Coop Work Explained:

Coop is same as other action RPGs such as Diablo and Path 
of Exile. Then there are also two PvP modes available.

When you create a game, you can choose whether its:
* Completely offline.
* Private: only your friends can join, e.g., through the Steam 
  “join friend” feature or by direct IP connect.
* Public: anyone can join, and the game is shown in the public 
  server list.

You can also password-protect your game, should you desire.
