How to Get Shark Eggs:
----------------------
Game description says to knock out fish via nets and tranquilizers
but these never work on sharks.
-=How-To=-
* Just harpoon it.
*You will get eggs from catched ones when you get back to the boat.
-=Note=-
Don’t know the rates but i drown in eggs every time.
How to Beat the Mantis Boss:
----------------------------
Written by Knifeswitch
If you’re impatient and can’t wait for them to patch this boss later today,
here’s how you can beat him now.
-=How to Do It=-
You dodge his attacks and when he goes for a big swing you hit him in the
eyes. After about two big hits a handle drops down, you’re meant to pull on
it -super- quick to lift the punching bag thing to stagger him. Pulling on
it is not essential to killing him, so just load up on auxiliary oxygen
tanks and smash his eyes when you’ve made an opening as much as possible.
High level harpoon and/or flame sniper rifle are very useful for this.
Try and fight him in the middle ground. If you hover directly overhead he
can’t hit you so he backs up. When he does his rush sequence you get pushed
back toward the spikes so you want just enough distance from the spikes that
you can grab the chain in time for him to deflect and stagger or for you to
dodge his attack entirely. You’ll fail at this about as much as you succeed
at best so don’t get caught up on the ball and chain mechanic.
When he staggers from the punching bag he has an opening moment but he’s so
far back it’s difficult to even get a hit in if you swim at full boost and
unload with a long range weapon. Often it’s better to just go over the top
of him since the punishment for failure is getting pushed toward the spikes
so if you can avoid that and just keep getting those high damage number
knocks in you can take him down. The key is just putting in enough points of
damage to them eyeballs, and the stagger from the punching bag is kind of
useless at the moment for actually giving you more openings and more of a
damage hazard, so if you avoid the damage and keep fighting you’re actually
in net gain territory.
They’re going the fight a bit easier with a patch later today, but if you
can’t wait: Sell a bunch of sharks from your fish farm for cash to get that
major spear upgrade if you’re stuck on the same day without it, grab your
best sniper rifle, go round the map and find a pair of oxygen tanks, and
just wail on them eyes till he falls over. Walk him back with hovering over
top of his eyes, dodge around his punch telegraphs, create an opening, get
one to two knocks in, avoid the spikes if you can, try to avoid damage
from his big attack, pound oxygen as needed, repeat and keep going till
he’s dead It’s doable.
Best of luck.
Tips to Beat Mantis Shrimp:
---------------------------
So you have to shoot the shrimp in the eye after it let its guard down a
few times first.
* “After that” it will wind up for a super punch, which will trigger a
grabbable part of the chain at the far upper left part of the map.
* Pull down the chain to lift up the punching bag to block the super punch.
* The confusing part about all of these is that the dialogue hinting at
finding something to block the punch comes up at the start of the fight.
* Since there is like a cutscene every time the boss winds up for the super
punch maybe they could move the dialogue to that part or something.
Easy Bei Farm (500 Per-Day) Using Shark Teeth Minigame:
-------------------------------------------------------
Written by AlyciaFear
Easy method to farm 500 Bei per day by playing the Shark Teeth Minigame.
-=The Strategy=-
For those wanting an easy way to farm up Bei, this method is an easy way to
farm 500 per in-game day and will work 99.9% of the time.
First, head to the Arcade and play the "Shark Teeth" minigame (which you can
play 5 times daily). Put down the max bet of Bei (for the total 500 per day,
you will need to bet 100 each time, otherwise, do the max bet you can and work
your way up to 100).
Once the round starts, immediately note which tooth has the cavity.
If the AI goes first, let him complete his turn.
Once it is your turn, count how many remaining teeth are up from the start to
the cavity tooth (DO NOT INCLUDE THE CAVITY TOOTH IN THIS NUMBER).
If it is NOT a multiple of 4 (4,8,12,16), press the number of teeth that would
reduce that number to a multiple of 4. For example: If there are 13 teeth between
you and the cavity tooth, you would select '1' to drop it to 12. If there are 19,
you will choose 3 to reduce it to 16, etc...
If it IS a multiple of 4, select '1' (this will prolong the game, hopefully allowing
the AI to make a mistake and get you off of a multiple of 4). Repeat this until your
turn no longer starts on a multiple of 4, and follow the step above.
Once you have done this and the AI starts its turn on a multiple of 4, all you have
to do is keep the AI on multiples of 4 to be guaranteed to win. To do this, keep
the turn sums equal to 4.
* If the AI chooses 1, you choose 3.
* If the AI chooses 2, you choose 2.
* And if the AI chooses 3, you choose 1.
I won't go into the proof of why this works mathematically, but if you want to learn
more about it, I recommend the video on youtube, "Can you solve the 21 flags game
from Survivor?" the problem discussed there is essentially the exact same as this
game and will better explain why this works.
TLDR: Make sure the AI always starts its turn with a multiple of 4 teeth remaining.
Whoever starts their turn with a multiple of 4 is guaranteed to lose if their opponent
plays correctly.
-=Info: The easy indicator (from Virkful)=-
* Go for 4x+1 = 1, 5, 9, 13, 17. (20 teeth so max of 19 steps)
* Then one you step on 4x+1, match a sum of 4 with the opponent.
* If opponent goes 1, you go 3 // 2 & 2 // 3 and 1.
* Beause you want to hit on 1 before bite, and the stalemate number would be
min+Max = 1+3=4, thus 4x+1.
* If the movement min Max were different like 1 to 13, then the stalemate number
would be 14 = 14x+1.
Guide to Spend Gold:
--------------------
Written by DukeCrane
-=Making Money=-
* Run the restaurant in evening.
* Sell fish at the restaurant in the morning or afternoon.
* Go to banko’s.
* LB or RB to reach the ingredients tab at the bottom of the screen.
* Sell fish in bulk without the need to put it on the menu.
* Early game is only useful for getting rid of the fish you don’t want in the
restaurant. late game allows you to farm at the fish farm which is one of the
most profitable things to do late game.
* Sell items found in the deep hole to the dude on the boat with a red shirt.
* He will buy gold bars, silver bowls, and all that stuff…after progression in
the story. It’s not a great source of income but NECESSARY for inventory management.
In early acess, inventory was limited and I lost some cool items because I ran out
of room in my inventory on the ship. (it’s the yellow container on the boat)
* Complete scavenger quests for the research lady with short hair.
* She rewards a lot of money for her scavenge missions.
-=Spending Money=-
The 2 smart options early on:
* Increase cargo on idiver app.
* Hire employees and train them for skills. training them in the restaurant tab for
employees allows them to gain certain skills like being able to serve drinks for
you or making wasabi for you. Then dave can sit in the corner like he was meant
to ??
-=The fun way=-
Buy decorations as early as possible because if you wait too long, you will not complete
this before finishing the story. The restaurant is very fun early game. as the game
progresses, the story begins to take over and you will max out your scuba upgrades
relatively early.
What to Sell and Not Sell:
--------------------------
Personally I would not sell to the Cobra shop as you unlock a different shop later
on in the game that you can sell the same materials to.
The difference is Cobra pays you in gold, whereas the other shops pays you in another
currency.
Gold is easy to come by and you likely won’t need to bolster your gold by sell things
to him. The other currency is less easy to come by, and bolstering it by selling
things to the other shop is a good idea to get better upgrades faster.
Defeating Klaus (Shark Boss):
-----------------------------
Beat him first try, didn’t use my auxiliary tank. Used just a rifle version 3 level
2 with octopus charm and ecowatcher bracelet. Long range scooter for dodging. With
that gun I killed him in think 8 shots, didn’t even need to reload. Think it was
about 80 damage a shot, took 2 hits myself since I was just learning the attack
patterns. Sniper rifle would probably be a better choice for the extra range with
all of the ammo laying around.
My standard shark fighting method is boosted in this fight because of his ground
charge. I dodge using the infinity symbol method, if he does a charge attack into
the ground he seems to have a slower recovery. So popped him think twice off the
bat, dodged a ground charge and got him 4 times, then hit him once at the end of
a vortex, and got him the last time during his next charge.
The key for sharks is knowing your placement around the charges. Should be able
to get 1 or 2 shots in during the charge up, 1 or 2 during the charge and 1-4
during their recovery for most of them, depending on your weapon. If you want to
practice, I recommend the tiger shark with just a normal harpoon. It’s fairly
average in all aspects as far as the pattern goes.
How to Get 3 Star Stargazer?:
-----------------------------
Steel net gun works for them. The timing is extremely tight as you need to approach
at an angle that allows you to pop them the second they stick up their head right
before they lunge. It’s doable, I’ve caught plenty, but you will probably need a
few tries to nail the timing.
Willing to bet the steel auto sensor would work if you don’t have access to the
steel net (requires some rare mat I think, I just don’t remember which) – worth
a shot anyway if it happens to show up at the shop.
Where to Catch Shrimp?:
-----------------------
Here’s how you do it:
* Serve the dish (it’s in your menu, you just need the ingredients).
* Get the net.
* Dive the day after.
* Get to 150 m.
* The ‘clione’ will have a blue lozange over their heads.
There’s dozens of them at that depth.
* Approch and press space bar.
* Rinse wash repeat.
“Something” happens (I don’t want to spoil it)
Tip: To not ‘waste’ the dive, have what you wanted to do done, then leave about
20 kg of space before you catch the final Clione. You’ll understand why.
Important Tips:
---------------
Written by [Warden] Wilhelm
This is not a guide to make you minmax, but simply to prod towards certain
advantages that are not readily apperent but will most certainly help your gameplay.
The Toy Hammer might seem like a joke weapon, but it is absolutely the best weapon
in the early game for easy 3 star fish catches, it has no ammo and only its melee
range diminishes its usefulness compared to the tranq gun. Its especially useful
against static or slow moving creatures like jellyfish, its recommened to farm
jellyfish in the early game with this weapon to preparer for the first targeted
sale event, tho it can also be very efficently used against predator fish that wont
run away from your melee strikes, however be aware that if the first hit causes the
fish to sleep, the next will wake it up, soo be careful with your strikes to avoid
taking unnessecry damage, which you will most likely take unless your very careful
with your strikes.
Overall its by far the most usefull melee weapon in the game ive found so far,
atleast in terms of catching fish.
Focus on upgrading your carry capacity, and do not focus on the harpoon damage as
it is by far the least useful. Being able to carry more will increase your overall
gains each run, so it is by far the most important upgrade, however the diving suit
is right behind as it allows you to get easier access to better fish, however these
all weight far more than early game fish so again, focus on carry capacity before
all else.
The harpoon upgrade might seem nice on paper, and it is, but other weapons you find
are far better for most purposes you would use your harpoon, think of your harpoon
as your backup weapon, like the crowbar in half life 2, it makes your life easier
sure, but the world is littered with weapons far more efficent at doing what you
want, its only upside is its ability to be used without an ammo count, view it as
your backup tool when your out of other options and upgrade it accordinlgy.
Fish farms makes your life far easier, don’t focus on catching too many of the small
surface fish, the fish farm you will unlock later in the game will let you have more
of them than you could ever wish for, instead attempt to focus on the more expensive
fish types you can find in any stage of your gameplay, as an example, in the very
early game the predator fish along with the pufferfish are the best targets for maximum
profitt, that said its not so important that you have to focus these fish, bujt if you
want the best profitt possible or simply dont want yo waste your time, spend more time
targeting the big expensive fish rather than the odd cardinal or clownfish.
Focus on your quests. The game does not do a good job of forewarning you of the
immense importance of doing the main quests as soon as possible, whenever you go
for a dive, do any objectives for the quests that you can during each single dive,
the quests unclocks IMPORTANT game features that makes your life both easier and
provide things that you will need at later days, if you don’t focus these quests
you will end up not having the aviable features to do later events, thus sending
you down a spira of despair.(Once you have unlocked the vegetable farm, you can
relax on the quests)
Don’t sell fish parts. If you get extra parts from caught fish, don’t sell them
even if you find no use for them, as the game progresses you will need these to
upgrade your weapons, once you have done so, feel free to use them as extra
cashflow.
Night Diving:
-------------
* First, you have to unlock the ability to night dive.
* When the guy in the straw hat visits the restaurant for the first time he will
ask for a specific night only fish and then you can do it from now on.
* Then you have to go to the boat before the restaurant opens in the evening,
after your afternoon dive… and just dive.
Roe in the Fish Farm:
---------------------
Its automatic.
After a dive (assuming you acquire any roe, its random chance, with higher potential
with 3 star catches), you will get the breakdown of what you brought back with you,
including roe.
If you have purchased a ‘farm plot’ for the specific depth that the roe the fish
belongs to lives in, it will be placed there and grow into a fish the next day.
If you don’t have a space with the appropriate depth, the roe will be placed ‘on ice’
and won’t show up or grow into a fish until you do.
How to Obtain Dev Killer Secret Achievement:
--------------------------------------------
Written by DannyDug
To unlock this achievement you have to destroy the names of the developers in the
space mini-game that plays alongside the credits. If you do not do this first try
then you can replay the mini-game from your phone at any time.
-=The Strategy=-
Your goal is to destroy all the names that spawn in around you in space, some useful
things to note:
* Your gun is not a harpoon but a laser rife that can fire 6 shots rapidly if you
hold down the right mouse button and tap the left mouse button.
* The play area loops. If you move far enough to the right of the play area then
you will wrap around to the left side and the same goes for the top and bottom.
This can make it easy to get turned around and confused.
* The names spawn in the same order and place each time. Take note of the certain
names when you change direction as this will help you plan a route.
-=Strategy=-
As soon as you spawn in move to the top and destroy all the names you can wile working
your way to the right. Once you have destroyed “Director Jaeho Hwang” start moving down
destroying names until names start appearing to your left. * * Just follow the trail
around until you turn right and head back up to the top of the play area to destroy
the last of the names.
I hope this helps, it may take a few tries until you get the route down.
