Don't Build. Squat:
-------------------
Every survival game has programmed you to immediately start chopping grass
and building a dirt-and-leaf hovel. Fight that urge with all your might.
Grounded 2 generously provides you with a starter home. Early in the main
quest, you'll be led to a fortified Ranger Station. Your landmark is a
ridiculously out-of-place cocktail umbrella. This pre-built base is your
Fort Knox. It has blast doors, a Resource Analyzer, and a comms desk—all
vital for progression. Trying to build your own shack from scratch is a
massive resource sink you can't afford. Embrace the squatter's life, build
an extension onto this pre-made haven, and save your grass planks for
things that matter, like better armor.
Have an Identity Crisis with Archetypes:
----------------------------------------
Grounded 2's new Archetype system feels like classes (Rogue, Mage, Tank,
etc.), but with a wonderful twist: you're not locked into anything. Your
“class” is just a combination of the mutations, armor, and trinkets you
have equipped. Want to be a dagger-wielding Rogue for stealthy missions?
Equip Red Ant armor and some stabby mutations. Need to face a big baddie
head-on? Swap to your saved Tank loadout. You can save up to four
different builds and switch between them on the fly. It's like having a
closet full of different combat professions. So experiment! You can't
screw up your character by picking the “wrong” thing 40 hours down the
line.
Building Your First Base: Location is Everything:
-------------------------------------------------
As night falls, the park becomes a much more dangerous place, with
predators like Wolf Spiders actively hunting. You need a safe place to
sleep and store your stuff. The golden rule for your first base is simple:
get high up. Most early threats are ground based, so building on an
elevated platform is your best defense.
A few prime locations for your starter home include the wooden platform
near the Billy Hog Snackbar (close to the first outpost and resources) or
on top of the giant baseball. Both spots are naturally elevated and keep
you safe from most wandering enemies.
Once you've picked a spot, immediately craft a Lean-To. This simple
structure lets you sleep through the dangerous night and, more importantly,
sets your respawn point. Next up are a Workbench for crafting gear, a
Storage Chest to keep your inventory clean, and a Roasting Spit to cook
raw meat, which restores more hunger and some health.
Disable Depth of Field:
-----------------------
* First, head over to the following location:
* C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Local\Augusta\Saved\Config\WinGRTS
* Here, create a new text file and rename it to Engine.ini while making sure
you modify the file extension as well.
* Open the file and enter the following lines:
[SystemSettings]
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
* Save the file (Ctrl + S) and exit.
* Now, right-click on the newly created Engine.ini file and select properties.
* Check "Read Only" next to Attributes.
* This will ensure that the game doesn’t delete the "Engine.ini" file once it’s
launched, because it will otherwise.
* After that, you’re done.
* The next time you launch Grounded 2, depth of field will be completely disabled.
How To Unlock The Briefcase:
----------------------------
The Briefcase is placed on the Picnic Table, and if you look carefully, there is a
3-digit code written in the magazine. In the same page where crosswords are printed,
there will be a small paper with a 3-digit code, i.e., 137.
To find the remaining 3-digit code, go to the Ceremony area and climb the Podium
stand. The ripped page or paper that contains the remaining code will be present
there. The code will be 514.
* Complete code to unlock the Briefcase is 137-514.
Crafting:
---------
* To craft Plant Fiber in bulk, you might consider to build a Grinder. Excess
material can be grinded to craft certain recipes. In this case Plant Fiber!
* Certain workbench such as Spinning Wheel in an instance can craft Crude Rope
efficiently using only 1 Plant Fiber. Same can be done in your Inventory but
it will consume 3 Plant Fiber for a Crude Rope.
* Craft higher quality Bed in your base to rest as it gives buff for the next
day which results in low hunger and thirst.
* Before going to Bed, queue up all the crafting items because when you will
wake up; all the items will be crafted. The time will pass normally.
