-=How to Win in Balatro?=
We’ll show you how to cheat to make your first win feel obtainable while still 
being fun. Cheating at poker is a class act. But maybe you’re not classy; maybe 
you’re a smooth brain like me and couldn’t win a run after several hours. Either 
way, I got just the guide for you.

This cheat isn’t going to guarantee you a win, but it will grant you a boat load 
of money. This sudden influx of cash opens up opportunities for you to try out 
different synergies and strategies without the fear of choking on ante 8 a dozen 
times or wasting money on a card that doesn’t work the way you thought it would. 
Once you win a run, I recommend taking off the training wheels and play the game 
normally. After I won using this cheat, I won the next two normal runs.

But enough about that. Together, you and I are going to join the middle class 
the only way we can: by cheating at cards.

-=How to Aquire Currency By Cheating=-
So there’s two ways to go about this:

* You can download and replace the balatro .exe with my modded one
* You can edit the .exe yourself

I can understand why you don’t want to run an .exe from a guy with an anime 
avatar on Steam. So I’ll teach you how to edit it yourself.

First make sure you have something like 7-zip or winrar installed (I’ll be using 
7-zip). Then, in your Steam Library, find Balatro and right click on it -> 
Manage -> Browse local files.

* Right click > 7-zip > Open archive
(If you’re on windows 11 then Right click > show more options > 7-zip > Open archive)

* You should now be looking at all the files in the .exe in 7-zip.

* Go ahead and open "game.lua" in notepad. 
* Search for a section called “–backs” and then look for the b_yellow entry.

* This line here determines what benefits the yellow deck gives you. As you can see, 
  this yellow deck will be giving you an extra 10 dollars. 

* Let’s change that. Adjust it from
  {dollars = 10}
  to
  {dollars = 999}

* Now go ahead and save and open the game. The yellow deck should now start you 
  off with over $1000.

“Wait hold on. I opened it up and the yellow deck still is only giving me an additional 
10 dollars. What gives?”

If that’s the case, then you probably didn’t actually save your changes to the "game.lua"
file. Make sure you saved. To double check all you have to do is reopen the file and see 
if your changes are there. If you’re still having issues, drag that game.lua file to your
desktop, make the changes to the yellow deck, and then drag game.lua back into the 7-zip 
window to overwrite it.

Welcome to the middle class! Start cheating and experimenting your way to victory!

What now?
Start a new run with the yellow deck and buy anything you want. Experiment, reroll, etc. 
The game should be easier, but still fun.

Once you finally beat ante 8, I recommend taking off the training wheels and setting 
everything back to normal. To do this, just uninstall and reinstall the game. 
Or go re-edit the .exe if you’re a lunatic.



How to Win:
-----------
Here’s your tip: Flushes are strong early, go for those to get the ball rolling.

Pairs are strong late game, build your joker composition to work with pairs. The only 
hands that pair jokers don’t work with are high card, straights and flushes – every 
other hand type gets buffed by jokers that give bonuses to pairs.

Focus on getting Jokers with that RED X1.5 multiplier. That’s when the points really 
roll in.

One fun strategy is to use the Vagabond Joker to be poor, and use the Tarot cards to buff 
your deck (to encourage Flush plays, for example).

So try to get in the first ante a joker that can carry you for some time (like the ice 
cream, pop corn etc.) to help build some economy. Get the playing cards and tarot boosters. 
Don’t trust too much planets boosters. Don’t rely only on the jokers.



How to Win with Green Stake:
----------------------------
Keep resetting runs until the reward for the first blind skip is either a free shop, foil / 
holographic / uncommon / rare joker, (Poly is interesting too but expensive) or a free mega 
tarot pack – check the contents and if you don’t get a decent joker out of it just restart. 
Skip the second blind too if there’s good incentive, for example if the first two tags are 
free shop + poly joker.

Your overall goal is pair or high card synergy, flushes are massively overrated and 
inconsistent for what you need. From the first shop or two you want jokers that give bonuses 
and ideally scale well with minimal effort and nothing more specific than a pair needed. 
Fibonachi, odd todd, even steven, square joker, ripped joker, any card that pays out on 
pairs, the joker that creates 2 common jokers per round, even gros micheal and stuff where 
it hardly matters what you play and you get a decent bonus.

Once you have ideally two of those in the first two antes start looking to improve your 
jokers over time. Your goal by the end is:

* One to two jokers that improve your chip count – even if it’s just through one being a foil.
* One to two jokers that improve your base mult – even if it’s just through one being a holo.
* Two to three jokers that improve your times mult – even if it’s just through some being poly.

That’s it. If you get that combo of jokers then all you’ll really need to do every hand is 
play a pair or a high card, and it’s that sort of flexibility you need to win. Feel free to 
check out booster packs for planets boosting pairs or high card, tarots for money or making 
your deck more consistent etc, or playing card packs ideally looking for cards with any two 
out of the three of an enhancement, edition and seal.



How to Increase Your Money by Editing Save Files:

This guide shows you how to change the amount of money by editing and successfully saving 
the file.I played Balatro for at leat 9 hours without winning once! So I was searching for
trainers or guides and fount one. But the guides forgot to tell you one little thing, which
I’m gonna tell you now.

-=Open with 7zip=-
1. Go to the installation folder of Balatro –> Steam7steamapps/common
2. Open "Balatro.exe" with 7zip –> right click –> 7zip –> open
3. Double click on "game.lua" and choose the windows editor to open it (choose open it once)
4. Press CTRL+F to search for "backs" and press enter
5. There you find the yellow deck and this highlighted line
6. Edit the Dollars. 
   Standard amount is "10" - Put 999 instead of 10 in this line.
7. Then save the file in another folder in Windows! 
   On your Desktop or Documents folder where you can find it.
8. Close the Editor.
9. Your 7zip archive is open and now copy your edited file in this 7zip by drag and drop.
10.You have now two "game.lua" files there. 
   Your edited with the ending "game.lua.txt" and the original one.
11.Delete the original one
10.Edit your "game.lua.txt" by pressing F2 and delete ".txt"
11.Now close the 7zip and start the game - your edited amount of money when playing the 
   yellow deck will be there

You can also edit the other decks by doing the same and adding the line {dollars=999} on 
the other decks.
