Jagged Alliance 3
Cheat Codes:

Recommended Mercs:
------------------
Same as the other JA’s. The cheap MERCS with good acc and stamina.
Plus a mechanic from the start.
* Cheap, so you can hire a team from the start and also are able
to maintain the costs.
* Guns are bad at the start, so acc is vital to get a few shots in
at short range.
* Bad stamina could make an otherwise great MERC a narcoleptic,
so useless.
* Equipment needs repairs from the start, a mechanic is vital.
How to Save Money:
------------------
Make sure you buy your created character ASAP (the I.M.P option in
the browse site) as created characters do NOT have a daily cost,
you pay one upfront price and they are yours for ever. So even if
you drop to zero money and have no mercs, you still got your created
characters who can scavange for more cash.
There’s mercs you can hire from certain side mission that cost no
daily income. Some missions you can hire NPCs to join you and they
cost you no daily income. I know of four mercs. of those 4, three
you can get on the first main island right after the tutorial island
after completing their quest. so combined with your created character,
thats 5 mercs that cost zero daily income. Can save a lot of money
this way with only hiring a single merc to fill the 6th slot.
Buy the recruit mercs, and dont buy elite or legendary early on This
will save you money as the recruits cost much less money compared to
the elites and legendaries at the start where you most likely dont
have enough money to hire them. You can always just create your custom
character to be a master trainer, and train the recruit mercs to be
legendary in stats without the high cost upfront.
Use only one team, until you have atleast, more than 500k in money.
with that amount of money, you can now start working on hiring a second
team and not worry about running out of money for quite a while even
if you ran out of money from mines.
Tips to Produce Ammo:
---------------------
You can produce ammo and explosives in certain areas of the map (I
think the ones with repair stations) by going on to the strategic
map and pressing O for operations (the same place you train mercs,
militia, repair and so on) and then you have to scroll down a bit to
see it.
You can only convert ammo if you do not have the item called GUNPOWDER.
With gunpowder and parts in your inventory, the regular ammo shows up
in the list of items to create when you activate the “create ammo”
operation in towns.
For 30 standard rounds for my AK, it cost 1 gunpowder and x10 parts
for example.
Create ammo and certain other operations only show up in certain parts
of the map, like towns and such.
Tips to Solve a Lack of Money:
------------------------------
Money is basically never a concern if you don’t hire expensive merc.
Expensive mercs are not needed at all. You can train cheap mercs and
turn them into elite. I recommend Barry (he is op and covers explosive),
Livewire (might as well get the highest mechanic stat recruit), Fox, and
maybe Mouse or MD.
When you need the 6th slot just hire Wolf, he saves time in operation
and works well with Fox. Decent all rounder that can do everything. Use
IMP merc to train all their marksmanship in one go.
All of these are good once you get their marksmanship above 80 then you
never really need training again. Then give everyone a good modded sniper
rifle.
The only combat stat you need is actually just agi, dex, and marksmanship.
There’s a lot of more expensive merc who doesn’t even start with good stats
for those 3, therefore Fox and Mouse is actually OP because you only need
to train their marksmanship.
How to Get Money:
-----------------
Turn on item highlight, and make sure its set to TOGGLE in the options.
As you walk around the world on foot, you will come across various items
to loot, that will highlight themselves as you get close enough, and many
of them have money in them. This can net you a few thousand from a single
sector. You also get ammo, gear, items to sell like diamonds and gems.
The highlight is off by default so you need to learn the keyboard key to
turn it on.
Rob the diamond caravans. the red diamond suitcase icons you see in the
SAT map view. Each one will net you 12,000. When I do these, the enemies
are usually bunched up together, so stealth up to them and just throw a
frag grenade(not those weak as crap stick grenades) and that should take
atleast half of them out before the battle even begins.
Certain vendors you can sell items to for cash Some vendors you can sell
your medical supplies, junk and other items to for a small cash reward.
Ive found like three of them.
Let the militia fight your battles for you. Dont get in the way of enemy
routes and let them fight the militia for you, as the end of the battle,
the enemies drop loot, and usually weapons, armor, ammo, and sometimes
even items you can cash in for money. And it cost you no resources. It
only cost a few hundred dollars and a few hours in game to retrain the
the ones you lost, so you can get money and save resources like ammo,
repair cost, medical supplies, plus get even more of those items this
way by having the militia fight and die for you while you profit off
their misery like a good old fashioned, capitalist.
How to Deal with the Refugee Camp Response:
-------------------------------------------
Fighting defensively is tough – the enemy comes up in a single group, combat
starts if they see any militia, and your useless allies are scattered all
over the map. Just let them take the territory.
Retaking is pretty easy – they take the same positions as the legion, so you
can pick off some of them and fight them in chunks.
A single squad has a rough time in an upfront defense, but some maps are more
suited for defense than others. Pantagruel’s left area has good cover, a high
ground and the enemy enters away from militia so you can set up, so I held
that one against 3 teams in a row, but on most other maps I’d need 2 squads
of mercs to fight a single enemy squad due to the immediate start of combat.
So yeah, 9 times out of 10, just let them take the territory. You can even
autoresolve them if you’re bored of taking the same map again.
Combat Advice:
--------------
* Stealth is overrated.
* Cover is overrated.
* During this playtrough I’m not heavily rely on both of them.
* Maybe just for frog leaping perk.
* Run and gun is awesome, and you can combo it with melee at the end of
the run.
* Switch back to SMG before end turn if you have the perk, to return fire
to anyone shooting at you, as long you’re not in cover.
* I’m using Commando right now, because it can lob grenade.
* The Thing for the other hand.
* Cover is overrated because my team right now just need to prone on a flat
ground, and enemy shot would mostly miss. The cover will split your team
cohesion, and obstruct the best line of sight.
* Also, remember the perk I’ve mentioned above.
* Later, if you have someone with 90 Health, there’s a perk you can gain 15
grit if you’re not in cover. Even better if you have Scully for added Grit.
* Just beware Rocketmen, or Grenadiers at early game.
* There is also the perk to enable critical during overwatch.
* And +50% damage if you’re making critical.
* Tuned up MG build is also do not rely on stealth.
* Heck you can’t cover if you’re using MG.
* RPK can do some crazy thing with MG.
* Like 3AP cost burst, Silenced Long Burst, non set up usage MG.
* Aim for groin if you have problem with accuracy.
It almost has the same accuracy as shooting torso, while giving the 2nd best
damage output. Also, artery shot perk enables you to use HP ammo shooting the
hand which usually unarmored as if you’re aiming for the torso. But remember,
we’re using HP ammo for added damage and critical.
* Not saying stealth is useless, I’ve been there.
* It is very powerful, but not the fastest way to finish a battle, and not
the only option to go.
* Having more options will make you more flexible, and stronger in the process.
