Tips to Use Traps:
------------------
You should be able to catch prey often with 100% trapping. It is possible
that you’re doing something that is interfering with the trapping.

-=Here are a few tips that might be of help to you=-
* Use long lasting bait, like seeds or salted fish. If bait expires before
the trap triggers, the trapping timer will reset and you will catch nothing.
* Do not change bait from a trap, that will reset the timer.
* Do not use small game traps (deadfall, snare) in monitor lizard territory,
as they will eat your prey reducing your chances of catching anything.

Limited Resources:
------------------
Written by Emaster

Contains a list of every limited resource in the island.

-=Non Renewable=-
All the items bellow are limited and there is no way to obtain them again
if they are destroyed, used or lost.

-=Unique Blueprints=-
Weston: If Macaque stole Weston, it can be recovered from their den.
Well

-=Starting cards=-
Almost all the cards characters starts from perks are limited.
This includes any Glasses cards. There is no way to craft or get more of those.
The exception to this are the starting clothes from the hunter.

-=Shipwreck=-
* The shipwreck contains: 6 pieces of scrap metal, 4 ropes, 1 jerrycan and
  1 plastic sheet.
* The scrap metal, jerrycan and plastic are finite.

-=Foragables=-
* 1 Plastic Bottle in the Rocks Area
* 1 Piece of Copper Ore in the Eastern Highland
* 1 Piece of Copper Ore in the Volcano

-=Unique Area Cards=-
* 1 Skeleton Card on the Highland Hole
* 7 Copper Vein, found in a few caverns.

-=Notes=-
* Copper: Even if the 2 pieces of copper are found and the veins were mined, they
can be obtained breaking geodes, so they are “infinite”

* Scrap Metal: Only available in the shipwreck and from some certain perks.

-=Renewable=-
These resources bellow have do limit, but the player actions, or lack of actions,
can make their number go up.

-=Animals=-
The island has a hidden counter of population for animals. The more creatures of
the same time the survivor hunts, it will become harder and harder to find a
another and to the point the creature may get exterminated.

Note that exterminated an animal on the island takes some serious dedication, so
is not something to be worried about until a large amount of traps or the survivor
was actively hunting.

Reproduction: All the animal numbers go up naturally as they slowly reproduce. The
large quantity of the animal in the island, the faster they reproduce. Large animals
like boars and lizards take above 10 days to reproduce.

Predator effect: The population numbers will change over time depending on much of
a certain animal is being hunted. For example, killing many partridges will have an
impact on Lizard Population.

Fish: Fish are infinite.

Bees: having a swarming skep back to normal will raise bees population.

Crabs, conches, urchins and prawns: Can be temporarily driven extinct but new
individuals will start to appear again after a while.

Partridges: Releasing them raises the island population. So having a male and a
female in an enclosure can help you recover their numbers.

Goats: Releasing them raises the island population. So having a male and a female
in an enclosure can help you recover their numbers.

-=All Edible Plants/Trees=-
Each zone has a hidden number of population of plants. Some are shared between a
few areas.

If the survivor finds many plants and harvest them, it will become harder and
harder to get another, until the point the plant is no longer present in the area.

Always leave 1 plant in a zone if possible, until you know you have more of the
same plant in another part of the island to be planted later.

-=Trees=-
Large trees, Small Trees and Small Palms are infinite, BUT only 1 maximum per area.
If the survivors cuts one of them, a new one will appear after exploring a few times.
Coconut Palms: These are finite AND only 1 maximum per area (With coconuts). If the
survivor gets the coconuts and explores the area, eventually a new palm will be
found until their population is 0. Their number is quite generous and they should
not be exterminated that easily. In case the survivor is chopping those, keep a few
coconut (with the husk) to plant later.

Useful Tips and Tricks:
-----------------------
* If you drill into a coconut for the water, and then leave it to rot, it’ll stay
as a “Rotten Coconut” permanently. While it stinks, it’s an entirely stable method
of keeping rotten remains on hand for the things that benefit from it, like traps
and some farm plots. Cracking a rotten coconut for the 2 shells and 2 rotten
remains is a free action, too.

* While shrimp are so small they’re basically never worth cooking and eating, they’re
as good for making bird feed as rice is. Any time you need to feed your birds, spend
some time at the Rocks or the Bird Rock scouring the tide pools.

Note: Prawns take 0 time to eat and provide 7 satiation so they are pretty nice as
a light snack. You can also easily get bugs from a dry puddle or wetland caves to make
bird feed.

* Bugs are very reliable as bait for deadfall/snare.
* You can drag an axe on a forested area like the jungle to gather wood & sticks.
* Also, shovel on places like grassland for dirt.
* You can store clay jars containing liquids in the kiln, no monkeys.
* When it comes to entertainment, each zone’s sea is its own experience. If you’re
really bored, wander along the coast, swimming in each zone. If you do that and
build a sandcastle on the beach at one end and the desolate beach at the other,
you’ll pretty much max out entertainment and get a lot of swimming practice.
It’ll burn a lot of daylight though.

Tips to Hydration:
------------------
Coconuts are fine to drink but you will need to eat charcoal to reduce diarhea, it
is possible to be a net positive this way.

Also make sure to stay nice and chill, water will leave your body really fast if you
are overheating.

On a regular run there is a guarantied rain on start of second day, having some
coconuts halves ready to collect the rain water will give you couple of days of
stress free exploration.
After that the rains are random but they are pretty common in my experience.

You already learned that mangroves are a dangerous area. Yes the goal is to go towards
the wetlands and get access to clay to build water storage things. it is not the only
way but it is an easier way.

There is also a regenerating suply of water inside the dark cave. it is not much but
it will keep you alive in a pinch.

if you are still struggling with hydration the different starts are there for a reason,
to learn the game while under less strees so you can then play the game normaly after
you know some tips and tricks.
There are 2 options here:

* If you want a different starts and variety there exists a farmer character which
starts with a reservoir built. There are also some other characters but hydration
wise they are proobably harder. Farmer does have its own challenges though.

* If you want the vanilla beach start but with a boost check out some of the perks,
especially the survival trunk 5000 or something like that, it will get you started
with lots of extra items which you can relly on while you are trying to figure
  things out.

Tips to Survive as a Tourist:
-----------------------------
Pin bug bites and keep an eye on it while exploring, go inside the plane if it gets
too high, if it gets to around 20-25% you get the itches… message which means you got
camp fever. this should let you preserve the antibiotics for…

Yeah, weak immune system sucks. when you get sick, use the antibiotics or spider lily
to get rid of the bacteria before it becomes a huge problem.

Bug bites cause cholera, but it shouldnt be an issue if you do the steps above. also,
dont build a water reservoir in the wetlands since that causes the bug population to
overflow and cause bugs inside your plane.

You got too filthy. being too dirty gives you fever bacteria and if it gets even higher
you get parasites. remember to wash yourself(unsafe water works). being wet can help
cool you down which means you dont lose hydration from being too hot.

Bacterial fever from wetness isnt a huge problem, just drink some spider lily tea or
take antibiotics when your fever bar is going up. I still think its worth going outside
and exploring in the rain and getting wet to reduce temperature.

Fire outside, too hot inside. you dont need to stay outside while boiling water or
cooking. dont stay outside during the night to get light from it. Getting bug bites by
staying outside to get light during the night isnt worth it in my opinion. i most often
stay in the plane and train spearfighting in the dark.

Keep fires outside of your house, dont worry about getting soaked and remember to take
your medicine.
