Rusty Key,
Minotaur Antic Claws, Diamond x3, 50000 GP, and Tequila Sunlight x10. Egress.

XIV Upper West Plains - Pallalaa

Before entering Pallalaa, buy some good healing items (I suggest Whale). Set up
your party for physical attacks. Teleport to Upper West. Return to Capul and
tell the guards at the entrance the news of Orfuls' death. Go north and save at
the shrine near the entrance.

Ghost Town

Work your way north through the sunburn desert. Enter the Ghost Town. There is
a blue flame here. Go NW to a crate with 18 GP. Go to the SW corner for 245 GP
in a chest. Go north and east to a pot with a Phoenix Feather. Stay along the
western side and go north until you find a Mithril in a crate. Walk east and a
little south until you find an Antidote in a pot. Continue in the same
direction for an Iron Sword in a barrel. Go north until you find 45 GP in a
barrel. North of here is a trapped chest with Focus x3. Return south to the
barrel that held the Iron Sword and go east for a Saint Sword in a chest. Go
east for 29 GP in a pot. Go SE for a Main Gauche in a pot. Go to the NE corner
and find the entrance to the prison (a large crevice surrounded by a fence and
skeletons). Go inside.

Go north then east and find a Necrotear in a pot, return. Go north and then
east down a corridor of prison cells. Unlock the last northern cell. Talk to
Wendala. Exit to Upper West and rest at an inn to cure the Sun Burn status.
Find Charly and then return to have Wendala permanently join your party.

XV SankT Leona

SankT Leona - main map

Teleport to GandJe Proud and go to the SE side of SankT Leona main map, above
Clara father's house. Go into Wendala's house and open the chest for Rerurren's
Multi-Bow, Wendala's Lust-Cut @, and a Letter.

North Tangar Hills - Warehouse

Teleport to North Tangar Hills and enter the house to the east. Search for 175
GP in a barrel near the blue flame. Enter the NE side room. Search for a Tonic
Tea, another Tonic Tea, and 2030 GP. Search the holes around the room and clear
them of rats. When you think you have killed all the rats, exit the room and
the game will prompt you to the status of that room. Enter the SE room and
search for an Antidote, Tonic Tea, and a Sphere. Enter the western room and
search for a Sphere, Egress Certificate, Shark, Red Parsley, and an MP Revival.
To finish this room you must solve the rock puzzle (the key rock is the most
eastern, push it all the way north into the recess).  Push the rock near the
rat hole west to expose the hole and work the other rock around the barrels to
the switch in the NE corner. When all the rats are eliminated, leave the
warehouse and return to Bruce's house in SankT Leona to finish this quest.

SankT Leona - main map

Go to the eastern side of the main map next to the mountain range. Above the
Lone Order Temple (which has a Necrotear) is a thieves' nest hidden in a tree.
Defeat Cruch and Co. for Beer x5 and a Tonic Tea. To the north is a ghost
sprite, defeat Pelleas de Messali.

*** Return to the barrel shaped inn when you have the Red Apricot Tree and
    rest. This will increase your tree's vitality and fertility.

*** Return here after you get the 13 Cinders quest. While you are making your
    way to the tomb on the other side of the mountain range, defeat the nest of
    Millipuf and Co. hidden in a tree for an Azura. Continue to Emil Vastyska's
    Tomb.

To the west of SankT Leona and south of Hyspanyel Town is the Gargaryan Lands.
Enter by the sign post. Go SW toward the center, where is a house with Opium x3
and a Saphir in some barrels. Go west to the coast and a house with a CockatriX
Pendant in a crate. Go east, past a house, to another house where you can set
up a temporary Teleport. There is also a blue flame here. Go to the SW, into a
house with a Sorcerer Barrier (return here after The Beast is dead and get an
Athors Co. Sword in the back room). Now go all the north to Rolland's House and
talk to him. Prepare yourself by saving and loading up on Phoenix Feathers.
Wander around (snowy weather might help) until the Gargaryan Beast and Co. show
themselves and then defeat them.

Athors' Warehouse

Just outside of Gargaryan Lands, on the SE side is Athors' Warehouse. Go north,
up the stairs that were previously blocked to see a blue flame. In the far NE
corner is a pot with 10000 GP. In a chest, north of the blue flame, is 1200 GP.
On the west side is a Book of Flare in a chest. Go north, toward the middle,
and enter the hallway behind the candelabras. Continue north through the
hallway and open the door. Defeat the three waves of believers, then defeat
Lord Egemon and Co. Search the eastern side for a Tonic Stone in a chest. On
the western side are two chests for an Athors Co. Sword and 7800 GP. In the
storage area to the south is an Athors Co. Sword in a barrel (check the SW side
of the nearby 4x4 group).

Return to the blue flame and save. The next boss has a rare drop of the Dark
Rapier, you will probably never use the sword and it's neither an Artifact nor
a Relic. If you care then fight for it, resetting if you don't get it. Also,
when you do get it, go back and save again because the following boss is tough
enough to kill your party.

Return to the previous area and go behind the alter, on the right hand side is
a hidden passage. Go down the passage and defeat Emerald Dabradus and Co.
Continue northward, at the third intersection go east. At the end is a Tonic
Tea hidden among the barrels to the north, and a Tonic Tea among the barrels
in the SE corner. Return to the third intersection and go west and find another
Tonic Tea in these barrels. Go north into a secret room. Check the crystal to
the right and defeat Raynald Athors and Co., who drop a Golem Shield and an
Aurora Diamond. Exit to the main map.

Dobuhl-Ag quest

South of the southern exit of Gargaryan Lands is an elf named Dobuhl-Ag. Check
him and decide what to do. I chose to fight. Go back to the merchant who gave
you the quest (in Hyspanyel Town) and decide what to do. I chose to kill him.

*** Metrolian House - east of Dobuhl-Ag is a house where you can track your
    progress toward achieving 10,000 battles. Do not check when you get close
    to the goal, around 9500, because he will run away and you will not be able
    to finish the quest. However, if you remember, there are other places that
    track battle stats.

*** In the most SE point below Gargaryan Lands is a nest of Dawn Hunters.
    Defeat them when you are at level 42 or so for a Bromium.

XVII Inscription

SankT Leona Inn

In SankT Leona, go to the arena and register for the tournament. Afterwards, go
to the castle Guards' Area and try to give your report. Go to SankT Leona Inn
and choose to rest. Go talk to Sarah in her room. Return to your room and rest
in your bed. As Sarah, walk to the end of the hallway, check Random's door,
return to your room and check the wardrobe. Lose the battle.

Back as Random, check Guanidia and he will join your party. Check your
equipment. If you want, collect the MP Reserve x99 in your wardrobe. There is a
book here which acts as a save point. Go to Sarah's room and save her. On the
way to Coryool's room, check Leslie and he will temporarily join your party.
Go into Coryool's room and save him. Continue east to the end of the hallway
and climb the ladder to the roof.

Go NW to a chest with Omniastu Lacostia. Go SW to a ladder, at the base is a
chest with Tonic Tea x27. Climb the ladder and open the chest for a Sequoia
Bow. Climb the next ladder and walk east to an MP Revival in a bucket. Go SE to
find 500 GP in a dish. Return indoors.

Go down the stairs and enter the room to the east. Check the armor for an MP
Revival and MP Reserve x2. Return to the hallway and go west, enter the next
room. Grab the Isold Pendant then go to the NE and check the skeleton for Tonic
Tea x2. Go to the next western room and climb through the window.

Keep going directly north until you find Luciana and a little further on,
Herasia. Return indoors. Go east down the hallway and down the stairs, enter
the room to the east. Rescue Leanda and she will join your party. Go down the
stairs and rescue Buckley. Pick up Tonic Tea x2 in the middle of the floor.
Rescue the dog behind the reception desk. Exit the inn.

SankT Leona Hospital

Enemies: Demon Wolf - none - XP 84 - GP none

Walk around and search for and talk to all your party members that you can.
Register at the Hospital Registration Desk for extra activities. Register at
the desk next to this for the Hospital Card. Find the dining table with a plate
sitting near the edge of the table and a nearby dog. Feed the scraps to the
dog. Find the other dining room and eat dinner (I chose Potatoes and soda).
After exploring to your satisfaction return toward Sarah then exit.

In the next screen, Wendala will join your party. Check your equipment. Search
for MP Reserves x10 in a barrel. Enter the door next to the blue flame. Defeat
the waves of enemies. Run toward Sarah. When you enter to a new screen, talk to
the guard down the hallway and Duran will temporarily join your party.

SankT Leona

Back on the main map, go to Isabella's Felicity and buy 13 Forest Marguerites
and then go to the hospital and see Sarah. Keep talking to her until you have
given her the flowers. Go to Guardians' Headquarters and speak with the guards.
Go back to the hospital and speak to Sarah again. Afterwards, you'll find your
new sword, the Metallist, in the house NW of the Guardians' HQ. Now go to the
"quiet area" which is a tree north of SankT Leona castle.

can. Back on the main map, go to the hidden area that is the bushes west of the
"quiet area" and search for a Red Bone in a pot behind a house. You should give
some money to the poor girl around here. Find Ougurluk near the end and have a
little talk.

When back on main map got to Baretta's Artifacts and buy her fourth items
(Tyrine Shield and Tyrine Helmet), return. Go to the brown ooze house in
Hyspanyel Town and search the back room for a Cell Pass in a chest.

From SankT Leona, go SW to the Evil Tower. Go north through the courtyard and
up the stairs (there is a save point here) and enter the tower. Proceed north
and enter the right hand doorway following Herasia's lead. Keep going north to
a larger room. To the NE is a blue flame. From the blue flame, go west and open
the chests for a Pine apple and a Medicate. Further NW is a chest with another
Medicate. In a red chest further west is Bariilk's Talisman. And all the way
west is a chest with an Egress Certificate. Return to the blue flame, save.
Enter the path that is in the NE corner above the blue flame.

Work your way east along the hallway and search a crate for a Necroleech at the
end. This is Teszrandus' Lair and one of the two places that you can get a
Lycose Pearl which is a rare drop from the Queen Lycose. If you want some then
I suggest you get them before defeating Teszrandus. In the SE corner is a
chicken that you can rescue. Above that on the east wall is Teszrandus, defeat
her and her minions for Teszandrus' clutch, Old Gate's Key, Iron 2-side Key,
1700 GP, Rush Ring, and a Helmet of the Lycose. When you leave the lair,
Luciana will burn it out like she did at the Underground Temple.

Exit the Evil Tower. Go to Baretta's Artifacts and buy her fifth item, Lord
Benedict' Glass, and then return to the blue flame.

Go to the NW doorway and enter the Orc Dormitory. The room on the left, with
the demon circles, has an Orc Mace, an Orc Talisman, and a locked chest that we
will come back for. The room on the right has nothing. Go north, the room on
the right has an Orc Shield in a chest. Across the hallway, on the left, there
is a an empty room. Go north and then west for a room with The Goblin & The
Orc, and 260 GP. Go across the hallway to a room with another Orc Mace. Return
to the hallway and go north, picking up another Orc Mace in a chest. The next
two rooms are empty of items but the west room has a Drazkaerzazzkarius hiding
in a trapped chest. Continue north, the western room has an Orc Mace in a chest
and the eastern room is empty. To the north the hallway opens up into a large
room with Tequila Sunlight x2. Go north then west into a room with a Necrotear
in a chest. Go across the passage to the eastern room with an Orc Shield. At
the end, the western room has the Yam' Ghib Key in a letter while the eastern
room has an Orc who talks about an elven girl. Return to the first western room
and open the locked chest for the Battogg Assault Mace. Return to the blue
flame.

From the blue flame, go NW and enter the middle doorway, the Orc Tavern. Work
your way north, when you get to the large room, open the chest to the west for
312 GP. There is a doorway, near the middle of the Tavern, you can enter and
talk to the bartender about an elven girl, among other things. Continue to the
SE of the main room. There is a Tequila Sunlight in a chest to the north. Go
south for Tonic Tea x3 and a Light Tea in a chest. To the SW are some crates,
search for an Opium and a Medicate. Go east off this screen. There are four
southern passages, go down the third one and rescue the girl. Continue east and
south down the last passage for a Wail Pod in a chest at the end. Return to the
blue flame.

From the blue flame go south then east down a passage and off this screen. Go
east to a trapped chest. The next eastern chest has an Orb of Wisdom. Go north
to an intersection, the path to the right leads to nothing. The path to the
left has a Trout and a Fairy Wings. Return to the intersection and go north to
the next intersection. The western passage is where we will go to rescue Sarah.
Proceed north to another intersection. To the east search the crates for a Dom
Scroll. There is nothing to the west. Go north to another intersection. To the
east is a chest with an Ocean Love. To the west is a red chest with a
Pentagonal Shield and a Black Order Ring among the crates. Return to the
intersection and go north off this screen.

Search the middle dias for a Freeze Scroll. In the second most western room to
the north is a Necrotear in a chest. Go east into the next northern room, check
the blue phospho light and defeat the waves of Doom. Go east to the last
northern room and check the gargoyle statue. Defeat the Coleopto-Dragon.

Return to the three way intersection and go west then north. In the next room,
search the eastern side for Tonic Tea x6 and an O Donnell Skull. Search the
western side for 3754 GP. Go north through the gate.

In the next hall way, go east into a library. Search for a Rose Key, Flare
Scroll, Crujka Da Lethal, Dom Scroll, and an Omniastu Lacostia. Go back to the
hall and go NW into the lab. Read the books and destroy the vials. Go south and
search the crates for a Yveen's Nectar. Go down the staircase and search for an
MP Reserve in the bottom crates. Return to the hall. Check the Orc to the north
and defeat the Orc Lord x3. Enter the main lab. Defeat SankT Temple Priest x2
and Evil Sorcerer x2. Defeat Crantax and Co. for the Underground Key and a
Necroleech. Defeat Torturer for the Torture Sword. Explore the lab and free the
prisoner and Sarah. Exit the tower.

Go back to Baretta's Artifacts and buy her sixth items; Yveen's Tear x5,
Yveen's Nectar x5, and Yveen's Kiss x5. Return to SankT Leona to rest and save.

Saving the Guardians

Back in the Evil Tower, go north until you have three doorways to choose.
Before we used the right hand one to save Sarah, we don't need to go there
anymore. The middle one will take us to the main bosses, we will come here
later. The left hand doorway leads to (mainly) the switch room which is where
we need to go now.

So, go through the western door and go north to a chest with a Sky Diamond. Go
west then north through the doorway. Go north through a hallway. Then proceed
north through a long cave-like hallway, picking up two Krieger Scale along the
way. You will emerge into a huge empty room. The path to the switch room is in
the NW corner. In the switch room, work your way to a switch in the NW corner,
check it. Go south and search the crates for Sphere x3 and Medal x6. Go down
the ladder, find a Back Slash in a chest to the west and a Para Belt in a chest
to the east. Activate the left switch.

Return to the huge room and go east then north through the doorway. Search the
eastern side for Fairy Pepper x2, MP Reserve x5, MP Revival, Sorcerer Barrier,
MP Revival x4, Yveen's Nectar, and a Necrotear. Search the SW side for an
Elemental Staff, Savior Scarf x2, and MP Reserve x3.

Go north into the Necromancers' Room. Search for an Emerald, Shiny Page,
Diamond, Dom Scroll, Tonic Tea x3, MP Reserve x3, Elemental Staff, Black Stone,
and a 666 Scroll. In this room you should fight the Tantalus Wardom until you
get the Tantalus Krisser (I came back later and did this). Return to the
previous room and go east then north through the doorway.

*** Return to the Necromancers' Room and get the rare drop of the Tantalus
    Krisser from Tantalus Wardom.

In a red chest to the right is a Domination Whip. Go north into the next room
and search for 5820 GP at the end. Come back. Rescue the girl in chains. Search
the main area for Whale x9, Sandwich x16, Coral Flesh x3, and Shark x8. In the
storage area to the south, search for a Missionary Landcoat, Diamond x4, Elfic
Spear x2, Whales x7, Elstar Robe, Titan Armor, Power Guard, Knight Shield x2,
Shark x10, many jewels (Emerald x5, Saphir x3, and Amethyst x4), Orc Blood,
SankT Leona Saber x7, Black Order Ring x14, Wilderness Diadema x4, Plate Armor,
Yveen's Tear, Elemental Staff, Tonic Tea, Rainbow Diamond, and a Flower of
Aquapanga. Now work you way east into the next room and search for a Zenon
Claws and a Zenon Teeth.

Return to the switch room and activate the middle switch. Go back to the
entrance where the three doors are and enter the middle door with the gate,
using the Underground Key. Inside the main gate, search an eastern barrel for a
Sandwich and a Bread. Go north through the doorway, past the stairs leading
dowm, into a new screen.

This is the Lord's Hall. Go west into the first room and defeat Magnymion for a
Necroleech. On the eastern side is a room with a Sorcerer Mind Staff in a
chest. Return to the hallway and go north then west and defeat Feloneor and Co.
for the Feloneor Key. Open the chest to the south for 25000 GP, Necrotear x2,
and Queen Carola's Jewel. Go across the hall and enter the eastern room and
search for a Necrotear, Amethyst, Emerald, and a Diamond. Defeat Khransty and
Co. for an Elemental Staff. Search the bookcase for a Book of Incantations.

Back in the hallway, go north up the stairs. Proceed south, then west into the
SW room. Search for 26800 GP and an Ulga'Har 1st Lesson. Defeat Anti-Hor Tallur
and Co. for a Flower of Aquapanga. Go across the the hall and search for an
Emerald, defeat Rogguer and Co. for the Rogguer's Clock Key. In the SW corner
of the room is a cage with a dragon. Unlock the cell and check the dragon to
release Nash the dragon.

Return to the hall, walk south and up the stairs. Search the west room for a
Saphir. In the eastern room is a Thalist Ring in a chest. Go north into the
warehouse and search the eastern room for Krieger x7 hidden in the southern
wall. Climb the ladder at the northern end and search for a Diamond, Gold Bar
(False), Medicate, and a Brosaline's Petals at the top.

Return to the Lord's Hall and go down the nearby staircase into a cellar and
search for 2050 GP in a chest, Necrotear in a crate, MP Revival and Paralysis
Scroll in a chest, Red Bone hidden in a wall by two crates, Cockatrix Feather
x6 in a chest, Bromium in a barrel, and The Zekaf'l Rahomion in a red chest.
Defeat Nomagumm and Co. for a Sorcerer Mind Staff. Continue searching for the
Jewel of the Ices in a red chest, Using Inner Energy in a red chest, Royal
Tequila x4 in a chest, Elemental Staff in a chest, Bread in a chest, Tonic Tea
in a barrel, Medicate in a chest, Bread in a crate, Tonic Tea in a barrel, Milk
of the Brave in a chest, Medal in a chest, and 810 GP in a barrel. Return to
the Lord's Hall and go all the way south, near the hall entrance, and go down
the previously ignored staircase.

There is a blue flame west of the stairs. Keep going west then north into a
large room with dark symbols and search a barrel in the NW corner for an Aurora
Diamond. Return and continue west into a room that has cages of monsters.
Search for a Cockatrix Feather and a Mithril, then go south to another room.
Search for an Azura and then activate the switch. This area has the enemy,
Queen Lycose, who drops the rare Lycose Pearl if you missed them before. Now go
ALL the way back to the main switch room and activate the right switch, and
then return to the latest blue flame.

From the blue flame, go toward the stairs and then north. Speak to the girl
prisoners and rescue them. Activate the switch to the NW. Go north into the
next cell and find a Gargaryan Rapier in a chest. Activate the switch. Return
to the blue flame. Go east, past the stairs and into the Mines.

Walk east then north, pushing the rock aside, east then south. Defeat Bastarg
for a Torture Whip. To the east there is a Domination Whip in the empty chest.
Work you way east, releasing the Guardian x5 in chains. At the end, activate
the switch. Find a Cockatrix Feather in a chest. Return to the prison cell and
rescue the Guardians. Defeat Eternal Warrior and Co.

SankT Leona - after saving the Guardians

You will need to work your way through cutscenes and plot development.
Eventually, you end up walking down a hallway, looking for Sarah. Beside Sarah,
you will find a save point in her room. In a room further east, search for
17050 GP, Sky Diamond, and a Royal Nem. Proceed to the party. You can talk to
your party members and other guests for some humorous comments. Talk to the
band director to progress the story.

When you end up on the main map, go to Baretta's Artifacts and buy her last
items, Empyrion and a CockatriX Pendant. Re-enter the shop and talk to her
again to finish this "quest." Finish Jezzie's quest. North of SankT Leona on
the NW corner is a bush near the river, check it for a nest of swamp creatures.
Defeat Vermin x5 and Pond Thing x2. Go to Isabella's Felicity and buy the Red
Apricot Tree, go rest at the barrel shaped inn, and finally go to your HQ to
water and prune it. Remember to take care of your tree every once in a while,
if it dies you cannot get another. To collect the fruit, access the tree
through the inventory menu. A new house will pop up near the Evil Tower, the
Leonian Counter, search it for a Knight Helmet.

Go to The Adventurers' Counter and talk to Carin again (she's standing at the
downstairs bar on the left side). After you get the map, go to the main map, go
east to a cave entrance. Push the rocks around and observe the pit. There are
three ways to jump into it, middle, top, and bottom (move rock).

Jump using the middle first. Search for a Saphir, 1150 GP, Flare Scroll,
Emerald, and 630 GP. Egress.

Jump using the top. In the chest is a Flare Scroll. Egress.

Push the rock into the pit and jump after it. Enter the northern doorway and
search for a Flare Scroll, Flare Scroll, and a Diamond. Return to the arena and
go east then north, noting the trap doors to the south. In the northern half of
the arena, enter the western doorway. Follow the path north and east to the
end. At the end, walk onto the plank in the NE side, face east and jump. You
should fall into a caged area. Check the chest for a Sky Diamond, activate the
switch. Activate the newly exposed switch. Go back into the cage and check the
gem on the table. Defeat Malushi and Co. Egress

Go back to Carin and claim your reward. At the end of the game, come back and
talk to her again for a more substantial reward. Return to the cave and work
your way to the trap doors that we ignored previously.

Lazandra Library map, 666 Scroll, Royal Crown, 18000 GP, Elder Scroll, Gem
Ring, and Mind BioS (jaws). Egress.

Work your way inward, past the previously closed gate, and check the grave to
open the next gate. If you haven't already, use the Crujka Da Lethal spell book
on Lucianda to learn Giga Freeze. When you get to the maze of graves, work your
way north, following a circuitous route on the eastern side. The maze isn't
terribly hard. Remember Alphonsus' Tomb for later. When you get to the northern
passage, defeat Crisis to advance. Check the flame.

*** Return here for Alphonsus' Tomb when you get the 13 Cinders quest.

Now, return to Almon the Freeze Mage in Tangar Mountain Maze and speak with
him. Return to the flame blocking the pathway in the Granit Tower. Luciana
should learn Ark Freeze. Check the stalagmyte to proceed.

Go north into a large room, there is a blue flame to the north. In the NW
corner is a switch, activate it. Go through the doorway in the middle of the
northern wall. In the next room, there is a Songs of Faith & Will in a chest to
the east. In the NW corner is the Ghost Key hidden as a wall switch. Defeat
Titanix and Co. for the Titanix. Defeat Demon Randhaart and Co. Egress, return
to the mayor to finish this quest.

*** In the NE corner is a marshy area. When you are at about level 34, wander
    around until the boss Carix Xarisman appears. Defeat for a Xarisman Tusk.

*** Return when you want to level up and use the Ghost Key on the last door.

First defeat the Balthus Golem for a Raw Scaloide and to enter the cave. There
is a blue flame to the north. Work you way north, checking the switch along the
way. In the middle of the next cave are a Fury Mask, Firebreath Fists, and a
Yveen's Kiss. Go to the NW side and enter the next cave.

Immediately go to the SE corner and work your way to the chest for Red Parsley
x3. Return and go north up the middle path. To the west, check the crates for
172 GP, Bromium and a chest with 3200 GP. Return and go up the middle path. To
the NW is a crate with a Tonic Tea. Go up the stairs and check the area for
3500 GP, Tonic Stone, and a Cockatrix Feather. Go up the last flight of stairs
and activate the switch. Return to the main hall.

Go to the NE side and enter the cave. Proceed NW and check the barrel, among
some mushrooms, for a Bromium. Keep going north then easterly for a Self-Will
Belt in a barrel and Krieger Scale x5 in a chest. Return and continue north
past some rocks, go NE for a Medal in a chest. Work you way north to the switch
and activate it. Return to the main hall.

Enter the middle cave. Defeat the Fire Orb for a Flare Scroll. There is a blue
flame here. Go NW, up the western staircase, for 5000 GP in a chest. Go south,
staying on western side, and check the crates for a Bromium. Go back down the
stairs and up the wide stairs to the east, go north (staying west) and open the
chest for a Medicate. Return down the stairs and go up the eastern stairs. Head
south and check the crates for a Red Parsley. Go north and check the pots for a
Mayuca's Winter. Go all the way north and check the chest for a Shaking the
Ground. Return to the blue flame.

Go north up the wide staircase and north up the easterly path. Check the chest
for a Tonic Tea. After the path widens, stay north, we will return to the west
later. Check the barrel for a Foxglove Bulb, Idinera Conker, Spider Horn and an
O Donnell Skull. To the east are some barrels, one near the middle has a Sky
Diamond. Go all the way north and search the bookcase for a Shiny Page. Check
the chests for Medal x2 and a Medal. Check the torch for a healing. Return
south and when you come to a wooden bridge, go west over it and check the
barrel for an Apricot. Come back over the bridge, continue south then west.
Check the barrels for an MP Revival.

Go SW and defeat Xerberus. Climb the long staircase and open the chest for a
Self-Will Belt. Climb to the top and decide to fight Kirai or not (I chose to
fight for a Necroleech). Rescue the nearby girl, Lisa. Go back up the ladder
and west behind the waterfall.

Enter the laboratory noticing the blue flame to the north. Pick up the Celest
Cursed Ring on the mat. South from the mat is a blue chest, open it for a
Using Inner Energy, Necrotears x3, Dom Scroll, 666 Scroll, Flare Scroll, and a
Critical Behavior. Activate the two switches in the NW corner, and check the
windows to release the prisoners. Check the chest to defeat the Blackhole Worm.

Exit (Egress) and Lisa will join your party at the HQ as an NPC. In the NE part
of the main map, talk to the people of the Oasis for a small reward.

Go to the Northern Dock in eastern Rillia Plains. After you enter the docks,
work your way to the SW corner and talk to the boy standing by a small boat.
For a price, he will transport you to The Lone Sisters Islands.

From the beach go south through the opening. On the next screen, go SW to the
next screen. You can "catch" the fish for various healing items. Keep going
west, onto the boardwalk and to the next screen. Enter the inn and search for a
Royal Tequila, Tonic Stone, and a blue flame. Behind the inn, hidden by a large
tree is 150000 GP. The barrel to the east holds a Red Bone. Go north then east
to the next screen.

Go north and search the barrel for a Chrome Sword. Go north off this screen.
About midway across the sea you will be able to go east to an small island.
Search the NE side for a small sea creature, check it for an Azura. Return and
continue north onto the boardwalk. On the next screen, search behind the tree
west of the cave entrance for the Glass Rod of Aron. You can keep checking the
cave to fight Zapoo x8 (or so) for Zapoo Diamonds. To the east is a chest with
a Pirate's Tequila and Royal Tequila x10.

Return to SankT Leona and go to the Castle.

Guards Area

Search all areas for a Beer, Golden Helmet, and a Pine apple. Remember the
battle areas for later; Karlon, Eva, and Crusher.

Throne Room

Check the east side of the castle and choose the Throne Room. Go north until
you enter a store room on the west side of the hallway. Check all the objects
to find an Admira Crown, 5050 GP, and a Krieger Horn. Exit, go across the hall
and search for a Beer. Continue north up the hallway and go down the staircase
to the east. Check the old man down here to pick up the 13 Cinders quest. Exit
to the main hall and go north, check the rock that exposes a staircase down.

Flowers Collars Quest

Go down the stairs to the moat area. This is the "Flowers Collar" quest, which
is consists of you searching the moat area until you find the Flowers Collar
and then finding the fairy who wants it. After you deliver the item, the fairy
will grant one party member the spell Ocean's Wrath. Along the way check for
the items; Wail Pod, Mayuca's Winter, Sandwich x20, Phoenix Feather, and a
Glass of Nectar.

13 Cinders Quest

Return to all the areas previously noted and deliver the Cinders to the tombs.
After delivering twelve of the Cinders return to the old man for the last and
your reward.
