Rough Carry Capacity & Drill Guide:
-----------------------------------
Written by Guide

Rough indication of how much you can efficiently carry without losing too
much speed, as well as how much you can freely carry and how many drill
hits it will take to destroy terrain.

-=Carry Capacity (Rough Guide)=-
* Free carry = how much you can carry without losing speed.
* Efficient carry = how much you can carry while moving at the highest speed / resource.
* Edge = how much you can carry with slight inefficiency, e.g. if small number left behind.
* Max carry = how much you can carry and barely move.

5.7 (Engineer base)
* Untested. I always get the first drill & carry upgrades, so I carry 4 iron back at
least twice.

2.4 (Engineer 1st upgrade, costs 4 iron)
* Free: 2-3
* Efficient: 4-6
* Edge: 7 (+1)
* Max: 8

1.05 (Engineer 2nd upgrade, costs 8 iron)
* Free: 4-5
* Efficient: 7-8
* Edge: 9 (+1)
* Max: 14

0.42 (Engineer 3rd upgrade, costs 12 iron)
* Free: 6-7
* Efficient: 9-10
* Edge: 15 (+1-6)
* Max: 21

0.17 (Engineer final upgrade, costs 16 iron)
* Free: 10
* Efficient: 17-19
* Edge: untested
* Max: 33

It generally makes sense to split a load into half or three thirds and carry them
back if the amount of resources is more than the edge case. Or just carry back what
you need for the next upgrade at the dome.

-=Drill Strength Guide=-
Drill strength (Engineer with no other buffs).

* L = layer.
* A,B,C,D = number of drill hits to destroy each strength in that layer
(4 different strengths).
Some layers and highest strength drills are untested.

2 (base)
* L1: 2,3,6,12
* L2: 2,4,,

6 (1st upgrade)
* L1: 1,1,2,4
* L2, 1,2,5,
* L3: ,,10,

14 (2nd upgrade)
* L1: 1,1,1,3
* L2: 1,1,2,4
* L3: 1,2,5,6
* L4: 3,4,10,16

34 (3rd upgrade)
* L1: 1hit
* L2: 1,1,1,2
* L3: 1,1,2,4
* L4: 1,2,4,8
* L5: 3,4,9,17

74 (4th upgrade)
* L2: 1hit
* L3: 1,1,1,2
* L4: 1,1,2,4
* L5: 1,2,4,8
* L6: 2,3,4,9

134 (repeat 4th upgrade)
* L3: 1 hit
* L4: 1,1,1,2
* L5: 1,1,3,5

224 (2x repeat 4th upgrade)
* L3: 1 hit
* L4: 1,1,1,2
* L5: 1,1,2,3
* L6: 1,2,3,
* 359 – untested (3x repeat 4th upgrade).
* 60 iron – untested (4x repeat 4th upgrade).
* 70 iron – untested (5x repeat 4th upgrade).

-=Caveats=-
The amount of resources you should carry back is often situational so use as a rough guide.

10 Tips to Get Started:
-----------------------
Written by neurotoxicity

For Dome Keeper player who are looking for tips to get started, this guide will share you
10 pieces of knowldge to help figure out where to start with the excellent Dome Keeper.

To help you get along with your journey of pillaging and plundering historical relics from
worlds around the galaxy, here is a small list of knowledge to make those first couple of
drops easier:

* The only way to die is to lose your dome to the aliens you fight, this means prioritising
  your offence/defence there, as everything else can wait.
* A good offence is the best defence – this is a DPS kind of a game. You will find that
  some things (the flying stuff) are quite high damage but fairly easy to kill, so better
  to prioritise carefully.
* Early start – for the mining part during the first couple of waves, focus on iron
  (squares) – the other resources are useful once you’ve got yourself upgraded a little.
* Build order should include : drill upgrade and alien warning system first. This allows
  you to mine more (and your early speed is dependent on drill more than flight…) and know
  how long you have before you need to come home.
* Dont be afraid to use the cobalt (triangles) to heal yourself when you have them. Better
  to have full health and nothing in the bank than die with a pocket full of triangles.
* On that note: you can Q out of a battle in the middle and quickly D in to the upgrade
  screen to heal yourself. Do be quick though, coz you can die in the process!
* What about those cool upgrades? Some are better than others, but it’s preference. Probe
  is useful, the lift and teleporter are both excellent. The blaster and Drilbert not so
  much… but play with them all.
* Some upgrades you buy (e.g. the Shield Overcharge) put a machine in your dome, so to
  activate it you have to go over and press SPACE. This isn’t explained, but there you go.
* Unlocks are based on things you do to play the game… e.g. The Orchard is unlocked if
  you use Repellant.
* Mining difficulty comes from depth (by colour) and density (visible in the blocks).
  Prioritise clearing each layer by colour before exploring too deeply, as it is harder
  to mine...on the other hand, the really big deposits are usually lower, so when you are
  ready to mine and carry more, thats when to go deep!
