INTRODUCTION............................................................[CELS]
================================
A friend of mine trolled me by buying this game for me, so I counter trolled
by going absolutely ham on it and writing this guide.The guide itself still
needs a little more information, but there is a horrible lack of information
on this game online, so I wanted to get it up quickly.I'll update it as I
get the relevant information.
================================
THE FARM................................................................[APLJ]
================================
-----Basic Info-----
Here you see the overview of all of your buildings. You can upgrade them
from here in exchange for cash.You can also find pickups here.All you
need to do is click on them...
-----Info Board-----
This gives you a list of all your ponies. It tells you their level,
current amount of training, amount of time until they become available,
if they qualifyfor breeding, and tells weather or not they are sick.
It's really only useful if you keep several ponies around at one time
and can't keep track of them.
-----Clovers-----
-Increases your horse's performance in the next race (used automatically)
-appears sometimes (i think when the ground is not covered in snow) and
when you don't already have one
-----Rainbows-----
-Gives 100 Gold
-Appears every time the weather indicator (top right of the screen)
shows a rainbow as the current weather (the leftmost one of the three)
-It may be a problem in the game itself, or just my copy, but i've never
actually seen this, just clicking in random locations for me got the reward.
================================
THE STABLE AND WELL....................................................[RRTY]
================================
-----Basic Info-----
This is where you can restore a horse's condition and spirit (Condition
refills automatically, Spirit requires brushing or feeding to refill)
You can also buy new items and horses, as well as breed them.
-----Upgrading-----
Upgrading the Stable will allow you to buy new, more effective items for
the ponies (more on them in a moment) FULLY UPGRADING THE STABLE
ALLOWS YOU TO BUY LEVEL 2 HORSES!THIS CAN SAVE AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF
TIME! Upgrading the well simply allows you to have more ponies at once.
-----Breeding-----
Once you have 2 fully trained ponies (see corral for training) whose
condition and spirit are full or nearly full, and you have an open room
in the stable, you can breed them.Two level one ponies breed a level 2.
Two level two's breed a level 3 and so on. But each pony can only breed
once. So to breed a levelfive pony, you'll need to raise a totalof 31
of them minus however many level 2's you bought since fully upgrading
the stable. Any two ponies can breed, even when their names imply that
they are the same gender.
-thanks to Steam user Grumblecakes for gender information.
-----The Store-----
Clicking on the store awning lets you buy items for your current pony, or
in an empty stable, allows you to buy a new pony. WARNING: ANY ITEMS YOU
BUY FOR YOUR PONY WILL DISSAPEAR WHEN YOU SELL SED HORSE!
-Stat-Based Items-
The Lamp, bucket, food and water dishes all effect the stats of your
pony. All of the starting equipment gives zero stats by default, but
I only reccommend buying these forponies that you plan on having
compete in races. Higher leves typically increase stats more, but
pay attention to the items before you can buy because the most
expensive itemisn't always the best one. I also don't reccommend
buying anything until your pony is fully trained. Doing so can make
it difficult to tell if you've finished training
-Condition/Spirit-Based Items-
The three brushes do not offer stats, but using them on your pony can
restore their condition and Spirit. Higher levels typically restore
faster, but have no other benefits.If you are the patient type, or
have other things to do while the ponies are resting, I suggest not
wasting the money. But be warned, when windoed, the game pauses if
it is notthe active window on your computer.
--Foals--
You can buy level 1 baby ponies for 300 gold each, and later, level 2's
for 1,000 gold. They of course, require an empty room in the stable. The
Description on the buy menuis a clue as to what the pony will grow
up to be.
-Unicorn: The grace and beauty of this horse is one of a kind.
-Pegasus: The Ancestors of this Colt were unique racehorses.
-Fire Steed: This colts ancestors were fearless and wild by nature.
-Ice Steed: Mountain People Bred this kind of muscular horse.
-Demon Steed: People of forgotten civilizations passed on the secrets
of breeding this type of horse.
================================
THE CORRAL.........................................................[RDSH]
================================
-----Basic Info-----
Here is where the training happens. It is reccommended to fully
train your pony before doing missions and racing at the gate.
-----Improving Stats-----
Strength......Sledge Pulling, Obstacle
Speed.........Dressage, Forest
Stamina.......Sledge pulling, Forest
Dexterity.....Forest
Reflex........Dressage, Obstacle
Intelligence cannot be improved here.
-----Upgrading-----
Upgrading the corral gives higher level ponies access to more
difficult courses based on their level vs the corral's level.
This speeds up the training process ridiculously,but may not
actually be nessecary to fully train ponies at higher levels
than the corral (needs confirming)
================================
THE GATE...........................................................[TWIL]
================================
-----Basic Info-----
Take your ponies here to compete in races, do missions, or be sold.
WARNING: WHEN YOU ARE AT THE LAST RACE OR MISSION IN THE SET, DO NOT
TRAIN ANOTHER PONY UNTIL THE ORIGINAL COMES BACK FROM THE ACTIVITY!
DOING SO CAN NEGATE THE CASH REWARD FOR COMPLETING THE SERIES!
-----Upgrading-----
you'll need to upgrade the gate for each level of pony you achieve
in order to access that level of missions and races. Anypony can do
any mission that is equal to or belowtheir level, but may only complete
in races equal to their own level (assuming the gate level allows it).
-----Missions-----
Send your ponies out to help the good people of the world. This earns
you some cash, and can get your materials to make horseshoes and potions.
But be warned, being out in the rain or snow is likely to cause sickness
(see "barn" for more info) Higher level missions take longer, so be sure
to check the weather guide and allow plenty of time to finish. The first
time you complete each set of missions, you are rewarded with a cash
bonus and a steam achievement (for those of you on steam of course)
WARNING: YOU DO NOT NEED TO SELL YOUR PONY TO COMPLETE A MISSION SET!
Each mission gets a checkmark when complete, so it's easy to keep track
of what you've done. But they can be repeated for extra money and
ingredients.
The following chart lists the cash reward for performing missions. Keep
in mind that the diseases you can get from missions will cost more to cure
that what you earn,so be careful!
lv1......30
lv2......70
lv3......200
lv4......500
lv5......1,200
-----Advanced Mission Strategy-----
Not only do higher level missions take longer and make your ponies more
vulnerable to illness, but the ilnesses themselves become much more
expensive to cure. Despite this, apony can still perform missions while
sick.(as cruel as you are for making them do so) So you can make a
pony sick with a level one disease, and then send them out on advanced
missions regardless of the weather. When you're done with however many
missions you would like to do, just head to the barn and cure the
disease for only 50 gold!
-Thanks to Kwizoid on the steam forums for this strategy!
-----Alternative Mission Strategy-----
Of course, you can always just save before sending a pony out, and load
it if they get sick. This doesn't work well though if you send out
several at a time.
-----Racing-----
Send your ponies out to race for top place! Unlike the missions, you
don't have to worry about weather for this one. But it's still wise
to make sure your pony is fully trained before competing. If you're
having trouble, buy stat items from the stable, make hoseshoes at the
blacksmith, and/or pick up a clover at the farm. Also unlike the
missions, there is no visual indicator of which races your pony has
aced, unless you go all the way back to the stable. So keep track of
which cups you've won. If one pony wins all five trophies in their
skill level, you get a nice cash bonus (and asteam achievement) Anypony
who hasn't already won all the trophies can do so to earn another top
place bonus, which can be an excellent source of money if you need it.
-----Selling Your Pony-----
Sadly, there is frankly not enough room at your ranch to keep all of
your ponies, no matter how attached you are to them. Once a pony
mates, it is essentially useless, unless you want it to continue
racing or doing missions for cash and ingredients.
-----The Magic Crystals------
Once your Gate is level 6, a special mission may show up at the end
of the mission list. These work the same way as normal missions, but
you can actually get the magic crystals by doing them. As of now, I
speculate that you need 5 level 5 ponies of unique breeds in order
to collect them all. But so far, I only have one, and I don't know
what (if anything) it's good for. So i'll update this section once
I have more information.
==================================
THE BARN..............................................................[ZECR]
==================================
-----Basic Info-----
Take your pony here to cure them of illness or brew some potions to help
in its next race.
-----Upgrading-----
Upgrading the barn lets you diagnose and cure more advanced diseases,
as well as buy new potion recipies. If you play your cards right, you
should never need to upgrade this.
-----Illness-----
Your ponies will inevitably get sick sooner or later from going out
on missions, even if you're careful. You need a barn level equal to,
or greater than that of the mission on which your pony got sick.The
following is the cost of curing diseases from a given level...
Lv1.......50
Lv2.......200
Lv3.......500
Lv4.......1,000
Lv5.......2,000
As you can see, it's nothing to sneeze at. Follow the Advanced or
Alternate Mission Strategy section to prevent disease.
-----About Potions-----
Potions work the same way as the stat based items in the stable. But
instead of buying the potion itself, you buy the recipe, and use that
to make as many as you like. The problem is that they aren't permanent.
In fact they only last for one race or mission. For this reason, they're
pretty useless unless you are really having trouble getting past a
certain event. However, this is the only method I have found of
improving a pony's intelligence.
Making potions can be a real pain, because even if you do really well
in the minigame, it still isn't garunteed to work. For that reason,
always make a save file before mixing one so you don't lose your
ingredients.
-----Potion Stats-----
The best overall potion is on page 26, but if you're looking for
different combinations, have a look around.

The Blacksmith......................................................[BGMC]
===================================
-----Basic Info-----
Make horshoes here to improve the stats of your pony. It essentially
works the same way as buying stat items in the shop. Horseshoe craft is
virtually identical to potioncraft except that horseshoes are permanent.
-----Upgrading-----
Upgrading allows you to buy more recipies for better horseshoes.
-----Horseshoe Stats-----
The following lists the stats of each recipie of horseshoe. This way
you don't waste tons of money buying trash recipies. Note that
there are no horseshoes that increase intelligence.
