How to Play Every Character
---------------------------- Written by Cthor155 -=The Pawn=- * Aim for the head at all times * Against strong pieces run to your side of the bookshelf and try to take the high ground * If low on hp run & block until reaching cover/full hp * Keep decoys up at all times You can out-damage the queen if you hit all headshots -=The Knight=- * Aim for the head * Dash to the bookshelf to try and gain the high ground * Dashing toward the enemy can deal damage and one-shot decoys * If up close spam left click Hitting a headshot and then using the seeking arrow will make a one-shot combo. -=The Bishop=- * Use bombs to launch yourself into the air and fly around * Try and be as close as you can to the enemy * Use bombs to launch enemies off the high ground * Use wings to blind Rook helping prevent headshots If you can master flying you will never need to touch the ground, use your bombs and be a bomber plane. -=The Rook=- * Aim for the head * Try and get on top of the bookshelf/Chandelier/window * Use walls when low/to peek around help prevent headshots * ADS as much as possible Feeling confident grapple to the ground and get close to the enemy no scope headshots work wonders. -=The Queen=- * Aim for the head * Use the flying ability to blind the Rook helping prevent headshots * Use E to provide cover for yourself * Throwing your piece can deal a TON of damage Her damage isn’t affected by her range being close to or far from the enemy doesn’t matter. -=The King=- * Use block against Rook/Knight * Use slam and pull to bring yourself as close as you can to enemy * Avoid open space and use cover * Use the beam to damage enemies from far away Jump out the window and go on top of the map wait for slam recharge and surprise you enemy by jumping behind them.↑ Top

-------------- Written by random1213 A usually disposed of attack in normal chess is actually insane in this game. -=The Strat (for Non-Chess Players)=- Move your king’s pawn any amount of squares forward. Next turn, move your queen all the way across the newly opened diagonal. As long as they don’t move the pawn in front of their knight so as to block your queen, take the pawn that’s in front of the bishop next to the queen. Their king can no longer escape a battle with your queen. You should be able to win this fight. -=The Strat (for Chess Players)=- * e4, Qh4, Qxf2, Qxe1↑ Top

To do so simply navigate to your config file, which should be found in this folder: * C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\FPSChess\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor And look for a file called GameUserSettings.ini ,open it with the editor of your choice eg. Notepad. (right click -> open with -> notepad) Adjust the settings in the ScalabilityGroups to your likening, for example this is what I’m using to run this game at a stable 60fps on SteamDeck: [ScalabilityGroups] sg.ResolutionQuality=49.859200 sg.ViewDistanceQuality=1 sg.AntiAliasingQuality=0 sg.ShadowQuality=0 sg.PostProcessQuality=0 sg.TextureQuality=1 sg.EffectsQuality=1 sg.FoliageQuality=1 sg.ShadingQuality=0 (default Value for everything but the Resolution Quality is 3) Then save the file and restart your game.↑ Top

------------------ Written by TrusTinsanity Here is every single piece ranked from worst to best. -=12 – Pawn=- Pawn sucks. You can win some games with pawn, of course, but you either need to be a gaming god or really lucky. -=11 – Bishop=- It’s like shiny bishop but bad! The only way to do good damage is to get nice and close. Use the bomb to launch yourself upwards and then glide right into your enemies! -=10 – Shiny Knight=- Shiny knight really isn’t THAT bad, but I just don’t think it’s that good. Spam the ‘E’ ability and hope you kill someone. Use the shift ability to launch yourself upwards. -=9 – Knight=- The knight is quite decent. The ‘E’ ability aimbots now, instead of the arrow spam that the shiny knight has. -=8 – Shiny Pawn=- The throw knife ability is only good if you have amazing aim. Anyways, just spam decoys until you can get nice up close and personal to deal lots of damage. -=7 Shiny King=- The shield BARELY works, many projectiles hit through it. Shiny queen can, so using shield is pointless. Also, you can shoot golden swords without the shield. Other than that, it’s decent and good at what it does. -=6 Shiny Rook=- From here, all the pieces are OP. The cannon 2-shots and also blocks the entire screen if you’re lucky. You could also fortnite. -=5 – Shiny Queen=- Rush the bookshelf and whip your enemies from afar. -=4 – Rook=- Headshots one shot, no matter where you are. This piece is super dangerous because you can just kill anyone at any time. You could win EVERY match, regardless of what your opponent does. Grapple sucks tho. -=3 – Shiny Bishop=- I was playing with Shiny Bishop, when I found out that if you aim at the ground while gliding, you get launched ALL the way up to the ceiling. If you do this at an angle you can fly across the room. Me and my friends call this the TNT jump. -=2 – Queen=- Just spam bullets until your opponent dies it’s not that deep. Make sure not to hit your head on the ceiling while flying, you could get stuck. -=1 – King=- King is underrated. You can win basically every match. Just use ‘E’ to attract people towards you by just being an absolute sigma male. If they somehow escape use the other ability to teleport onto them. Attract them even more if they escape. After that you just win.↑ Top
