Tips to Beat First Boss:

Equip yourself with “ranged” gear. You can find swords that allow
for AOE or ranged attacks, rather than front attacks. For spear 
both the penetrate attack and the “lobbed” attack are great for 
damaging Ajax without attacks being intercepted by enemies. 
Shield with Shield Bounce is also the best area option.

For the Helm the 120s cooldown with the arrow attacks is very 
helpful, as Ajax slowly advances.

Manage your Stamina and Combat Points. When you’re low on Stamina, 
stand still during his line fire attacks and send in more Phalanx 
or use Barrel Throw to damage the frontlines.
